I really enjoyed being here because our server and the accompanying support staff were excellent. My filet mignon and my son’s strip were wet aged for 21 days but were more mushy than delicious which truly impacted the overall score. My wife veal piccata was amazing, and my other son’s chicken lemon was great if you really like lemon. We tried both the cacio e pepe and the cavatappi alla vodka and definitely preferred the cacio e pepe. It was delicious. I wish the steaks would have been better but they just were just meh. If they were then this review would be 5 stars for sure.

We were about ten minutes late due to some storms, but they were very accommodating (we let them know in advance). Once we were seated, the waiter greeted us relatively promptly, read us almost the entire menu, then disappeared for 13 minutes. That is a pretty long time. But here is the weird part: Their entrees come with pasta and salad, except for one pasta entree that only comes with salad. My husband ordered this, and I ordered only the pasta and salad (which they allow since they do not offer any vegetarian entrees) and no main course. About 10 minutes after we had our salads, the waiter brought my pasta. I politely waited for my husband’s meal. Probably five or ten minutes later, the waiter came to ask how I was enjoying my pasta course. I guess he thought I wanted to eat pasta alone, and my husband wanted to eat his entree alone? I told him I was waiting so that we could eat together, and about five minutes later he brought my husband’s entree. Just not the level of service you would expect when entrees cost $50 - $110. Food was decent. The house salad is basically trail mix dressed in sugar and oil with some lettuce and radicchio. It was full of raisins and walnuts and the sweetest salad dressing I have ever had. I found it strangely good, but I have a sweet tooth. And I would have preferred a bright, acidic dressing without sugar. Same thing on the house vodka pasta - the sauce was overly sweet. The pasta was also overcooked. I did like the hot oil they bring to drizzle over the pasta. They bring bread to start - for free - accompanied by “holy oil”, which is hot peppers in oil, and a white bean dip. The holy oil and white bean dip were really good. The bread seemed like it would have been good but was very dry. Decent wine list with lots of by the glass options. I was skeptical because they misspelled Veneto, but my Nebbiolo was good.
