Food and service was was great! Recommend if in the area.
Wife steak was raw after being sent back twice
Food menu small
Wine menu extensive
Very very polite and service was amazing and professional.
Amazing! The steak and sides were amazing and the hamachi shot was incredible. Next time we will skip the additional appetizers we got as they were just ok and expensive for what you got. Definitely will be back though.
Alexander’s is our go-to spot for special occasions. You can always count on delicious food and drinks, high quality, and impeccable service. You may leave lighter in the wallet, but the experience is well worth every penny.
Well-thought out menu. Server was very knowledgeable about the food and gave us insight on choices. Everything was delicious.
Great dinner and ambiance. Lovely evening. Will go again.
Service was okay...Our server had a chin mask instead (wasn't wearing mask correctly), it took a long time to get our drinks, and server only came to take our order and give us our check. However, the food was incredible. Wagyu steak was delicious!
A place to go for wagyu but the regular ribeye is great
We went for my fiance's birthday. He is a big steak eater and he said the Ribeye was one of the best he's ever had! We also loved the delicious mashed potato and green bean sides. We wished there was more of a variety of price points for the wines (least expensive bottle of cabernet set at $700 is a bit much). Brought a complementary glass of champagne and a lovely small dessert for his birthday. Great experience.
Great experience! We had the Japanese Wagyu Beef, the Australian Wagyu Beef and the T-Bone Steak. The steaks were tender and juicy, but we all loved the Japanese Wagyu Beef! Everything we had was really good, chilean sea bass, scallops and do not miss the truffle mashed potatoes! Our server, Jeffrey, was very helpful, attentive and very nice. Actually, all the staff were nice, friendly and attentive!
Everything was amazing! From the food to service.
I've been going there for several years (at least a dozen of times). Went there twice in the last couple of months and the quality of food downhill, while prices (of the fillet which is what I usually order) went up by about 20%. This place ain't cheap which is ok, but the food lately doesn't match the price.
The manager William Montes de Oca and his staff were welcoming the minute we stepped into the restaurant. Dawn, our attending waitperson, was impeccable with her suggestions. Everything was delightful from our drinks, to the final presentation of the cotton candy. We even got to meet the chef and take a mini tour of the kitchen since we were the last sitting.
A very very special evening! Thank you William and Dawn and thank you Chef - amazing young female chef!!! Such a great role model for my teen daughter.
She loved her birthday celebration!
The 6 course meal with the wine pairing is one you don't want to miss.
The chef and the sommelier work closely and you can tell because the wine brings out the foods already delicious flavors and highlights them in such a way that makes this one of the most memorable meals I have ever had.
Beautiful dinner with many choices
Great food but extremely overpriced compared to other SF steakhouses with similar quality.
Excellent food. Service was outstanding. Food is pricey.
Service was slow and we had to ask to be helped after being seated for a while.
The service was excellent. The server, Reuben remember us from dinner couple of months ago which was nice. His service was very nice.
Overpriced and underwhelming
Absolutely delightful experience celebrating our anniversary. We ordered the chef's tasting menu and we're absolutely thrilled with it. The food and service were exceptional!
Went to Alexander’s for a great birthday dinner. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. He gave us an educated run down of the wagyu options and made a great recommendation. Steak was cooked perfectly. The wagyu tartare was exquisite. We asked for a bartender choice of a mezcal mixed drink and he made 2 great unique drinks. Will definitely return and recommend to any friends looking for a great dining experience.
It was a birthday of our friend. Staff has some wishes and presented a complimentary cake with birthday candle. Thanks a lot! Food and service were good, but quite slow. We had reservation at 7:30 pm and left 10:45 🤪 we ordered Special Chef’s choice and waiting for our course dish.. yeah… we had great time, but quite too much time.. Food was amazing, but dessert was not like “wow”…
Unbelievably disappointing experience, booking a dinner to celebrate a milestone. Party of 3 on a Wednesday evening, 6.45 reservation that ended at 9pm when we walked out after waiting for our entrees which never came. Mediocre service, cocktails were great.. maître d’ came along to ask how we were doing and we were Done. I realize Covid must have created a downgrade in quality but we will not be going back.
We had a great experience. My husband was thrilled with his birthday dinner. Thank you for your great customer service and delicious food.
