   I made a reservation via OpenTable but they didn't have a table set aside. Why? They "weren't set up for it yet". To make matters worse, they didn't even attempt to apologize for it. [I am not saying give us a free app, although that would have been nice, but an apology would have gone a long way] We were shown to a table that was wet. :( We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. They brought bread with garlic sauce to the table. The bread was very good but the garlic almost tasted raw. I I love garlic as much as the next person but this was too much. We got the lamb grape leaves (one of my BF's all-time faves) and the hummus with lamb. The grape leaves barely had any lamb in them; they were mostly rice. The hummus was tasty and went well with the bread. We ordered the shawarma (chicken & lamb) and kebab platter FOR ONE (emphasis intentional). The shawarma was OK, as was the kebab platter. We couldn't understand why there was so much food until we got the bill. Our waitress had put it in for two - three entrees for two people. We didn't fight it and just wanted to get out of there. Because we were in from out of town and staying at a hotel, we weren't going to take it back to a hotel. I think if we lived in the area, we wouldn't anyway. It wasn't that great. The waitress seemed aghast that we were not taking it with us, although we did explain why. Service overall was poor. Although the food wasn't awful, it wasn't spectacular. I am having a hard time understanding how this restaurant has received such good reviews in recent weeks. There must be better places for Mediterranean food around Novi/Detroit and with friendlier, more competent service. One last point - they should really change the music. For most of the evening, they were playing funeral dirges or somber songs from the 40s. Not sure what that has to do with the theme of the restaurant or why anyone wants to listen to that while eating on a Friday night.
