   We visited Allegro on two successive nights in late July both times bringing friends. The first was excellent, especially the pasta special at $18.00. The second occasion the salad included a small and active worm. We returned the salad with the worm to the server and got the comment that "all of our ingredients are locally sourced and organic so we occasionally see a worm"(!). There was no attempt to replace the salad nor any other comment. When we received the bill, we again asked the server about the worm incident and, after repeating the same statement as above, said she would take the price of the salad ($5.00) off the check "if we wished" . In our experience with good establishments, most would have made more of an effort to remove what might be called an "unsavory taste" from dining there. Allegro provides a very nice atmosphere with well-spaced tables and attentive service. The wine list, primarily Italian, lists few inexpensive (e.g., under $35.00) bottles of interest.
