Outstanding food is the standard. The service is attentive and friendly. The food got better course after course. It’s not cheap, but the prices are in line with other restaurants of similar caliber. However, I gladly doled out my money, because it was worth every dollar. I tend to be picky… was this worth that, and was that a fair price for this. The only conversation after this meal, was, how do we top that?
Excellent food and service (Nick). It was a little chilly but not unbearable.
I wish I would have gotten pictures but sometimes I hate being that person that’s snapping away at their food. We got TG oysters, escargot, french onion soup, the filet, the veal, and two desserts. My most fave thing was the oysters, the soup and the filet. Our server Doug was really nice and delivered prompt service. I kinda in my opinion wish the veal was served with something different, the crab meat and purée kinda stole the show away from the veal. But I’m not a chef so what do I really know. The presentation was beautiful and it was still tasty. I wish the cheesecake was a baked cheesecake but still the orange blossom flavor was wonderful. Very unique place and I would still recommend! Glad we tried it out!
Disappointing meal considering a $300 bill + tip for a family of 5.
HVAC system needs work. Not just drafty, it was windy. Watched my wife’s hair blow in her face most of the evening.
Service was very slow. We were seated 50 minutes before appetizers arrived. Meals arrived 30+ minutes later. Our waiter was replaced at some point in our wait. No plates provided with appetizers. We used our butter plates.
Food quality/taste was very good. Portions were small. Wife received only two small ravioli with her meal of lobster ravioli.
The open floor plan and cement floor made for a very loud venue.
This was our first visit to Alice's and it will not be our last. We had out of town friends with us and had a great meal and a wonderful evening. We had grouper, red snapper, and my husband tried the rabbit. All were well prepared, seasoned, and presented. Our served, Doug, prepared our Caesar salad table-side and it was fresh and tasty. We finished the meal with bread pudding and a key lime creme brulee and they did not disappoint. Alice visited our table to see how our evening had been. We will be back again soon. Highly recommend. 5 stars.
A great Mom & Pop restaurant with an upscale menu. Great for a night out!
This was our third visit to Alice's and we went with another couple. All of our courses were excellent, highlighted by the Oysters Bienville; the table prepared Caesar, entree's including the Veal Oscar, the Filet; and the Grouper. Our server, Doug, was very attentive and timely. One of the best in Pensacola. Enjoyed our visit-noticed the Wine Bar was very popular-we will try next time!
Bar and wait staff were excellent. Food excellent.
What a breathe of fresh air. Two options: 1) Bar Option, keeping it casual 2) Fine Dining Option. What a wonderful idea!! Food did not disappoint. Crab cakes were probably the best crab crakes I have had in a while. Already planning our next trip back.
Food was good, server was nice, happy to get a close parking spot.
My wife and I came with our daughter and son in law. We had the veal, grouper, sea bass and lamb chops. As far as taste goes all were good. I wouldn’t say any were “knock your socks off” quality but they were good. My wife and I eat out a lot and have had some awesome meals so we have plenty of meals to compare it too. Probably liked the lamb best (yea I tried a bite of everyone’s) followed by the veal, grouper and sea bass. What I was a little disappointed in was the presentation of the sea bass. It was just a piece of fish with a scoop of risotto by it. It just needed some color. The other three plates looked like they could go on the cover of a magazine.
Service was exceptional. Price was reasonable for fine dining and the atmosphere was great also. They had a sax player in the wine room. Noise level was fine for conversation.
I would recommend this restaurant but I know there are numerous quality restaurants in Pensacola so we’d probably try something different on out next night out.
We had a great night at Alice’s! Dave our waiter took great care of us and made a terrific table side Caesar Salad (just like in classic restaurant) that was wonderful. The Steak au poivre was great. The Lobster Ravioli was great and came with Shrimp which was an added surprise. We had a formal event that night and they got us in and out quickly but we still had the full service dining experience! Thank you Alice for a wonderful night!
An excellent restaurant in the Pensacola area that few people know about. Very good food. Great veal, steaks, and fish. table side caesar salad. Very good wine selections at good prices. Good parking which is a plus compared to the crazy parking around downtown pensacola. You should try it.
Wednesday night in the bar with the string quartet was perfect. Sun-dried Tomato Chilean Sea Bass was mouthwatering!
Food fantastic as usual. Very slow service.
This was an exceptional tasty meal. there were 3 of us and we all had a different meal and all were outstanding. Service was excellent, we ate in the bar and it was a real nice atmosphere.
We had a fabulous first time experience. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic. Our server Robbie was very helpful, informative, and fun. The food was good. We had the Pollen and Pearls oyster appetizer, french onion soup, Main Street grouper, Lamb, and orange blossom cheesecake. Would definitely recommend.
Great food...sea bass was terrific. Missed having the table side caesar salad. Fun evening all around.
The service was impeccable, and all of the appetizers and entires were delicious. We will definitely return!
Mariah was a great server, with a keen wit and fun banter. We enjoyed the lounge booth sitting and the excellent saxophone player. Would have appreciated a little more cleanliness of the booth seats and table, as both were sticky. The filet was superb, as was the sea bass. The scallop appetizer hit the spot, as the purée was excellent.
Hands down best place in Pensacola!!!! This was our second visit. Zac was our host. That dude is cooler than a fan! Makes a bomb Caesar salad! With employees like that makes this place top notch! We asked for a cake bread 15 and they delivered.
The food and ambience were great and noise level made conversation easy but the service was slow (for example: our empty soup bowls sat in front of us for quite a while and out drinks were empty for much too long without offer of a refill. We enjoyed our meal but the experience was not on par with other fine dining we have had. Simply did not live up to the hype. I think we would recommend the wine bar to friends but not the fine dining.
