Wonderful bread, and the salmon was perfectly seasoned and expertly prepared. My dish was called "Mainstreet Grouper," but the fried softshell crab was the star of the plate... they may need to rename it. The wine selection offered something for every preference.
It was our wedding anniversary, we were out of town, and we wanted to have a special dining experience. The food here is excellent. The level of service was quite professional, but seemed to vary considerably depening upon who actually was your server. Ours was what I would dub "clinically aloof professional." Although we noted it was our anniversary when making the reservation, the only time it came up was when I asked our waiter to take our picture because of the occasion. Even then I don't recall hearing a basic "congratulations." At an adjacent table with a different server, the manager sent over complimentary champagne to celebrate their anniversary dinner. Perhaps they were locals and/or regulars? Either way, the food is good. It wasn't a "special" dining experience, but if I am in the area again I would consider eating there again, just not on my wedding anniversary.
Our server Kristen was amazing! Top notch! The live music was perfect. The food delicious. The only thing that could have been better is nicer/updated seating in the wine bar area. (We were seated in a booth) Other than that, I am pleased with the experience and will be back.
This is a fabulous place to take special out of town guests. The dishes are creative and delicious - taking old favorites and making them new. The service is top notch, with Alice being the premier hostess for the establishment. Best salmon, duck, sea bass and lamb per our group's review. Thank you for a memorable evening.
Doug was very personable. He explained everything he was doing while making the Caesar salad. He was very enjoyable throughout our meal. The Chef came to the table and asked how everything was. Always a nice touch.
Thank you to everyone for all they do. You are fast becoming our go to restaurant.
Food was fine. Expensive for what you get. Service was mediocre. Rushed and restaurant was not busy (mid week)
With a variety of places to eat out available I don’t think we’d put Alice’s on our list.
It was delicious!
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. My lobster ravioli was a bit too salty and the raviolis were too small for the price point. The oyster Rockefeller was perfectly prepared and the desserts were great. Think the dining room would benefit from a consult with an interior decorator. Could be an amazing space.
A wonderful meal !! Best Sea Bass I have ever had!!
We have found our new favorite restaurant!! Everything was amazing! Food was Devine, atmosphere was so pleasant and the service to just right!
My wife and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary at Alice’s we wanted to try something different and hadn’t been here before. We both really enjoyed it overall. The food was prepared perfectly and was flavorful and what we would expect from an upscale restaurant. My wife got the salmon special and was delighted. My steak was cooked perfectly medium. The white Yukon mashed potatoes were the perfect compliment with a medley of vegetables and (I think) mango. We also ordered the table side prepared Caesar Salad. We have had this in other cities and enjoyed the presentation and preparation. The gentleman that prepared it was conversational and pleasure to talk to. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. He answered our questions and added to the overall experience. We capped it off with dessert and coffee to complete the evening. The only tick I would give is that, seated in the corner by the speaker, the music was a bit loud but probably not as noticeable to other guests. Also, it seemed to be on a jazz radio station so it was a bit off when the DJ would come on between songs. If a friend asked for a restaurant to celebrate a birthday or anniversary (or just a nice night out), Alice’s has my recommendation.
We had reservations in the "Wine Bar" and were seated immediately. Wait staff was personable and attentive, and the food was very good. I'll be back.
The Caesar salad, prepared at the table, was good. We had fish dishes and both were very nice.
Food was amazing and the service was impeccable!
All our food & drink was superb! Our party of five had appetizers, main dishes, salad & dessert. We had Stuffed Shrimp, Escargot, the Oyster Sampler, Shrimp & Grits, Lobster Ravioli, and the Main Street Grouper. Topped it off with Frank’s Bread Pudding, which was to die for delicious! Alice herself checked on us s coup of times. Bethany, our server, was attentive. Delightful evening dining at Alice’s Restaurant!
We have been back here several times recently. An excellent restaurant with great food and excellent wine selections. Very good service and easy parking to avoid the impossible parking downtown. Veal, lamb, duck, fish all very good.
We had to notify the Maitre D that we had not yet seen our server nearly 30 minutes after being sat. Not sure if it was a staffing issue? Also, no apology from management - Pretty laissez-faire in my opinion. Not the top notch service I expected from the “Best New Restaurant” in Pensacola. I hope this was just an off night.
Great dinner. The Wagyu steak was amazing!!!!!
