Mario & Allegra Perez met when they began working together in an Italian restaurant in Santa Monica in 2000. In 2008, they started their first restaurant, Tortuga Bay, which features authentic dishes from Mario's hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico.

In 2019, Mario & Allegra decided to recreate a similar type of restaurant in which they met: California-Italian cuisine for the neighborhood and families to gather and enjoy locally-sourced meals. Allegra California Café offers healthy alternatives, hearty comfort foods, and vegetarian and vegan options. We proudly serve Lavazza coffee as well as beer, wine, & wine-based cocktails.

Staff is very friendly and knows the menu well. Food is delicious and serving size is plentiful. Atmosphere is more casual than we expected, but the food and service more than make up for it. Plan to return soon.

This is our "go-to" local Italian restaurant! We enjoyed the indoor dining option since it was a little breezy in the back "umbrella" patio. We enjoyed the seafood pasta and the Salmon!

Food was great - the lasagna so incredibly delicious but warning the Diabola pasta is very spicy. Love the patio with the umbrella ceiling very pretty!

It’s my girl-group’s favorite place so I introduced my husband to it for his birthday. The drinks were great, food is delicious, and the service is warm and friendly. It’s an enjoyable experience and you’ll find yourself planning your next visit.

What a lovely place! They make their sauces, bread and crème brûlée from scratch. Server could not be nicer, food was so tasty. Would definitely go back!

We ate outside. Really nice patio but hard to get your legs under the table due to the awkward placement of the table legs. Very accommodating regarding apecial requests.

Enjoyed vibe but super busy do to rain and didn’t get seated on time with a reservation. But service was excellent and they gave us complimentary apps and food was great.
