Alla Famiglia has been delighting local and traveled guests in this very same location for over two decades. This "diamond in the rough" is conveniently located on the hilltop of Pittsburgh's South Side. Boasting a fine dining atmosphere, its family owned and operated, and promises to deliver a consistent product with every visit. You will be greeted and treated like family, as you enjoy homemade scratch Italian specialties, an award winning wine list, and complex scratch cocktails. Dine in an old world atmosphere under paddle fans, exposed brick, antiquities from all around the world. Six unique and interestingly decorated dining rooms comprises the character of this institution which started with just 8 tables, 25 years ago. Choose from daily provisioned fishes and exotics from the sea, dry and wet aged Prime beef, tender milk fed veal, and homemade maccheroni are just some of the choices you will have to select from. Crown the evening with our pastries prepared on site.

While we had a lovely experience at Alla Famiglia yesterday, I did want to alert others to what we noticed when we got home. While the small piece of chicken we had at the restaurant yesterday was fine, one of our leftover pieces of chicken had a completely raw section (about half of the breast) when we opened our leftovers today- this picture is after the chicken reheated in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes so I can imagine it would have looked much if we had cut into it when it initially came out of the kitchen last night. Just wanted to put this out there as while the service is excellent, this was very alarming.

Second time there. We went back because we had a good experience but this second time did not meet expectations. The veal was too fatty and actually very little served compared to how much sauce they gave. Overall, found everything way too salty. Drinks from the bar were also overrated, seemed watered down. The tiramisu also tasted a little freezer burned. We won’t be worried about going back anytime soon for the amount of money they charge.

alla famiglia is not just an Italian restaurant, it is an experience! the money is well worth it. we had multiple things on the menu, all of them delicious. you will have leftovers for DAYS-go hungry!!

I recently dined at Alli Famiglia Italian Restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience! Our server, Daisy, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The Filet Gorgonzola was the best filet I've had in the Pittsburgh area, surpassing even the upper-class steakhouses. It was perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The New York Strip was another highlight; it was a giant serving, cooked to perfection, and absolutely delicious. The Seafood Diavola was spectacular, showcasing fresh ingredients and bold flavors. We also enjoyed the pasta and salad, both of which were delightful. To top off our meal, we indulged in the Raspberry Tiramisu and Limoncello Crème Brûlée—both were amazing and the perfect sweet ending to our dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Alli Famiglia for anyone looking for fantastic Italian cuisine. I can't wait to return!
