My wife was looking forward to having clam chowder and sweet potatoes with her clam bake but they did not have any. Instead it was butternut soup and grilled white potatoes. However it all tasted very good. I ordered the potato crushed Halibut which tasted very good but was over cooked (dry) and it came with both sweet and white potatoes. I think it was plated incorrectly, the sweet potatoes should have been on my wife's dish. My other guests had Samoan Rolls and Tuna Poke bowels which were very good tasting and fresh.
Outstanding. Your choice of several great seafood dishes along with aged steaks and you really can't go wrong. Lots of appetizers too but we go with the sushi, prepared in a "Kimo" style or with traditional rolls. Nick is a brilliant chef and this place is a can't miss location. Bring a bottle of red or white and enjoy your dinner.
Excellent food! Love the patio space too
Only ordered sushi, but was not impressed. The seaweed was like triple thick and could not be bitten through. We ordered a Futomaki roll for $16 and it was basically a California roll with 3 shrimp cut in 1/2. The mango sauce was only smashed mango with no additional flavor or seasoning.
Great food , Great service! Truly enjoyed our evening
Delightful dinner and patio is perfect! Husband had the Chop and I had the Mahi - excellent. Save room for dessert too! Panna Cotta is worth it! We'll be back
Dinner was delicious
Everything was great...until the steak.
I really want to see local restaurants succeed. Went with the family 2 nights ago. Ordered a couple of appetizers, Chicken Runners & Coconut Shrimp. Spectacular. Delicious dishes. Also enjoyed a couple of sushi rolls. Fauxtails were very creative and tasty as well.
One thing, though, there was a lack of salt on everything. We asked to have some salt brought to the table. Received a small amount in a ramekin.
I'm a sucker for dry-aged steaks. I walked by the dry age steak case and decided that I would like to try one. Ordered the 16 oz Ribeye, Medium Rare.
What we received was a GREY slab of meat. No seasoning. Must have been flipped after a minute in a cold pan as it was cold in the center and the fat was completely raw. So we sent it back. It came back with a slight bit more color but was still raw. And still unseasoned. We were afraid to send it back again, and ended up putting it in the take out box our niece had for her pork chop (which she said was delicious) for the dogs.
Our server was really sweet. I could tell she felt horrible about the steak and knew that it was still less than satisfactory when it came back to the table. Service was great. I left her a 20% tip.
All in all, I think it'll be worth a revisit but I'm not sure I'd pay so much for a steak that, at least Friday night's cook, doesn't know how to properly honor. Season the steak generously with salt & use a hot cast iron pan to render the fat quickly.
Disappointed no liquor license. Food cost was extreme for Willoughby area.
Second week and much improved. Food was very good.
The sirloin filet was cooked perfectly and had great taste. Also had the coconut cream brûlée for desert and that was perfect. This is the 2nd time eating here since they opened . You can’t get any better tasting food in Willoughby. byob if you want to have alcohol.
Not as good as the original.
When you make a reservation be sure to ask whether they have been able to get their liquor license yet. You may bring a bottle of wine or whatever for a reasonable corking fee if they have not yet received the license. The delay is due to Covid.
Terrific experience. Nick is a magnificent chef; my steak and my wife’s salmon were great We will be regulars.
Food was excellent. They are still working to make the place better. It was clean.
Nice! What a beautiful day with a lovely lady.
