We were seated in the outside where the noise level was fairly high given the patio was almost full and music way too loud (and inappropriate). We arrived at 11:30 and received our food around one. Service was slow (and somewhat indifferent). When our Benedicts arrived the eggs were hard cooked (not poached) and other ingredients were barely warm. Potatoes were deep fried and greasy. Pancakes were stiff and barely warm. Coffee was disappointing as well. When the host/manager asked how everything was, we were honest and told her. Instead of saying something such as "we're sorry we disappointed you," she became defensive and unfriendly. The server kept making lame excuses as well and seemed to care less that service was slow and food not great. He never apologized for either. We'll think twice before recommding Allister or going there again .

We had reservations a week before. Our table was way back by the kitchen and bathroom doors. Early time, should have been seated by the windows. Server was okay… didn’t know the specials or the soup when she came to our table… said she had to check. Burger was great, steak was good, pasta was awful, cold and hard. Everything was very expensive. I’m hoping Allisters steps it up this summer!! The patio is so DARK!! It should be packed every day when the sun is out!! It’s not!! Come on you guys, get it going! I want you to make it!!

The kitchen did not prepare the food as requested. Hamburger ordered medium came out well done. The fries accompanying the burger were at least a day old and cold. A steak ordered medium rare came out at least medium +. Unfortunately this is the second time we encountered food that was not properly prepared. Didn’t complain, but should have. Our server was very pleasant and professional, providing great service. I cannot recommend this restaurant and most likely will not return. Is disappointing because we would really like a great restaurant on Mercer Island.

Highly recommend. We tried multiple dishes and were thoroughly impressed by them all. Some amazing flavours that I wouldn't necessarily have thought would go together but they not only do, they do extremely well. Everything from the house breads, crabs cakes, burrata the main courses to the apple dessert were all fantastic. You can tell the Chef enjoys his job. The creativity and time that goes into all the dishes is clearly something that he is passionate about. We were recommended the chicken dish as one of the three main courses we got, honestly, the most flavourful chicken I've ever had. The duck and fish were also top notch. On top of the food, the staff were great, the environment they have created is warm and clean. I will be back for sure. Thanks for taking such great care of us, Chef Joel and all the team at Allister!
