About Almond

Almond blends farm-to-table culture in a vibrant, comfortable atmosphere.

Co-owner and Executive Chef Jason Weiner creates seasonal & daily menus that are driven by market-fresh ingredients. Almond's local & sustainable fish offerings are illuminated through an open raw bar. Classic Almond dishes, beloved at Almond's sister restaurants (Almond Bridgehampton & Almond Tribeca), are highlighted with Brussels Sprouts Two-Ways and Steak Frites, amongst others. Unique to the menu is a selection of "Small Things," masterfully conceived dishes that can be enjoyed in a few bites that range from Roasted Chickpeas to Lobster Sausage.

The wine list, handpicked by co-owner Eric Lemonides, offers an affordable selection of wines. Specialty cocktails, NY craft beers, and raw bar selections, along with the entire menu, at the restaurant’s spacious 20-seat bar.

Almond is a lovely place. Very good food in a warm, comfortable but stylish environment. Its a good to kind of place when you need somewhere reliable, not over the top but special at the same time.

Restaurant was full and busy. It took 15 minutes for a waiter to ask if we wanted a drink. We ordered immediately because we had a lot of time to review the menu. The food can quickly and it was delicious. After the initial order the service went smoothly.

I enjoyed having an informal business lunch in the comfortable surroundings. The menu had plenty of choices for a variety of palates. I would definitely return for a business lunch or a dinner with friends.

The one complaint is that we used a $100 open table gift card on a $72 bill. We couldn’t use it for tip and they couldn’t give us a gift card for $28 for next time so we walked out NOT using $28. Then we tipped $20. A little annoying.

The restaurant has declined considerably. The wine list is atrocious if non-existent - essentially 6 not-so-great options off the main menu drink list, and they were out of anything good. Service was really poor and non-attentive. Food prices and drink prices very high for what you get. Bartender was rude, and passed us to someone else because she didn't want to be bothered, but then observed her rolling her eyes at her colleagues while they were waiting on us. Wait staff not much better.

Food was ok, nothing special. My steak was overcooked. The server was apologetic and took it back immediately. She even brought a glass of wine on the house. While it was properly done the second time, it was not great. But it was comfortable and we sat for about three hours on a Friday night with no pressure to turn the table. I'd go back.

Had dinner at Almond for three. I wasn't that hungry, so ordered the tomato soup which was excellent. The other two people in our party ordered full meals, and raved about how good the meals were. I look forward to eating here again.

Great vibe and great accommodating and friendly service. The entrees werre decent sized and well prepared if a bit overpriced. Sticky toffee cake with ice cream was the icing on the cake so save room for dessert!

Almond has just the right vibe for so many times, dinner with a friend, lunch with family, drinks with business associates. From great cocktails to delicious well prepared unpretentious food you feel at home. The happy hour is a great value. Had the best Negroni of my life there. Excellent steak frites, thoughtful wine list and fresh seafood.

Went here with our family of four and we had a great time. The service was spectacular. The waitress made excellent recommendations that most of us used. The food was just what the waitress said. So good and so much we could barely finish it. But save room for dessert but cause that was the best part. We had three of them. And each was better than the last.

My friends and I have dined here for lunch and brunch several times. I’m a big fan of their salade Nicoise. Waitstaff are very pleasant and efficient. A charming and friendly hostess greets everyone at the door. At my lunch there yesterday management’s choice of cool music tracks added to the upbeat atmosphere. It’s a great spot in the neighborhood.

What a horrible experience! I came here for a special birthday brunch for my sister because I have had good experiences at your Bridgehampton location. Our waiter was beyond slow every step of the way. He kept apologizing, which made it more awkward because he did not offer anything to make it better, and we could see him chatting with co-workers most of the time. Small things like milk for my coffee - asked him 3 times over 30 minutes. Finally had to just get up and ask anyone who was standing near the beverages. Absolutely baffling how this can occur and nothing can be done to make it better. We will NOT ever be coming back

Very friendly service, but food was mediocre at best. The pork and date cake were inedible. Everything else was just a step above TGI Friday’s.

Great service. Had the Plat du Jour (shrimp Scampi). There are no prices for this on the menu. It was $30. Risotto was a little dense but delicious. Shrimps were a tad overcooked. Wine list is long but a bit pricy by the glass. Does have a bistro atmosphere.

My sword dinner left me reaching for my friend’s fries. The portion was so small compared to the steak frites or the burger. The staff was not very attentive. We had to ask the server twice and the food runner for mayonnaise. By the time the mayonnaise arrived the burger was cold. I’ve eaten here many times and this was the least favorite experience.

Almond is a stalwart "normcore" dining experience in the heart of the Flatiron. I've been here for brunch at least a half-dozen times, and while the consistency of the food and service has fluctuated somewhat, it remains a consistently reliable go-to for an above-average meal in a central location that is convenient for large groups coming from all over. Their iced coffee is particularly delicious- rich, viscous and chocolatey- and the mini-biscuits they bring to the table (and will refill if you ask) are buttery bites of heaven. You won't have your mind (or wallet) blown, nor will you be disappointed.

So I booked this thru OpenTable who asks if it's a special occasion. It was my husband's actual birthday. I said so on OpenTable and to our waiter. Nothing at all for this occasion. Nothing. Why ask??? The waiter knew it was his birthday!
Other than that the food was good and the waiter nice. He even wished my husband a happy birthday.

The wait staff was quite solicitous and friendly, the food for our brunch was pretty darn good, and it was great to sit outside on their deck - but the deck itself is looking a little worse for wear. Maybe it's just an end-of-summer thing. But we have, and we will, continue to go back.
