All Set Restaurant & Bar

First time visiting All Set. While the menu is somewhat limited, the food we chose was all good. The Lobster Roll was delicious. The ribs were also good. We had the Challah Bread Pudding for dessert and it was delicious.
My favorite neighborhood restaurant. Never dissapoints!
The seemingly good reviews and location actually prompted me to make a lunch reservation so it wasn’t crowded at all. With that being said, I was definitely expecting a good experience for two people but that wasn’t the case. The ambience is excellent and very comfortable, but our waitress didn’t seem like she was in the best mood and don’t recall her checking in to make sure we were satisfied. The food was not what either of us were expecting either. It was not seasoned well and seemed like it had been reheated rather than cooked fresh as it was lukewarm. I don’t think I would go back. It was underwhelming given the price we paid for simply good ambience.
The food was fine but not plentiful. The service was good and the wait staff was very pleasant.
I absolutely love the food and service at this restaurant. And the wine? To die for! :-) the food portions are just right and the servers are very professional and kind. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a nice, quiet lunch and/or dinner.
We loved everything about this place, especially the happy hour on Sunday! The pink drink is one of the best I’ve had. We will be back!
Nice little quaint place. Never overly crowded. I have a friend that lives across the street. Nice neighborhood spot.
Great food and service, highly recommend
Noise level was high, restaurant was cold, server was not knowledgeable. When asked for a gin and ginger ale, she said"we have ginger beer." We had to repeat things to her and because it was too cold, we asked for napkins to put around our shoulders. She asked if we meant paper napkins. My ribs and french fries were cold, but I didn't return them. Mussels and lobster roll was just OK.
I have eaten in LOTS of places in DC, and this Silver Spring location is downtown but the food and ambiance doesn't measure up.
Our experience was just okay. The service was a little slow for my liking. The food was good. The old bay wings were very crunchy but ultimately lacked some flavor. The pancakes were good as well as the side of bacon (very generous portion and cooked to perfection).
I liked All Set overall and found that yelp reviews provide a fairly accurate rating for the restaurant. It is still new and can improve some things like waiting service and menu diversity, but it is definitely off to a good start. My favorite thing about the restaurant is its physical layout, decor and configuration. Whoever designed the space did a great job because I instantly felt like I was at a marina somewhere in the Caribbean.
Our waiter was not professional at all , we asked if we can get another drink instead of the one we ordered . He said sorry your drinks are on the way.
Service was well-intentioned but shaky. Drink order was wrong but quickly fixed. Soup came out at the same time as the entrees (which also didn’t all come out at once). No offer for a second drink until the end of dinner. For an otherwise nice — and expensive, for Silver Spring — restaurant, the service needs to be more polished.
All Set is a great choice for lunch. I have not yet had the pleasure of eating dinner here. My dining companion and I both got salads - big portions, fresh, and easily customized. Our server got our substitutions and changes exactly right. I had the Lobster Cobb; I would highly recommend it!
We were glad to get a table outside because inside was too loud. We requested the tuna tartar appetizer (which is no longer on the menu) and it was excellent. Entrees were good, too.
We received a gift card for All Set and went there to celebrate our anniversary. It was great! My husband loved the beer, and the lobster roll, I loved the Branzino! Everything was great! our server, Kia, was very nice, and knowledgable and patient. We will be returning soon.
Jake our server was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable and expedient. We had a combination of happy hour items and regular dinner fare. Oyster po boy and Maine lobster roll were tasty and perfectly seasoned. Dessert was the Challah Bread Pudding with Gelato which topped off the evening quite nicely. Will definitely be back. Love the location in Silver Spring but away from the hubbub.
Good food and staff
Great place for dinner
We had requested an outdoor table with our reservation and when we arrived the table they had set aside was taken by another party who had just went and sat at it. The hostess and manager immediately set us up with some complimentary oysters. They were able to get us seated fairly quickly after that. Great service and food.
Kid-friendly with an excellent treasure box that kept the kids entertained. We sat outside and the ambiance was nice, but service was quite slow and our waiter waited a long time before checking back in after food arrived (needed extra napkins and water refills). Black bean burger was quite dry and need lots of sauce (in line with waiter’s warning) and chicken sandwich was better but not great. It’s probably a better place to grab drinks and appetizers with friends or coworkers.
Food always on point and happy hour specials are added bonus.
Awes all around!
The specialty cocktail drinks are delicious and fresh. All of the food is delicious, I've gone there a handful of times and have yet to have a bad experience.
