Allora Ristorante, a fine-dining Italian restaurant located in the heart of Midtown, New York City. Allora counts with a rooftop skylounge offering guests and patrons a 360-degree, panoramic view of the city. Outfitted with a carrera marble bar and herringbone floors, Allora transports diners to the spirit of old New York with a well-heeled twist. Allora's menu is rooted in Northern Italian-American specialties and offers a wide selection of homemade pasta, as well superior grass-fed steaks aged in house for 28 days and classic seafood dishes like Clams Oreganata. Other specialties include tableside preparations of old-school favorites like a traditional Caesar Salad, the "Godfather" Grilled Branzino, Flambées, Zabaglione, and more. In addition, over 30 off-menu seasonal specials like Veil Chop Etna and Kobe Beef Ravioli, will be offered nightly.                                                                         Dined at this restaurant in New York at the recommendation of the hotel. Made our reservation for shortly after we’d come out of a theater production. It was the night of the Tonys and every place was booked. Arrived at the restaurant and, with the exception of the bar area, it was empty. We were seated immediately. Water was poured, wine list was presented, bread delivered and small plates of appetizers (we didn’t order) arrived. All so fast it might make your head spin. I asked about the delivered apps. The response was in such a thick accent, I couldn’t understand although we deduced they were gratis. The primary server hovered to take our order. We reviewed the menu and felt rushed to decide. Got our ordered placed. Then, as two in our party were sitting on the side of the walking aisle, they were asked to scoot in tightly to the table so a sofa could be brought through from another section. Not sure why this had to be done right then or why it could not have been done prior to opening. It was a very tight squeeze and obviously very heavy for the two employees doing the moving. Immediately after, our dinners were served. The lobster bisque was delicious. Lots of lobster. Entrees were okay. Presentation was nice. My steak was tasteless, very hard to cut (medium-rare) and needed seasoning. Risotto was good. Don’t recall what everyone ordered and there weren’t any rave remarks. Servers hovered all the time. Water glasses were refilled too often. Servers were at the ready to clear our plates immediately, asking if we were done. We were asked if we wanted dessert. We declined. And then, the check didn’t come. Typical to an Italian establishment, we had to, finally, request the check. It was quite expensive for the rushed experience and overall quality of the food. In the time we were there, only three other tables were sat. One finished and left faster than we did.

                                                                        If there were 10 stars this place would get it from me. This is a clearly a well trained staff which cares about customer experience…very impressed. The quality of the food and drink was par excellent and priced well too. We will definitely recommend it to all family and friends visiting the midtown east neighborhood for a wonderful meal and experience to remember!

                                                                        Found the food to be bland and although the restaurant was not busy at the time I ate, the noise coming from some of the staff was extremely loud. Service reasonable although I had to ask for the bill a few times.

                                                                        Our waiter scammed us with ridiculous up charges for appetizers and sides. Ordered us a pasta and a lamb course that I didn’t approve of ordering and let a non English speaking person order a porterhouse steak for 2 ($150) when she was only 1 person. After complaining he took some of it off the bill but was a sheister about the whole thing.
