An exceptional dining experience — quite possibly the best food I’ve tasted in Dublin.
Having lived abroad for many years and travelled extensively, with the opportunity to experience some truly outstanding restaurants and cuisines around the world, I feel I have a fairly discerning palate. ALTA genuinely impressed me.
There was a sophistication and elegance to the food that was quite special. Every dish was beautifully considered, with exquisite flavours, wonderful balance and impeccable execution. Creative without being pretentious, refined without losing the sheer pleasure of eating really delicious food.
And to experience the final menu shaped by Niall Davidson’s journey makes it all the more special. You can sense the thought, experience and personality behind the food — it feels like a fitting expression of everything he has brought to ALTA.
I’m genuinely so sad to hear that it’s closing. Dunlin is loosing something very special. ALTA is a restaurant of real originality, quality and ambition, and this final menu is a wonderful testament to that.
Exceptional food, an exceptional restaurant, and an experience I’ll remember and very much miss.
