Very enjoyable night out. Imaginative dishes and competent (not too fussy) service. We will return to try the dishes we missed.

Server was fantastic, and flatbread delicious but took at least half hour or more to come out...(7 other people in resto)
Wine pour was small for the price.
And other dishes were tasty enough but just not very interesting...certainly not compared to all the glowing reviews I read.

Loved the restaurant and the staff and service.
Thought the food was unremarkable. Fish was very salty due to soya sauce and bavette had little flavour. Cabbage accompaniment was delicious.
So sorry wanted to love it.
Had some good wine. And a lovely cocktail made by the server.

This understated Bloorcourt restaurant serves delicious food which can be shared. Our group of 3 shared all the appetizers and 2 mains. There was plenty of food.
The flavors were light and savory.
Beautifully prepared steamed sea bass was the highlight as well as the scallion pancake appetizer.

We ate at Alma on a Friday evening after a very busy week. It was the perfect place to relax, have great food and excellent service. The menu of small and large plates is well thought out with enough choices to mix and max well. The pomello salad was a great shared starter with the citrus taste enhanced by chiles and salt. The lobster spaghettini was equally good. The wine list is small but again well selected - we enjoyed a refreshing Spanish white which went well with everything. We hope to be back soon.

Fabulous waitress, but the food didn’t blow me away. The entrees were on the pricey side of Toronto hipster spots and were quite low on substance. Flavours were reasonably good. Highlights were the pomelo salad and pork dumplings. Don’t bother with flatbread. It’s literally just hot flat bread. A little literal.
Our waitress was fantastic and handled the delay in our order brilliantly.

Brought my dad in since he was visiting and it was one of the most amazing meals we've had. Staff was extremely kind and accommodating even with my friend who had several allergies! The food was a perfect combination of nostalgia and adventure. Familiar enough that you recognize where the dish stems from but made with ingredients that intrigue and amaze your taste buds.

This is a nice, quiet, unpretentious place that serves up good food. We had a nice time here. The reason for the 3-stars on the food is because we felt like the Duck Hearts dish was under-seasoned and lacked flavour. My wife actually didn't finish her portion. I don't think this is because we don't like duck hearts (we are pretty adventurous with our food and we didn't mind the texture of the meat) but we just didn't find any flavour in how it was cooked. I also wish the Lobster Spaghettini had some additional flavour. However, the Pork wontons were amazing, as was the Bread + Cheese appetizer.

The service was great, and I liked the ambiance as well. The cocktails and wine were also very nice. I still think this place is worth checking out if you're in the area.

Its a nice restaurant, the food is on par in terms of taste. However not every dish is that appealing. The chef cave it and said Hi to one table but ignored all the others. Not quite sure if it's bc she didn't care about the rest or what. Either way, The food was nice and I left satisfied.

Our experience was quite nice. We were the only table at 6pm and we picked 2 snacks, 2 small and 1 large plate. We ordered the pomelo salad which unfortunately had something hard inside the salad. We can’t figure out what it was, the chef came out to apologize and gave us an extra plate complimentary as well as she didn’t charge us for the salad. The food was nice, although it was a bit smaller than I thought. Overall I appreciate the chef coming to talk to us and also providing us with an extra plate. It was very nice of her

Small, comfortable room with a relaxed ambiance.
Unusual dishes with Italian, Asian and French influences.
Some missteps:
slight over salting in pomelo salad;
pork a bit chewy.
But mostly toothsome results this evening.
Dessert a standout:
chrysanthemum ice cream on marzipan.
Smooth and friendly service.
Will be back.

The food was delicious, but a little bit too pricey for what it was. It was a cold night outside, but they need to improve their curtain situation by the door - there were very cold drafts blowing into the restaurant.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Dining out while doing the 'dry January' thing can sometimes be awkward but the staff happily recommended nice teas. Service was exceptional, and the food was really nice, especially the roasted beets and chicken fried rice in lotus leaves. Looking forward to going back in the spring.

Wonderful food and ambiance at a surprisingly affordable price. We grazed on a series of small plates during two and a half hours of intimate conversation. Everything was good but I particularly recommend the flatbread, the rapini dip, and the sweet potatoes.

We had an incredible meal at Alma. We tried 6 dishes between the two of us and everything was spot on. I'm still dreaming about the flatbread. Everything is really fresh and seasonal. Plus, they have a great selection of wines and digestifs.
