Allora is one of my favorite restaurants. Service is always great, but this time our server and the busser were rushing us a bit. Again- service is amazing and I will always return to this wonderful restaurant.
Our server, Maurice was exceptional. We celebrated our daughters birthday there and the food was to die for. A wonderful dining experience.
We loved the food and relaxed feel of this very special restaurant. We were seated outside, which was comfortable and welcoming.
Our daughter is vegan and Allora has a wonderful assortment for both vegan and non-vegan patrons, which was extremely important to us. We very much enjoyed the vegan dishes we tried--cooked/pickled/raw as an appetizer, and the bucatini and mushroom risotto for entrees. The bucatini sauce was outstanding and the risotto true comfort food. My husband had the pork dish, which he said was delicious. We all loved the complimentary bread with the delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Our server was kind enough to check and confirm that the bread was vegan.
The service was wonderful, starting with the hostess who greeted us, our server who was knowledgeable and caring, and the dining room attendant who kept our water glasses full and our table cleared. Everyone was kind and tended to us very nicely. We never felt rushed or pressured, and we all enjoyed every moment we were there.
Allora is a bit pricey, but definitely worth a return visit for another special occasion. Our family all heartily endorses this restaurant.
First time visiting Allora-really enjoyed it! Everything from the ambience, to the food, to the service was outstanding! Will be back!
Amazing food, limited drink menu.
We celebrated my husbands birthday with our friends and had a great time! We sat at the high top in the middle of the restaurant so we were able to be in the heart of the space. I enjoy the decor the and colors used. The dark green chairs and brass finishes. Against the impressive glass wine room that spanned from floor to ceiling makes this a welcoming and inviting space to dine in. The food is amazing! Unique pairings full of flavor, with a beautiful artistic presentations that your eyes eat up and warms your belly. The staff is equally excellent. Attentive, warm, and knowledgeable they are the perfect compliment to an amazing meal. Thank you for a great night!
Wonderful meal and spectacular wine- thank you!
David with two Ds was our waiter. Wonderful chap. It is our favorite place to dine. Looking forward to our next dining experience!
Always an incredible experience. The service was topnotch. The food was excellent and prepared with care. The team took great care with our special dietary requests. We love Allora!
My family went here to celebrate after earning my Masters in Education. One member of our party has severe allergies and they accommodated everything! We were so happy. The food is amazing, the wine is fantastic, and the service is perfection! I would highly recommend Allora to anyone seeking a fabulous meal with great wine and sophisticated ambience! What a wonderful Sacramento gem!
Food is very good; ambience needs improvement. Nicer table cloths and larger table would match the quality of food there.
Food was amazing and the service is so friendly. The atmosphere is beautiful.
Incredible food, impeccable service. Elizabeth-Rose is a wine master! Bravo Allora!!!!
Allora sommelier, Elizabeth, knows her return customers as well as she knows her wines. Although traveling for work and dining alone, the bartender and other bar patrons adopted me into their circles as we compared notes on our favorite wines. What a delightful assembly of people! Not least sensational was the food. As a Californian styled Italian restaurant, I was unable to find a better meal in Rome after 10 days of trying. Thank you, Allora, for a truly memorable experience!
I had scallops and the rest of the party had a mix of entrees and pasta. They did not like it at all. We lived in Italy for 10 years and this is more fusion Italian food but the flavors were not complex as they made it out to be. Looking at the pasta with crab, they mixed the crab so much, it could have been crab meat out of a can. I can overlook food, but service is another thing. Service was hands down unprofessional, slow and not on the caliber of anything remotely close to dine dining— which is what you should expect from the price. Can not recommend.
First, cooling mist fans on patio seating would be nice during summer. Our waiter was excellent, explained menu well, especially favorites and unique dishes. Waiters could use a hand or palm size table brush to clean tables after coures, instead of napkins that were not that effective. All our appiterizers, small courses, entrees and shared dessert were excellent. Wonderful flavors, presentation and new takes and techniques on classic dishes. Never rushed. Will be back.
Our sever Maurice and our sommelier T’ Shawn were excellent!
Allora is one of the two best restaurants in Sacramento. The food is spectacularly good, the flavors contrasting but balanced, each element carefully added to create complex but rewarding combinations. The pastas are exceptional in their creativity, flavor and texture, and the entrees are perfectly prepared.
There is one major way in which Allora outclasses all the competition, and that is its wine list. With a heavy emphasis on Southern European wines, Allora offers a wide variety of wines available at no other restaurant in Sacramento--and it offers tastes to allow diners to choose among a number of unfamiliar labels and varietals.
We had a wonderful, memorable meal at Allora and can't wait to return.
