Allsopp & Chapple Restaurant + Bar
Excellent service, food and cocktails
I like Allsop. I just wish that pacing on food coming out was more prompt and timely.
We made a reservation and went on a couples date night. Our meals were great. The restaurant was totally packed and the vibe was fun for a Saturday night!
Awesome service to start lead to my wife having the filet with grilled sweet potatoes and the lasagna was my pick and we shared a salad of which it was all excellent!!
We had a wonderful time ...great food and drinks!
6 of us came for lunch on a Wednesday. The food was excellent. I had the lasagna with salad and the others enjoyed their dishes as well. The service was just right. I can't recall our server's name but she provided top-notch service. Great place for a business lunch. I will come back again.
Great new restaurant, classy, fun and great artwork/pictures of old Little Rock downtown. My third visit and the food has been excellent each time.
We love to eat at this restaurant. It never fails, food and service are is great and pricing is good.
Quaint little restaurant in Little Rock. We stopped in here en-route from Dallas to NY. We were not disappointed. The menu was diverse and the food terrific.
I have to add the ambiance was appealing and the staff very cordial.
I had Halibut and my wife had the trout, both excellent dishes. Caprese salads and desserts were also very good. Wife loves the bread pudding. Service was very good and noise level was low. We will definitely make return visits.
Enjoyed the live jazz in Thursday night. The caprese salad had the trafional components (tomatoes, mozzarella, basil with a rich balsamic vinegar dressing and was beautifully presented in a stack. The addition of fresh peaches was not necessary nor did they add to the salad because they were underripe and brought to the table separately with no added dressing. It was the only misstep if our meal. My shrimp and grits entree was perfectly spiced and unctuous in taste and texture. The speciality dessert of a warme white chocolate and raspberry bread pudding drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with vanilla gelato was sensational and deserving of all the rewards it’s recruved! Loved the continuation of the bookstore theme with the cocktails named after literary works such as Catcher in the Rye and The Great Gatsby. Each cocktail had a unique twist to the traditional recipe that added unexpected flavor combinations. The circa 1900 Building that housed a bookstore for six decades was thoughtfully restored for the restaurant and a nod given to the founders of the bookstore, Mr.’s Allsop and Chappell.
Love the Bread Pudding! Food was great and service was excellent!
Our first visit, and we were pleased. Our server (Greg) was top-notch. Tracey enjoyed the grilled salmon, and my ahi tuna was maybe the best I've ever had.
We had supper for two couples before attending a play at the Rep. The food was very good. Allsopp & Chapple is a good addition to the Little Rock food scene.
Love the ambience, food, service-the chef even made time to come out and speak to us! The bartender came to our table to make sure he made my drink right. We’ll be going back! It was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time!
It’s just ok.
Service was great. Food just kinda so so.
The food was delicious and did not disappoint. The ambience is great, and the service was high quality.
THE ONLY downside of my experience with Allsopp and Chapple is that I am Gluten Free by necessity. They have many items listed on their menu as gluten free. When my actual 'gluten free' salad arrived I was told that the warmed goat cheese, that was on my salad was not gluten free at all. Two things, 1) they should never label something gluten free if it's not. Then people don't know to ask more questions, and then they get to be sick. 2) They could have easily made the item in question gluten free by using gluten free breading; something that is easy to find and use in this day and age.
Celebrated my wife's birthday there and it couldn't have been better.
The food was great and the staff was very attentive.
We'll definitely go back
We ate at A & C on Thursday night. They have free valet parking right in front! The restaurant was not crowded yet fairly lively. Live jazz was a nice surprise and not too loud. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. My wife and I spilt a very nice salad and the veal chop. Even split it was more than we could eat, perfectly cooked with a great sauce. My daughter had lasagna which she raved about and had leftovers the next night. Save room for yummy desert! The wine list is fairly short but nicely varied (although out of the Sinskey pinot noir I ordered). This was the 2nd time we've had dinner and it will be one of our "go to places" for downtown dinners!
Food was good, enjoyed the fish dishes.Seems friendly
Pacing of serving could be improved.I find it a little frustrating when main courses arrive before we finished appetizer. In some places, this seems to be accepted practice and it does not bother some but I do not like it myself.
Really great food and service. 3 of 4 entrees were fantastic. One steak was undercooked. But to their credit, they wrote off the steak and a round of drinks. They also gave us a free and awesome dessert. Highly recommend.
Great drinks. Steaks cook ro perfection. Wife got the special. Awesome!
Highly recommend. Very good food and service.
Was not aware of this restaurant until my son-in-law from Baton Rouge asked about it. Location was very accessible, with parking nearby at reasonable rate. Cocktails were very good. Food was excellent. Pork chop and fish ( halibut and trout ) entrees were cooked perfectly. We will definitely return, and soon.
We had 5 for dinner. Entrees did not arrive together, rather two then one the two more. Need to indicate in menu or by server that you make your own tonic water and how spicy some drinks are.
A dark restaurant with an austere presentation. There was nothing on the tables except a napkin roll of silverware and a water glass.
The food was disappointing. My wife's trout with crab meat had crab meat that was absolutely cold. The green beans were not fully cooked. My shrimp and grits provided grits that were bland and with little texture.
It was amazing that a restaurant with almost nobody in it did not have better service. There was lots of staff in the establishment but there was not much interest in whether or not we were satisfied with our food.
Fantastic food and service! Had friends in from out of town and they were very impressed! We will be back soon!
Great service, food and ambiance. Plus complementary valet parking. 👍😋
I felt like the NY Strip was not as amazing as it should have been for the price.
This is quite possibly the best restaurant in Little Rock. Chef Bonner Cameron and his talented staff turned an old bookstore into a relaxing environment where patrons can enjoy a truly rewarding dinning experience. Whether you checkout the Catch 22 or the Catcher in the Rye, any of the creative bar selections are worth a try. Most memorable selections on the dinner menu that are a must, include Allsopp's Charcuterie Board & Heritage Berkshire Pork Chop. We're already looking forward to the next visit.
Nice restaurant. Enjoyed the food. Shrimp and grits were a little bland. Music was a tad loud.
Our bartender Jared was AMAZING! Highly experienced with craft cocktails. I had a French 75 with cognac instead of vodka and he made my mother a knock-your socks off cucumber cocktail that was very well balanced.
The tuna nachos were amazing as well.
Food and drinks were very good. Wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The entrees were outstanding (pork chop and tuna) as was the dessert (cinnamon flan with blueberries). All and all it may be a new favorite place
Incredible place in downtown LR. Went here on a recommendation from the hotel and couldn’t have happened on a better place! Meal and wait staff were outstanding. Will absolutely return.
Great food and service in a comfortable dining atmosphere.
Food was great!
A little pricey, but outstanding. Would love to try the Sunday brunch!
Need a better representation of wines by the glass.