Everything and everyone was exceptional. Carol seating is right away even though we were earlier than expected. Our waiter Robbie was awesome and the food was amazing.
We absolutely love Alice’s , service and food is always amazing!
Great food and incredibly attentive service. Tableside preparation of the Ceasar salad was impressive. Probably the most interesting menu of any restaurant in Pensacola.
Wonderful food and service, 10/10. It was quite cold in the building which was the only negative.
Excellent service and food.
Very well prepared with quality food/ ingredients. Pricey but delicious and good portion sizes .
Great food and service. Best steak in Pensacola. Passion pear martini is delightful.
Great food. Even my kids loved everything we ordered. The table side Caesar Salad was really good and converted one child to love salads with Parmesan and the fixings. The lobster ravioli was decadent and so was the duck. Lamb chops were just ok but it’s sauce was delicious. Don’t leave without getting g the bread pudding. I am not a fan of bread pudding usually, but this was like a beignet in a bowl. So good!
Generally the experience was good. Batted 50% on the entree’s. Lamb excellent, veal was not very good both in taste and proportions. Dessert, bread putting, was excellent.
This restaurant ha the best food service wine list in Pensacola. The service is great. You can eat at you leisure or quick time the meal. As the A/C is just right for some, they had a wrap for my wife who was freezing.
Alice's is delicious. They accommodate my gluten allergy easily and I always have a delicious meal there.
Outstanding food is the standard. The service is attentive and friendly. The food got better course after course. It’s not cheap, but the prices are in line with other restaurants of similar caliber. However, I gladly doled out my money, because it was worth every dollar. I tend to be picky… was this worth that, and was that a fair price for this. The only conversation after this meal, was, how do we top that?
Excellent food and service (Nick). It was a little chilly but not unbearable.
I wish I would have gotten pictures but sometimes I hate being that person that’s snapping away at their food. We got TG oysters, escargot, french onion soup, the filet, the veal, and two desserts. My most fave thing was the oysters, the soup and the filet. Our server Doug was really nice and delivered prompt service. I kinda in my opinion wish the veal was served with something different, the crab meat and purée kinda stole the show away from the veal. But I’m not a chef so what do I really know. The presentation was beautiful and it was still tasty. I wish the cheesecake was a baked cheesecake but still the orange blossom flavor was wonderful. Very unique place and I would still recommend! Glad we tried it out!
A little noisy due to a loud birthday party, server forgot table side Caesar Salad and when they remembered we were done with dinner, they worked very hard to make us happy. Expensive menu for the ambiance.
Disappointing meal considering a $300 bill + tip for a family of 5.
HVAC system needs work. Not just drafty, it was windy. Watched my wife’s hair blow in her face most of the evening.
Service was very slow. We were seated 50 minutes before appetizers arrived. Meals arrived 30+ minutes later. Our waiter was replaced at some point in our wait. No plates provided with appetizers. We used our butter plates.
Food quality/taste was very good. Portions were small. Wife received only two small ravioli with her meal of lobster ravioli.
The open floor plan and cement floor made for a very loud venue.
This was our first visit to Alice's and it will not be our last. We had out of town friends with us and had a great meal and a wonderful evening. We had grouper, red snapper, and my husband tried the rabbit. All were well prepared, seasoned, and presented. Our served, Doug, prepared our Caesar salad table-side and it was fresh and tasty. We finished the meal with bread pudding and a key lime creme brulee and they did not disappoint. Alice visited our table to see how our evening had been. We will be back again soon. Highly recommend. 5 stars.
A great Mom & Pop restaurant with an upscale menu. Great for a night out!
This was our third visit to Alice's and we went with another couple. All of our courses were excellent, highlighted by the Oysters Bienville; the table prepared Caesar, entree's including the Veal Oscar, the Filet; and the Grouper. Our server, Doug, was very attentive and timely. One of the best in Pensacola. Enjoyed our visit-noticed the Wine Bar was very popular-we will try next time!
Bar and wait staff were excellent. Food excellent.
What a breathe of fresh air. Two options: 1) Bar Option, keeping it casual 2) Fine Dining Option. What a wonderful idea!! Food did not disappoint. Crab cakes were probably the best crab crakes I have had in a while. Already planning our next trip back.
Food was good, server was nice, happy to get a close parking spot.
