Wonderful birthday meal with just enough birthday attentions to the special person and also delightful food served during each course! Every flavor is a delight and we so appreciated the focus and details shared so that we might enjoy all of the gastronomic delights we were served! Thanks again to Alexanders'!

The meal was absolutely wonderful but our server took so long to bring all the courses even after we asked numerous times to speed it up that by the time they brought our stake it was three hours later and I was completely full

Food and service are excellent. The restaurant itself could stand for some remodeling and updating. For example, the restrooms have a very strong dingy, mildewy smell. Just not what you would expect from a high-quality restaurant.

The food was generally fantastic, although one of us got the Wagyu and was disappointed. The filet and rib-eye were phenomenal. Highly recommend the lobster appetizer, mashed potato and Brussels sprout sides. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been to Alexander’s and I have to say I remember it being quite a bit nicer (men had to wear a sport coat and this time there were guys in t-shirts). It’s still really nice, service was great, but the overall experience just doesn’t seem quite worth the extravagant price anymore.

Food was disappointing. We had very inexperienced/disinterested waiter. Not enough explanation on pre-fix menus, which has shrinked significantly leaving not much to choose from. Waiter did not specify anything about the menu and did not ask whether any of us have any allergies (father in law is allergic to rice and rice was served). Accidentally ordered wagyu tasting menu ($275/person) out of which, half was served completely RAW. That SHOULD have been specified on the menu as a warning (or noted by the waiter). Our son couldn’t eat any of it so I asked for supplementation or if they could make french fries for him. They said they have no potatoes and he is out of luck. Apparently all food have been “pre-made” (meaning it was made earlier in the day and then put in the refrigerator to be pulled out and serve later). It certainly did not taste fresh. I couldn’t eat most of the courses since I do not eat raw red meat and we were told by waiter that chef is unable to substitute with other meat. The claim the waiter and manager made was, “we removed many items from the menu to change for better with focus on quality and not quantity”…well it was neither. I must say I enjoyed our wine recommendation by their very friendly and knowledgeable sommelier. Food quality and options dropped significantly. The experience was not worth $2000 and we will not return.

I had eaten at Alexander’s in Cupertino many times, and loved it! So I was excited to bring friends to try the SF location. however the experience was underwhelming.
Ribeye was super thin and overcooked, looked like a steak from Applebee's. Scallops were tasty, but overcooked. The staff were very nice and accommodating, but the food was not great.

10/10 experience. Staffs made us feel very special. The food was amazing. Overall we were very happy with entire experience celebrating our 18 years anniversary. Only complaint would be the temperature, it was cold . Other than that It was worth every penny

The staff were all really great - welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the inside of the restaurant was really nice too. We were given some free breads and little appetizers, which were a pleasant, tasty surprise. Then when we got to our main course, we were a little disappointed by the food. The presentation was excellent but our steaks came out cold and the side dishes (wagyu mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts) were lukewarm. I didn't want to say anything at first because I assumed my steak was cold due to ordering it rare, but then I discovered my friend's medium-rare steak was cold too. The staff then brought us some fresh sides which were hot and that made such a difference. They offered to re-do our steaks but we didn't have time to wait for them to prepare them all over again and didn't want what was left of the originals re-heated. The steaks were flavorful but we have had steaks we have enjoyed more for less money elsewhere.
Overall - lovely venue, service and staff but the food was not worth the price for us.

The food portions were tiny especially for the cost. When you pay over twenty dollars for a side it should serve more than one person. The wine list was way over priced. The steaks were average. II expected spectacular for the cost and got a normal steak I could get anywhere. Fir a meal that cost $500 plus for two people, it was okay at best.

Very disappointed!

The experience was phenomenal from beginning to end. The service was 5 stars alone. The food was some of the best we have ever had. Highly recommend the chef’s tasting. It was heavenly. We hope to be back soon.

Everything was good except for where we were seated considering my request, the event and available tables. It was my wife’s bday and I requested a table secluded and more quiet. We ended up being sat in an awkward corner where another couple was looking straight at us the whole time. In any other circumstance such as a casual dinner night out I wouldn’t mind. However, it was my wife’s bday, my first time and her favorite steakhouse, so I was hoping for a special time. I went to use the restroom upstairs (where it was a bit more quiet and secluded) and was surprised at how many empty 2 person tables there were. I was disappointed in this regard. But food and service was good. The table assigned did somewhat spoil my time a bit especially considering it was first time. Along with the couple faced towards us, staff kept accidentally hitting my chair and elbow to give an idea of how awkward and cramped the table we were sat was.

Everything was great our server i believe his name was Kevin was excellent. Knowledgeable of the menu and help me and my girlfriend with the order . The ribeye was fantastic , i did notice the price has gone up since i last came . Slightly pricey but good for special occasions
