Alexander's Steakhouse - SF Ratings and Reviews
Food was very good. Steaks are tasty, choice of cut is outstanding. Our service was a little slow, we were not in a hurry - yet had to encourage our waiter to help us. It became a little embarrassing, to constantly encourage him to ask for our order and then to bring our meal. I had a strong feeling the steaks were prepared and waiting for him - he was lost for a good 25 mins over the stretch of ordering to food arrival.
The wait staff went through the motions but I did not feel they were really interested in good service. That being said we ordered the filet and the prime rib. The filet was fairly good and was cooked appropriately. The large prime rib was very disappointing. I like well marbled steak but half of the prime rib was fat. Not marbeling, but inedible fat. And the rub was too salty. I will give the mushroom a 5 star rating. We had a couple glasses of wine which were good.
Very nice Christmas Eve dinner. Good service, food, and ambience. We thought they cut back their menu since our last visit, which is great as more attention is being paid to individual items. Only gripe - my son thought his ribeye was not as well marbled and flavorful as his dad's. Have been suspecting that generally the person paying for dinner gets a superior dish ..
We had a wonderful time. The service and food were wonderful. We were continually surprised throughout our meal by the amuse bouche. The cotton candy at the end was the final delightful touch on a delightful evening. They prepared our leftovers and left it in a bag by the door (giving us a tag), meaning we could still linger without a bag blocking our view. Our server made our dessert complimentary, which was very thoughtful. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommended.
Everything is impressive from service to the development of the menu. Everything is extremely unique and can be seen why the chef puts his name on it. Service is very attentive and well informed in everything they do. Would definitely go back again to try the other things on the menu!
Wagyu, waygu, waygu! I love the selections of meat they have, it is amazing! Because Of mine big appetite, I would normally order the testing menu plus some small bites and few more selections of wagyu beef.
Variety selections of good wine and champagne plus good service from our host Robert, made our dining experience Fun and enjoyable!
We went for my husbands birthday. We were 15 minutes late and unfortunately they gave our table away. We had to wait a while to get a new table. I did call several times to let them know we are running late but unfortunately nobody answered. That was pretty disappointing.
The ambiance was fun and lively. I have not been to Alexander's before. The bar staff was very accommodating and cool even though it was very busy and didn't even blink hen I asked for a high maintenance cocktail.
I will give this place another try.
Alexander's Steak house always impressive. It has the best selection of Japanese A5 Wagyu Beef, There is no other experience that can compare to Alexanders!
Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the Japanese A5 Wagyu beef!
The service here is Impeccable and they do not discriminate based clothing or looks
Another excellent meal, this time I had a delicious T-bone. Chocolate soufflé was delectable too. A noteworthy highlight was a superb and interesting appetizer: very lightly seared Ohmi wagyu beef. The beef had just been heated over charcoal and there was just a hint of smokiness to it. As usual, the bread was excellent too.
The best steak I’ve had in a long time, a nice thick ribeye, perfectly prepared medium rare. Superb potato rolls too, and a delicious chocolate soufflé to finish. Service was knowledgeable and solicitous. Good wine selection too. A pleasant and fun experience.
The restaurant is quite warm and beautiful. It took quite a bit of time for the waiter to take our drink order. It was a warm evening. I wanted something cool a refreshing from California to support the vineyards in Wine Country. The price point for a Glass of Chardonnay (and French) was $17. I thought was was pretty outrageous. So I ordered a Vodka Soda. Filet Mignon was good (I should have requested the sauce on the side) and the cotton candy 🍭 was a nice touch. The bill was delivered and was eye popping, even for San Francisco standards. Back to Harris’ Steakhouse for me.
Food was average, not that good as the experience that we had last time. Service was much worse than last time. Our waiter was nice but not warm welcome, didn’t introduce himself and after we ordered he won’t come to ask if we need anything. Like this type of level restaurant, we would expect a little more with the service, but we just didn’t feel the way that they really care about our business.
