Everything was amazing. Must get the chocolate mousse cake.
Great place. We'll definitely come back. Price was a bit more than we expected. Wait staff was excellent.
A fantastic dining experience. Food was excellent, service attentive, wine list unbelievable. Amazingly evening!
Had the SOMM+CHEF - Tartufi dinner this time around with wine parings. The truffle dinners are special events; expect a surprise dish or wine/food pairing or two or three. It's a splurge, yes, but well worth it. A great opportunity to learn about relatively obscure (for us in the US) Italian varietals and producers.
I have visited Allora 4 times now and I have always enjoyed it. This most recent visit was less than ideal. The main reason being for my reservation. I made a reservation for 8pm. My party was not seated until 8:30pm.
The food was absolutely amazing! Everything we ate was out of this world. The service was also outstanding!
Food and service were outstanding. Noise was too loud.
By far, Allora is our favorite restaurant in Sacramento! Always something new! Everyone seems to always have their “A Game” on. Having a Sommelier (they have more than one) makes picking a single wine that pairs well with a diverse choice of food all that more enjoyable!
Great food and great service.
Our server was very good, but the service did not meet expectations for reasons that appeared beyond his control. It took much too long to get a glass of wine. Our server attributed the delay to the bartender being "a little behind on drink orders." Our appetizers and salads were served promptly, but we waited far too long for our entrees. Allora has a unique and very nicely-curated wine selection and the food menu is refreshingly adventurous, beautifully presented and mostly very good. But a restaurant that clearly wants to be a cut above should make sure that it's patrons are promptly served drinks upon their arrival. If a sommelier is not available, then servers should be allowed to pour wine; they should not be relying on a single bartender.
Lovely and delicious as always.
Great service by David and wine selection by Touchard, the sommelier. Also Chef Lee served us the selection of oyster which were very very fresh.
Our first visit to Allora was quite good. Very pretty place. Above average service. On to the food...our first course highlights were the amazingly fresh Wescott Bay oysters and the creamy fennel and ink polpo. The 3X parmigiana risotto was also very tasty. We had a miss on a “first night” entree special but our server took the lead and made it right so we soldiered on and enjoyed the osso buco! Amazing wine list is so worth reading if you (like us) love Italian vino.
It is a classy restaurant which purposely takes it's time so if you are not there for the full restaurant experience Allora isn't for you. They have a outside terrace where they sit people and it is somewhat sheltered from the elements with heating. The inside seating is nice and what you would expect of a high class restaurant. Sitting outside is not a pleasant experience especially for the prices charged by Allora.
We sat on the patio and it was perfectly warm. There was only one waiter for the 5 tables that I saw with diners. We waited a little too long to order, but, we understood and he was busy and overworked. The food was delicious. Wine Wednesday is the day to go. Different vintages on same wine was a disappointment, but, waiter went and got another glass of something else. Will go back.
The food and service were both excellent. I felt the prices were a bit inflated, but overall we were very satisfied with the experience.
The food was delicious and the wine pairing suggestions were exactly what we wanted!
Our dining experience at Allora was simply divine! My partner and I went for our anniversary and the staff was incredible. We had multiple members of walk by and wish us a happy anniversary. Our waitress was Holly and she was the perfect amount of attentive. We enjoyed the pacing out of our meal, with cocktails and wines recommended for our respective dinners. Simply put, this was one of our best dining experiences, we cannot wait time go back!
Outstanding. Excellent addition to the fine dining scene in Sacramento. Food/Wine/Service on point
We had the private booth for 9 of us. Very intimate and quiet. Holly was our service and it was outstanding.
Always the best!
Wonderful, wonderful experience, once again! Superb elegant setting, comfortable chairs, expert and professional staff, GREAT Italian-heavy wine list, and BEST FOOD IN SACRAMENTO (and we've been to most of the top-end spots). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Its a nice small restaurant. The New Years portion sizes were small for the price. They charged 20% gratuity, plus another Kitchen Equity Charge. I guess I would have to expect it, but for the price the Kitchen would be a better choice. Most of the tasting menu was bland and tasted like each other. The steak was better the next day after it was heated up again. The small piece of lobster was over cooked and just tasted like most other lobsters. Sometime size doesn't matter, but the taste needs to be there, which it wasn't for the price. At least I tried it, but wouldn't go back.
We love Allora - The food, the wine, the vibe. It’s our happy place. It’s special- a Gem!
The best food ever! New Years Eve menu was the best. My new favorite restaurant!
We loved NYE there. Food was amazing. Just wish there was slightly more on the plate. Understanding that it is a seven course meal, but some plates were 3 bites. The experience is top notch, but for NYE dinner with a wine pairing for 2 almost 400+ dollars. Although we enjoyed the experience the price is a little much for what we got. Still a must try in my option.
Food was too salty. Taste is mediocre. The ravioli was hard. The smoke sturgeon was way too salty
To pay that price for pri fix was not worth it. I don’t mind paying for it if the food was good. But it was not
The food was very very good, but the service was a bit stiff--when they were at the table, which wasn't quite as often as we would have liked. It was just rather hard to relax in this atmosphere, unfortunately--and we're no strangers to fine dining. The food was beautiful, though.
Service was excellent and server was friendly and attentive. Knew the menu well. Food was tasty. We had a good experience. Great for special event. Will go back and try other dishes
Always wonderful, from beginning to end a fantastic experience.
The cuisine was excellent and the service was impeccable. We will return!
Food, service and atmosphere was perfect!
Allora is wonderful. They take food that is only ok elsewhere and make it amazing. (Get the Polpo)
Would love to come back when not a special night (was Christmas Eve). Absolutely fantastic and premimum experience on all levels. You get what you pay for, and while expensive, was worth every bit.
Simply the best; best food, best service, best wine, best ambiance. We had a fabulous Christmas Eve dinner and felt like we were dining in a good friend’s gorgeous home.
My wife and I agree; Alora is one of if not the best restaurant in Sacramento! We have only dined there twice, each time the fixed price chef's menu. At most restaurants, we would be satisfied to get good value for the money, but here every dish in our multi-course menu was absolutely perfect, offering surprising combinations of flavor and texture.
Awesome meal. Tasting menu and wine pairing were divine
Great space to dine. Food and service are stellar. If you like Italian wines and seafood, this is the place.
Made a last minute reservation which was accommodated. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly hostess and treated beautifully throughout the meal. Service was exceptional. Food tasty, interesting and beautifully presented. Restaurant tastefully appointed and very clean. High marks for a lovely dinner experience.
Absolutely amazing in every way!
