The food is excellent by and large. The only complaint I have is the other evening I ordered a dish from the fine dining menu and they brought me a dish from their casual dining instead. I should have said something, but I did not not. It was just okay, but everything else I have had there has been very good.
Fabulous food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The Grouper was amazing and the crab cakes were full of delicious meat. Get the bread pudding for dessert - trust me !! Very attentive service David our waiter was great. Will be back soon!
Love the casual style of the bar side. The new menu is delicious!!
Food is delicious. The only thing I would change is maybe marinate the pork; the meat was bland inside. Service was outstanding.
Enjoyed celebrating my best friends birthday over a three course outstanding meal. Table side Caesar salad the best I’ve ever had. Juicy lamp lollipops as my main now is my new favorite dish. Finished evening with s’mores creme brûlée and will be back for more!
Great dining experience. Well staffed. Great food. We will be back.
I booked this restaurant as a special treat for my parents, for a birthday dinner. They loved it, and raved that it was the best meal they've had in Pensacola. We will definitely be back!
The staff was friendly and attentive. The food and music were great!
It was wife's birthday. She had Chilean sea bass, I had duck cooked medium. Everything from bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers to bread pudding ala mode with rum sauce was outstanding. Larry our server was perfect. We will be back.
Black lobster ravioli were not black and were undercooked and extremely salty. Duck breast had great flavor but was cooked well done when I requested medium. Service was outstanding but disappointed in the food. Will not return
Great food, superb service, quiet. Has a good wine selection
Food was overpriced. My wife’s “6-8 oz” filet for $42 was not worth it. Much better steak for much less money at other places. She requested medium and it was more like medium-well. I had shrimp and grits with “jumbo” shrimp and sausage supposedly in it for $31. It had about 4 shrimp that were much smaller than at fish house and other places we have had same dish. There was no sausage—or if there was it was tiny chunks that were invisible and untasteable! It was a big plate of grits. Bread pudding was very dry.
Ambiance was loud, no tablecloth, not romantic at all. Bad place for a date.
Mariah was excellent server though!!
Wonderful food and service!!! Can’t say enough!
Absolutely the best Chilean Sea Bass on the Gulf Coast!
The service was excellent from the time we walked into the restaurant and until we left. The owner Ms. Alice also came to our table several times to make sure everything was going well.
The food was delicious and everyone ate everything on their plates! We teased one of the guys because he never eats all of his food, but this time, he finished his meal before the rest of us. We've already made plans to dine here again.
Very enjoyable, great wine selection. Highly recommend the tableside Ceaser salad. We will be back
My girlfriend and I decided to have a last minute date night and it was a toss up between several restaurants. Alice’s being closer to the top of our list because we wanted to try Chef Rusty Strain’s new Fall menu. Coming here was the Best decision of the day! When we walked in, we were quickly seated on the fine dining side of Alice’s. Not even 10 secs after being seated, we were quickly greeted by our server, David. He was very knowledgeable about both the wine and food menus and was able to answer all of our questions. We started the night with a bottle of “Lancelot” by Paul Lato, which was an excellent pairing suggestion by David as we told him what food we were thinking of getting. As we continued to decide what exactly we wanted to eat, Chef Rusty came out to greet us and stopped by our table to give us some really great suggestions. We started off with the seafood stuffed shells, which the chef told us was his family recipe. From the first bite to the last, I felt like I was having nostalgia from a family I wasn’t even raised in. Following that we split a Mediterranean salad. The salad was delicious and wasn’t over-drenched in sauce like most places and the flavor was a balanced touch of sweet, salty and light. I had the Apple pecan smoked duck and she had the Rosemary apple lamb lollipops. The Duck had great flavor between smokey and sweet with a delicious blueberry bourbon jam. The smoke wasn’t overpowering and went very well with the seasoned veg and potatoes. The lollipops were perfectly grilled and had a mushroom risotto that tied in perfectly with the lamb. My girlfriend usually hates mushrooms, but to my surprise she finished all of the risotto, it was that good. To finish off the night we had a caramel apple cheesecake and a s’mores creme brulee. The flavors were rich yet delicate, which made it the perfect finish to our meal. Thank you to Chef Rusty, our server David and the whole staff at Alice’s for making this a memorable experience!
Not as good as it used to be. Cutting corners in the wrong areas.
Terrific in every way!!