Our first time and Very impressed with the decor and the dining room. Staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was great. We will definitely be back.
Everything was fabulous. Service, cocktails, outstanding steak and grouper, plus soft shell crab and key lime creme brûlée. Highly recommended for special occasions.
Trying hard for fine dining but not quite hitting the mark.
We had reservations made over 1 week ago. When we arrived we were in need of a handicapped space and the only one of two that was opened was reserved? As we entered we were greeted warmly, escorted to the area of casual dining, and confusion ensued. They did not have a table ready for our party of 6. Though there were two other tables, dressed for 6 ready and reserved. We waited a good 5 minutes, we’re seated at two tables placed together in an awkward area. The maître d’ began to set the table in a disturbed, angry way by slamming bread plates and dinnerware down on the table. Giving the impression we were unwanted, or in welcome. The waitress assigned to our table was pulled and another was assigned to us. This girl was very clumsy and nervous, she dropped things and made much of a blunder. In all between the appetizers and our meal there was maybe an hour wait. Out of 6 people eating 6 completely different meals there was one happy with their meal. All in all we came away very disappointed.
Very very good food. The table side Caesar salad for 2 was to die for. Everything was delicious. I can’t wait to go back again!
Both the food and the service were top notch. Wine selection is best in Pensacola. Loved meeting Alice and this restaurant is quickly becoming one of our all time favorites.
The bar/ drinks were not good did not taste like I had had before. Had to send one back could not drink. Food was ok not as special as I had heard. Entertainment was good, sax player. Would not return
We went to Alice's to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation. She is a foodie! We had the smoked gouda oysters, stuffed shrimp, and charcuterie board as appetizers - all fabulous (dip your bread from the charcuterie board in the sauce from the stuffed shrimp!). For entrees the rabbit, veal oscar, and pecan duck - all amazing. Nick, our server, was fabulous and knowledgeable. The only issue we had was the air blowing very cold and right at us. We were there right at opening and it was very humid that day, but the AC blowing was quite cold and uncomfortable.
Overall, we loved it and will definitely go back.
Great food and service!
We ate on wine bar side. The food was not up to par with the dining side it was also very loud and our waitress was stressed with her work load. I did notice when Alice walked around things were accomplished better.
We went for my wife's birthday, and the meal was delightful. Our waiter, Dave, was very attentive and pleasant. We had the tableside Caesar salad prepared by a very pleasant young man who described every ingredient and step in the process, and produced an excellent result. We then had escargot, followed by a half dozen Oysters Rockefeller and a half dozen Oysters Bienville for myself and my wife had the veal over ginger and carrot puree and asparagus, finished with lump crabmeat. The recommended wines were both excellent. We skipped desert although the ones we saw looked scrumptious. It was our second time there, and both experiences were worth the expense.
We had been to Alice’s once before and were excited to return. When we arrived, the hostess was nice and quickly took us to our table. Our server greeted us and let us know he would be right with us. He came back a few minutes later and got our drink order. A little later he came back to the table without our drinks and let us know the bar was backed up but asked if we were ready to order. We told him we hadn’t been out to eat in a while so we were trying not to rush things but we put in an appetizer order. Several minutes later he finally brought our drinks out and asked again if we were ready to order. We told him we were not quite ready and needed just a few more minutes. He replied that we should order because he didn’t want the menus to still be on the table when our appetizer arrived. Although I can understand what he was saying, his tone made us feel like we were being rushed. We had the escargot and table side Cesar to start. For entrees, we got the ravioli and filet. The ravioli came with shrimp on top which wasn’t stated in the menu. Although all the food was delicious, the portion sizes were a little small and we left still being hungry. While we were there, a keyboardist started playing in the room. There was a large group next to her that began to sing along. Even to the point some of them stood up next to the keyboardist to sing. While some may have been annoyed by this, we thought it was a little amusing. When the large table left, an employee who we assumed was the manager went over to speak with the keyboard player. He scolded the player and told her she should’ve done something to stop them. Not only did we think that wasn’t her place to say something, we also found it completely inappropriate to scold her in front of all the tables in the restaurant. The manager could have pulled her aside away from customers to address the situation. Overall, the food was good but I’m not sure it will be on the top of our list to return.
Another gem in Pensacola! Excellent, diverse menu selections including vegan. Very good and reasonably priced wine list. Staff is a real strong point. Seating in the wine bar gives you access to both the wine bar menu and the main dining room menu which is nice. We ate in the wine bar (very casual) and are looking forward to another visit to try the main dining room (a little more formal, if you are wearing shorts, I suggest the wine bar). We will be back!
They accommodated my bad back with a chair with arms I requested if available . Good variety in menu ; especially liked "Chilean sea bass " & bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with crab .Wine list average but very reasonably priced . Server was very pleasant and courteous . Plan on going back & trying other things on the menu .
We went to Alice’s for our wedding anniversary it it was absolutely divine. We had Crab Cakes to start, a table-side Caesar Salad for two, then we both got the Steak Au Poivre
Filet Mignon served with Yukon Gold Potato Puree, Seasonal Vegetables and Finished with a Peppercorn Brandy Cream Sauce, and the Key Lime Creme Brûlée for dessert. I’m still dreaming about this meal. It was all served to us by Dave, who was exceptional. We will definitely be back!!!
My date and I enjoyed entrees, I had the lamb and she had the filet. The Ceasars salad was excellent and tossed at the table. The bar is quit nice and the bartender makes a good drink. I will visit Alice’s again and again.
Alice’s is our absolute favorite place to eat in Pensacola. I have dreams about the Clydesdale. Everything is always remarkable! Much love!
First time trying Alice’s. The food was amazing. I had the snapper and my daughter had the filet. We will definitely be back
