Great friendly service and delicious food! Got vegan dal, gobi aloo, kabuli cholay. All highly recommended. Quaint decor and ambience as well, and right around the corner from a couple of fun bars, which makes it a good date spot!
This is probably better than other Indian restaurants in Pasadena but I’d still rate this no more than average. The dessert was terrible. We tasted it and left the rest untouched.
Incredible food and amazing service, as always! We had a lovely evening, thank you. :)
Not sure maybe the way food is prepared here is from a different region of India. Had vindaloo but it wasn’t creamy like usual. More like a salsa type with a lot of spice flavor that had that kick! Seemed like they used Serrano or jalapeños in the sauce also.
Mango juice tasted like it was just canned brand JUMEX juice. Waitress wasn‘t pretty attentive. Once our order was taken she never came back until we were ready for the check, and we needed drink refills.
Good food at a great price. Staff were lovely throughout. Overall vibe is upmarket casual. Great variety of choice for vegetarians. I had Shahi Paneer my partner had Nirvana Chicken we split rice and Naan and left full. Good spot for date night or a casual catch up with a friend.
Good flavor of course we will comeback everyting was good
We have been to All India Cafe many, many times and we do love it! Food is great. The only caveat is this, the service is ONLY good if the owner is there!! If he or someone from his family is not in the restaurant, the service is just awful. It's shocking the difference...and all the same wait staff! On this particular visit, a Saturday night, the owner of the restaurant was there the entire evening. To be honest, it was the best service we've had in the countless time we've been there. On other visits, we have asked for water that took several requests before it arrived, we have waited over an hour for our food, we have looked for wait staff who were nowhere to be found....etc. etc.
I wish these workers had a better attitude when the big boss wasn't there!! But otherwise, we do very much like it here!!
The Indian iced tea with a hint of mint & cream was refreshing for a warm summer day as today!
We all chose from the lunch specials and were not disappointed.
The lamb biriyani was exceptional, the tandoori shrimp was flavorful & spicy, the fish was excellent.
The service was just right.
Food is very delicious, which has kept me coming back for years.
Our favorite Indian restaurant in the Pasadena area. Such wonderful flavors.
Always a favorite, one of the few restaurants in Pasadena I come back to again and again! It’s a lovely, moody space with great service and food to die for. Cheap drinks too!
Food is great! Love their tikka masala, lamb kebab
We have been to All India Cafe many times. We love the food...but the service is pretty awful! We had to hunt down a server to get us water when we sat down. Drink orders were finally taken and a couple of more waters requested for the other members of our party....we had to ask 4 times and it finally came abut 30 minutes later. When we didn't order our meals right away, it took the waiter another 45 minutes to come back to take the orders and another 45 minutes for our food to arrive! Our reservation was at 6:30pm, I looked at the clock at 8:20pm and we still were not eating! The place was about half full at most. When the owner's daughter arrived we asked her for our waters and she finally got the waiter to take care of us. Otherwise he was clueless and not at all helpful. Perhaps some training in Customer Service would be a good idea. Although we mentioned many times that we were celebrating a birthday, when asked about dessert we directly said, " we would love a birthday dessert for our mother, thank you!". They did come with ice cream and a candle which was very much appreciated. I understand a busy restaurant, I was in the business myself. The service here has always been mediocre to poor. They are inundated with "to-go" orders and the patrons suffer as a result. More staff perhaps?? Meanwhile, we love the food which is why we keep coming back!
Suggested this place to my new boyfriend who never had indian food. I ordered the chicken tandori and he had the salmon tandori. Aloo Gobi, Vegetable Byrani, Garlic Naan. Safe good food for a newbie. He LOVED it and we had great conversation in a cute setting. The fans above I'm not a fan of. If you don't like a breeze on you it might be a bit chilly at first but we got used to it. Also, I felt healthy the next day after gorging on it all with all the sauces. Usually I have a puffy face from food coloring or who knows what in indian cooking and sauces. This place did not have neon pink (food colored) chicken. Felt cleaner eating all around. ;)
I wish we could find an Indian restaurant in the Pasadena area with great food. All India Cafe is to Indian cuisine what Olive Garden is to Italian. Boring bland food with completely unfriendly service.
The host/server absolutely did not want to be there. Nor, I suppose did any of the kitchen staff with uninspiring interpretations of chicken curry and dal.
Not worth writing any more about this. Oh, and the host tried his best to avoid the OpenTable reservation. We’ll see if that comes through.
Loved the food, authentic and flavorful, but the service was glacially slow. It was close to an hour from when we ordered until our food was served. The restaurant was busy, but overwhelmingly so, and they could have brought the naan out first or even come by to explain or apologize for the delay.
There are a lot of choices in the area including other Indian options. Service has to be better for me to return.
Excellent food, super tasty, great traditional Indian flavors with real indian spices. Would reccomend for lunch and dinner enjoy a cute place and very authentic food. A Gem in Pasadena.
We loved every single dish.
I love this place! I've been visiting for years and the food remains consistently great.
Worst Indian food ever in the history with no service and no quality
Not worth even peeking into the restaurant
I made a reservation, and they seem to scramble to try and figure out where to seat us. Service was extremely slow, but they were friendly. The food took very long to arrive, and once it did it was very disappointing. Limited flavor and extremely bland, I could barely eat anything. I left extremely disappointed and still hungry. Waste of money and time. The Glendale location is much much better.
We (2 adults, 2 children) have visited for the second time and it was once again good, authentic food and very friendly and helpful people.