We visited Allora for my husband’s birthday. We sat outside on the beautiful patio (inside is equally attractive). All of the wait staff were extremely attentive and pleasant. They gave us great wine and food suggestions. The waiter actually described every single dish on the menu, not just the specials. We started with gazpacho, which was lovely, and then we had the gnocchi appetizer, which was quite extraordinarily tasty! My husband ordered the scallops, which were fantastic, and I had the steak, which was perfectly prepared and very tender. We ordered a couple of red wine flights to accompany the meal, and that turned out to be a great choice too. The prices are a bit on the high side, but definitely worth it for the whole experience. We will return! Highly recommended!
We love to eat. We have tried so many restaurants in Sacramento and recently discovered Allora. It seriously is our favorite. The wine list and the knowledge of the sommelier is unmatched. What a hidden gem!
Perfect. The best. Incredible.
Bartender was fantastic!!!! He knew the history behind cocktails and has us try a variety of wines we weren't familiar with!!! Food was amazing!!!! They let us customize menu items and has some of the best pasta and seafood around...
A perfect evening--outstanding, creative, and beautifully designed food which was exquisitely paired with the wine. This restaurant is geared towards food centric foodies that want to explore food and wine beyond the norm.
One of the best dinners I have ever had! The outdoor patio takes you away to Italy or Paris and it is right here in our own backyard. Thank you for a wonderful night and making my Dad's birthday perfect. The service was just as incredible as the food. Everyone had such knowledge of wine, food, specialty drinks... what a blast! Till next time!
Enjoyed our meal last Saturday. The main courses of Halibut and Bucatini were very good. Our Insalaia Caprese had only 2 and a half small peach slices. Compared to the tomatoes, there were not enough peaches. (peaches is the first word in the description). Also, in our dessert (Migliaccio), there were 3 very thin slices of peaches, did not care for the cake, and saying "peaches 3 ways" is really an exaggeration. The wine was very good, though a little expensive. Not sure if we will return or not.
Amazing service and food. Loved our time here...the patio was so pretty! Great service from Alex and the somm.
Fabulous place to share a birthday day with the one I love!
Incredible beautiful food. Would dine there for special occasion. But the service was so uneven. Waiter showed up then just disappeared... then showed back up to take our order, we wanted to start with apps but he insisted that we also order our main at the same time because the kitchen needed to time things to rest. I felt rushed -then annoyed. Sat with empty drink glasses for some time. Tried to make eye contact with waiter to no avail_ asked the water boy for our waiter who was still absent and end up asking the hostess for our check. Waiter then showed up the offered a dessert. I was done. The front of the house team is doing the wonderful kitchen a disservice.
Great food and decor, wonderful and attentive staff! Highly recommend!!!
Simply an incredible experience. The sommelier greeted us on arrival with a smile and an open door. We had tasty cocktails created at the bar based on two words “light” and “refreshing”, the bartender delivered!
Our food exceeded our expectations, which were already super high, since Deneb is the chef/owner.
The wine was perfectly paired to our palates and plates.
The services was seriously unbelievable. Caring, friendly and kind.
We will be back!
And $1 oyster Tuesdays!!!!!!
Service was perfect and the setting was ideal for a date. However, while the food looked nice it lacked the expected attention to flavor and texture. Very well presented but frankly not impressive beyond the presentation. This is the kind of place to go if you care about a fun experience, Instagram pictures of food, and ambiance. Don’t go here for the food.
This a wonderful restaurant, it is Italian. The pasta dishes are the best but they also serve great seafood and meat dishes. The sommelier is very helpful in choosing from their great selection of italian wines. I have dine there several times and always had a great meal.
Excellent cocktails and drink selections along with very unique and tasteful food from top to bottom, We have been there twice in 2 weeks.
My wife and I tried a little bit of everything, a cocktail, wine, appetizer, a small plate, a large plate, and dessert; with everything being top notch. The service matched the food, with the waiter being very helpful and informative without hovering. This combination of delicious food and great service made my wife's birthday dinner delightful!
My party and I believe that Allora is currently the best restaurant in town. The cucumber gazpacho was incredible as were the scallops. Great job! Also, had an excellent wine that is listed in my profile. Thanks for a great meal and evening!
We liked Allora before, but this past time was fantastic! The food was still amazing, and new dishes were perfect. However... David turned it into a Michelin experience. I cannot emphasize enough how “that man”, the kitchen staff, the hostess, and everyone made our night. My wife and I have dined a lot, and his level of service is UNPARALLELED. Do not tell Eleven Madison Park about him! This place is fantastic and we could not have been happier. A+!
The food was excellent, though the portions were small and expensive. There was a lot of staff (it seemed like there was one server for every two tables or so), which made me wonder why they need people like water pourers and food runners. It is definitely a splurge for the average Californian; not a weekly occurance. Again, the food was good, but nothing that knocked my socks off. They do have an excellent wine menu and I was impressed by the bar tenders' knowledge.
Amazing! Did not disappoint. Service was fantastic!
The patio was wonderful. Food and service are always amazing. The caprese, risotto and gnocchi were especially delicious. Kara at the bar is always great too! Can’t wait to go back.
The chef continues to refine his menu and technique. Presentation was beautiful. Probably the best trained staff I’ve experienced recently.
