   I've been coming to Allen's since 1988. It has been consistently excellent. Now I'm an old lady and me and my 93 year old friend have lunch there once a month. Always wonderful. Never ever had a bad meal

   I used to live in the Broadview and Danforth area many years ago, and Allen’s was a regular hangout. When I was looking for a place to meet friends from out of town, I chose Allen’s because of its convenient location and my previous positive experiences there—great food, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. This time around, the staff were excellent, even as it got busy—no complaints there. However, I was very disappointed with both the quality of the food and the pricing. I ordered the calamari and a small green salad. The batter on the calamari was tasteless and crumbly, falling off the squid, and the salad was nothing more than a small pile of greens with about a teaspoon of dressing—far too expensive for what was served. I hesitated to ask my friends what they thought of their meals because I was already embarrassed for having recommended Allen’s. The food used to be exceptional. I don’t mind paying more for good food, but in this case, it simply wasn’t worth it. The music was, in my opinion, quite loud, making it difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices. I really don’t understand why restaurants play music at such high volumes—things get loud enough, as it is, once the place fills up. Going forward, I’d still consider going to Allen’s for drinks in summer on the patio, but I’ll be choosing one of the many other food options on the Danforth for dinner.

   A keystone restaurant in our city! If you have not experienced Allen’s on Danforth or not visited in a while; must go! The burger is done to chef’s recommendation (true steakhouse burger style)! There is something for everyone on the menu, staff/service is amazing and the best patio in the city!…must sit under the grand willow tree! Thank you Allen’s for another great experience!

   Night of a concert and leafs game….short staffed due to university students not starting yet but it was still an awesome experience.

   Allen’s is always a satisfying and enjoyable place to meet up with friends! As a vegetarian, the options are somewhat limited but they are always happy to substitute or modify to accommodate me.

    My supper mates enjoyed their burgers. Fish and chips very sub par. Maybe the cooking oil wasn't fresh? And to be honest, very mediocre fries. I make better from scratch.
