Entrees were absolutely delicious. Desserts were great. Chef is from Farallon. Bread is $5.00 and while it is good, the portion is not worth the $5.00

The ambience and the food was great for a Monday night. We ordered oysters and my personal fav duck which was exquisite in taste.

The wine pairing was good and the server accommodated our request with tasting to different palate on the table 🥂.

Wonderful! Greta a was an amazing and thoughtful server, as were the other staff. Food was immaculate, cocktails were delicious, and wine list was an A for me.

To my surprise, this restaurant is quite good. The quality of food and services (from Andrew) were superb. Even though the menu is limited, but it covers vegan, seafood, and meat dishes. I did not know it has been opened for one year already. I know the previous restaurant. Anyway, the ambiente feels different, they must have the lighting changed. The wine list is quite good, covers different range, pricing and countries.
Since they change the menu frequently, will be back for their next new menu.

Definitely neighborhood gem.
Limited but well curated menu.
The caviar bite was definitely worth a try.
Portions of the Lobster and scallop appetizer was surprisingly generous-about 5 bites. The truffled egg and polenta was a treat-again-generous with the truffle.
I was a bit put off with the restaurant trend charging for bread...
Our entrees were equally composed appealing to the all the senses.
A not too common find was the sturgeon served with crispy skin and accompanied by farm fresh veggies, sweet potato and crunchy peanuts.
The Duck was happily gobbled up-did not get to taste but looked great-cooked medium rare with a fatty skin crown.
The Short Rib looked hearty-sampled the mushrooms and creamer potatoes-yum.
Cocktails were on the tart side but very festive presentation.
Round off the meal with Meyer lemon tart-nice lemon flavor came through-not too sweet-the crust was a bit hard to cut into but the surrounding embellishments were tasty-could use a little bigger scoop of ice cream :).
We appreciate the 1000k open table points and allowing us to redeem our 2500 points-most places redeem for $20 but you gave us the full $25.
The presence of owner/manager (?) is a nice touch-shows your commitment to success.
Our server was very attentive and cleared all items from table after each round.
Compliments to the kitchen staff-open kitchen but noise level was low.
As I do not cook but specializes in making reservations, you will see us back.
All in all-well done and we wish you staying power in this tough market.

The food here is very good, well above average. We started with the caviar bites, had the handkerchief past with Dungeness crab, wild mushroom soup, kale and burrata salad and poached sturgeon. All dishes were superb. Enjoyed dinner with Roederer champagne and a mezcal cocktail which was also excellent.

We had the olives, truffle soup, duck liver, housemade bread For appetizers and Beef short ribs and duck for entrée. All the dishes were very good and some have quite surprising and fantastic flavors with many layers. The only disappointment was the duck, which was promised to have a really crispy skin but there was zero crispiness to it. The Filo dough brie dessert is very interesting though. The ambience is functional and pleasant but not a highlight. Service was really attentive. Overall a very good experience and I will definitely come back but I guess my expectation was way higher after having read that it is better than French laundry and Commis.

Could think of no better way to kick off the holidays than with the chef’s tasting menu at this amazing restaurant. This is food as high art, and every single bite was extraordinary to the point where it was hard to speak about anything else. A world class experience all around. Pricey, but absolutely worth it.

We had a lovely meal on a Saturday night. All the dishes were expertly executed and the flavors were amazing. The Perigord truffle soup shot was sublime as was the braised beef short ribs. Our server was friendly, attentive and helpful with making tough choices on what to order. Will definitely be going back!

Really fantastic food and great service. For appetizers we had lightly smoke sable fish with beets in yogurt and sumac, baby kale salad with smoke trout roe, for the main course coconut poached sturgeon and duck a l'orange. Everything was so delicious with amazing flavors. Plating was beautiful. Dessert we went with ivoire white chocolate pot de crème, and was delightful. Also love the cocktails - you have to try "something's guava give".

Food was average, no dish that was outstanding. Way overpriced for the Alameda area. Several other restaurants with better menus and quality at a much lower price. Felt rushed throughout the dinner and servers were inexperienced.

The food at Alley & Vine was innovative, but not always successful. There were some stars on the menu, but other flavor combinations didn't land.

The patio is lovely and isolated from street noise, which makes for a pleasant dining experience. But the indoor space is loud and has a lot of echo, is poorly decorated, and has no real separation of space. It's cold (both decor and temp) and uninviting.

The service was exceptionally slow, despite having plenty of people on staff to serve the number of patrons.

This is a fabulous restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is the best. The chef came out to talk to my friend about her food allergies and to suggest choices that he could adjust for her.
It is great to have a restaurant like this in Alameda. It is as good or better than the top San Francisco restaurants. Plus, they have a wonderful outside seating section that is protected in the rain. This restaurant is perfect for anyone who likes well prepared and interesting food and perfect service.

Alley and Vine just keeps getting better and better. Alameda has a number of good restaurants but none that would challenge for special. For that, we have had to go off the island. This place started with plenty of potential to raise the creativity level. Now, on our third visit, it has risen from good to very good and is on its way to a Michelin star.

It’s variety of “bites” and starters has grown both in number and in stature. Several of our party of five focused on them exclusively because each represented a demand on the kitchen to produce the goods. The oysters, the duck liver, the wagyu beef taste, the house made caviar sampler, the buttery smoked sable, the surprisingly light and delicious lobster bisque all worthy of a fine dining establishment. The mains, of which there were only four, were spot-on. Perfectly cooked duck breast and beef short rib stood out.

If the restaurant can build on this latest performance, it will become a true Bay Area find. It is already a gem of a local for Alameda foodies.