We went here for a Mother's Day dinner and the ambience and service are great. The food is good but the portions are tiny and expensive. We would have left hungry except we ordered dessert -- something we normally do not do. The ricotta doughnuts are amazing.
It is always a great time—It has become my favorite neighborhood haunt!!
I love this place. food is fresh and terrific. Service too. Ambience nice. It can get noisy if it is full, but still worth it. AND if it is nice day and you can sit outside, then it is quiet!
Went on a Wednesday night with my almost-4-year-old daughter (whose tastes are a little more sophisticated than the average toddler). They have a kids' menu but that's not really her speed. They brought a little tin of small toys to the table for her entrainment while I perused the menu. We ordered the Old Bay wings appetizer and the shrimp with polenta main course. Both were excellent but the best was definitely the shrimp course with its perfectly prepared polenta and andouille sausage (my daughter found the sausage a little too spicy for her but I thought it was superb). The sauce was the real star of the show. At the end the server even offered to bring me a spoon to get the last of it, an offer which I gladly accepted. All in all, a great experience. I will definitely eat there again. I heartily recommend it equally for a casual weeknight occasion (prices are a little steep for an everyday type of meal) or a more special occasion like a date night. Excellent food, excellent service. Go.
Love this place. Great food and ambiance. Every one at my table always enjoys their food.
Exceptional food and they were very accomodating to try to find a table that was a little quieter as there was a large noisy party going on. We will definately be back !
My only wish for this place is that the servers did not rush you through your meal. Our host lurked a LOT--and we were celebrating my dad's birthday (a BIG deal)--our family intended to have a nice leisurely meal and linger a bit. Our host came to us multiple times throughout the meal pushing us along with our order. She asked for our entree orders only minutes after we arrived and received our first round of libations. They also cleared unfinished drinks from the table--which we took as a sign to "hurry up". We got the check literally moments after we ordered coffee and advised that we needed more time with the dessert menu! Subsequently, it was a very quick gathering. When the check came, our host literally stood over my shoulder as I looked through my wallet for my credit card--I had to ask her to give me more time (which was something I found myself asking throughout the meal). I don't know if they just needed the table, but I really felt the pace of our meal was too fast--which sucks because we rarely are able to get together as a family like that. Now the GOOD--they immediately give kids a box (yes, a full BOX) of treasures to play with at the table when they walk in. My 4 year old thoroughly enjoyed that--and we appreciated it as well. (With a welcome like that, you'd actually expect the pace to be a little slower with service since it clearly frees the adults up to converse more among the group.) Anyway, I thought it a very nice touch. Also the food was delicious--the sriracha biscuits were divine, and so were the chickpea fries. The vegan at the table enjoyed his veggie burger (although he said it was slightly under-seasoned). And my dad got his birthday wish--some delicious seafood. Clam chowder, crabcakes, trout with crab, fish and chips--all really yummy. The drinks were also good--like oldfashioned good. I would definitely come back for the food--just hope the waitstaff slows down some.
great menu. very good food and service. parking convenient. great location.
Food was good except for two orders - avocado toast and waffles. The waffles are basically frozen reheated waffles and very disappointing.
Great lunch menu selections.
Great price .
My son and I wanted seafood for Easter brunch so we decided to try AllSet. While they only had steamed shrimp and half shell oysters for seafood dishes the other brunch/breakfast items and desserts were delicious. We also appreciated how clean and natural the food tasted. The restaurant is spacious and a little noisy but festive for the holiday. The only downside was the $45/person brunch cost and very expensive cocktails. There was no way we could eat $45 worth of bacon, eggs, salads and pancakes. We only ate a small amount of the seafood and skipped the drinks until we got home. All in all AllSet is good and I would recommend it, just be ready to $$$!
All Set was definitely a nice restaurant. My mother and I went for Easter brunch. They did not offer an a la carte menu on this day probably due to it being a holiday. This was fine, but I just wish there were more options. The buffet was ok, but for the money it could have been better. Otherwise, we definitely enjoyed the ambiance and will try to come back.
$45 brunch buffet is overpriced for the area, especially considering alcoholic drinks aren’t included. Still, I love All Set - just won’t be doing the brunch buffet in the future.
We went to their Easter Brunch, and it definitely was not worth $45/person. There was a small selection of not particularly good food, and the price didn't include even one drink, not even coffee or tea . We've had dinner here before and enjoyed it, but this was a very poor experience.
If you want a bar experience with good food it's fine; but I'd never go there again as a restaurant. I'm not one for screaming across the table.
