They are so friendly and the food is incredibly delicious. We sat next to Germans and they expressed how much the food took them back to their grandma’s house. It felt so homey!

We were so pleased that Alisa answered our call when her were delayed on Vail pass trying to make our reservation. She assured us she could get us a table when we arrived and even wished us a safe journey on the treacherous road.

When we arrived I was served the perfect first martini, I’m picky about that! And then Thor was a delightful waiter. The meal was delicious and I would love to have that sautéed spinach on a regular basis! Excellent experience all around!

Our first visit to Almresi was absolutely wonderful! The whole experience was fabulous; this includes the decor, the menus, the ambiance, the wait staff, the presentation of every dish, the hospitality. Every detail has been well thought out. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. And the wait staff was so personable. It was an absolutely enjoyable experience. Plus, everything we tried on the menu was amazing! We would highly recommend and will definitely make a repeat trip next time we are in the Vail Valley.

Almresi has a cozy atmosphere, authentic German Alps ambiance. Our waiter and all of the wait staff appeared to be young Germans. They knew their menu and were very helpful with suggestions. The cocktails were nicely crafted, with a flair for entertainment. The appetizer board we had was ample for 4. There was no rush to move into the dinner courses which added to the pleasantry of our. Ravening meal. The beef, pork, and fish enters with sides were large enough for very hearty appetites. To the point where there was no room for desert and thus a good reason return another evening for deserts & coffee.

We had a delightful evening at Almresi with a family reunion group - Marcus from Austria was our main waiter and he was charming and attentive, as were all the other wait staff. The food was classic but updated Austrian/German dishes and exquisite. Such a convivial evening in a cosy bavarian decor - we will most definitely return when we come back to Vail!

This is probably the best German food that we've had in the US, period. Don't bother with any of the other German restaurants in Vail, just head straight here. Add in the incredible service from actual German servers , the authentic decor and music, and the great beer, wine and schnapps and you've got the perfect dinner after a day of skiing. The pork shank and the short rib are beyond flavorful and tender, you could eat them with a spoon. We'll be back again and again!

Love, love this place. Reservations were hard to get, so we went at 5, which was the only time we could get in. Service was incredible, food was even better. Short rib plate and potato pancake platter were fantastic, we went through two pretzel appetizers, too. We also did the cheese fondue...loved the cheese but the rustic bread was just OK. They have a great kids menu, and some really unique cocktails. Loved my warm Gluwine after a cold day in the snow!

Be careful to make sure you ask for a table in the main dining room. We arrived and had to wait 10 minutes for the hostess to greet us. She seemed confused over our reservation even though they called earlier in the day to confirm it. She disappeared for a long time and finally showed us to a table overlooking the service area next to the bar. I chose this restaurant because of the charming front room they show on their website. Sitting in the bar area is never as appealing as being in a dining room (especially with an obvious call girl sitting at the bar). Our server offered us service more typical for bar service than dining service. He seemed to be in a hurry to get us to order. I understand the need to turn a table on a busy holiday weekend but there are ways to do it without being so obvious.

The food was good but the entree choices were a little odd. You know it's missing something when your husband and 16 year old son just order Caesar salad. Sometimes it's a good idea to put at least one simple entree option on the menu for people who have more limited palates.

My daughter had the boiled beef ... I do not recommend this. I had the potato pancakes with salmon. It was very good.

This is our new Vail favorite. We lived in Bavaria for several years and can attest that this food is authentic. Most of the staff is from the Alps region and absolutely delightful. Wonderful for lunch or dinner and super fun.

Delicious swiss/german food in a cool modern setting. The waiters wear traditional looking garb which is fun. But decor is anything but stuffy and expected with cool art on the walls. Drinks are amazing and gourmet. Everything we got was yummy. We had a big rowdy group and the wait staff was tolerant and attentive.