Food and service were very good! Only compliant is the temperature in the room was VERY cold and it was a little too dark
The parking lot is hidden and the signage is not the best. We wondered in the Wine Bar area and walked around until we found the front entrance. No one greeted us or asked if we needed assistance. Once we got to the front entrance, the staff were friendly, helpful, and remained that way during our entire dinner experience. Food was very good, service was very good, and the music was very nice. I like the spacing between the tables so you feel some semblance of an intimate dining experience for being a wide open room. We will be back for the wine bar and fine dining. And now we know where to park!
A great new find for us in Pensacola. The staff was amazing! David was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and is a fantastic sever! We will definitely be returning.
The best crab cakes in town. Reminded me of ones I ate in Baltimore, at little joints on Fort Avenue in Locust Point near Fort McHenry.
Great food, great service - table side Caesar is great. Ok wine list, ambience is just so so.
Baked oysters are amazing ... great wine list too!
Absolutely incredible food and service… the chef coming by the tables was an excellent touch… 100% will be back
The food was very good. Had the Crab cakes for the app. they were good as were the Oysters Bienville- very good. The Bees Knees cocktail was a nice taste, not too strong. Main Street Grouper and Pecan Duck Breast. Both were very good. Great waiter and knowledgeable and friendly. Allowed me to change my potatoes out with any problem. Key Lime Crème Brule was ok. Top was too burnt to eat. Was a nice dinner, and a great place to dine.
I love Alice's restaurant. The meal was fantastic. The service could not have been better. I will definitely be going back!
This was our first time at Alice's. We were there for our anniversary. The service, food, ambiance was all excellent. Alice stopped by our table and had a toast with us for our anniversary - very nice treat! I had the grouper, but my wife was more adventurous and had the rabbit. We both really enjoyed our meals. I definitely recommend the dining room for special occasions. We also walked out to the wine bar and it looks like a great place for larger groups and happy hour meetings.
a new favorite of ours in pensacola area. Excellent food, great service, reasonable wines, and parking without fighting downtown. fish, steaks, veal, duck, pasta, oysters, all are great
The food was fabulous!! Fresh seafood!
Great selection of wines! Can’t wait to go back
Nice selection missed on the taste on all but oyster appetizer. Duck was over cooked, black berry glazed tasted like candy, the grits were okay. The filet tasted like prime rib which is fine if we had order prime rib. The sea bass had a beautiful presentation but less than 4 bits taken by entire table everyone concurred too fishy. Sad we ran into Frank Pattie walking out you expect bettor the best.
Wonderful bread, and the salmon was perfectly seasoned and expertly prepared. My dish was called "Mainstreet Grouper," but the fried softshell crab was the star of the plate... they may need to rename it. The wine selection offered something for every preference.
It was our wedding anniversary, we were out of town, and we wanted to have a special dining experience. The food here is excellent. The level of service was quite professional, but seemed to vary considerably depening upon who actually was your server. Ours was what I would dub "clinically aloof professional." Although we noted it was our anniversary when making the reservation, the only time it came up was when I asked our waiter to take our picture because of the occasion. Even then I don't recall hearing a basic "congratulations." At an adjacent table with a different server, the manager sent over complimentary champagne to celebrate their anniversary dinner. Perhaps they were locals and/or regulars? Either way, the food is good. It wasn't a "special" dining experience, but if I am in the area again I would consider eating there again, just not on my wedding anniversary.
Our server Kristen was amazing! Top notch! The live music was perfect. The food delicious. The only thing that could have been better is nicer/updated seating in the wine bar area. (We were seated in a booth) Other than that, I am pleased with the experience and will be back.
This is a fabulous place to take special out of town guests. The dishes are creative and delicious - taking old favorites and making them new. The service is top notch, with Alice being the premier hostess for the establishment. Best salmon, duck, sea bass and lamb per our group's review. Thank you for a memorable evening.
Doug was very personable. He explained everything he was doing while making the Caesar salad. He was very enjoyable throughout our meal. The Chef came to the table and asked how everything was. Always a nice touch.
Thank you to everyone for all they do. You are fast becoming our go to restaurant.
Food was fine. Expensive for what you get. Service was mediocre. Rushed and restaurant was not busy (mid week)
With a variety of places to eat out available I don’t think we’d put Alice’s on our list.
It was delicious!
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. My lobster ravioli was a bit too salty and the raviolis were too small for the price point. The oyster Rockefeller was perfectly prepared and the desserts were great. Think the dining room would benefit from a consult with an interior decorator. Could be an amazing space.
