Had the Hitachi tasting menu! It was excellent! The wagyu steak was “melt in your mouth “ delicious! The other dishes were bursting with flavor!
Service was top notch. Mike, our server was accommodating!
Will definitely go back!
Overall, disappointed in our experience. First time here, heard great reviews and figured dining mid-week was a great idea. While they weren’t busy, they had 2 private parties at the same time and clearly they took precedent so service at our table of 4 suffered though multiple tables around us were empty. Our waiter acknowledged as he brought the check that he hadn’t been back since taking our order and said we were left in good hands…however I don’t feel the bus boy was “good hands” considering steaks are $66 to $185 plus. Side dishes are extremely pricey for the quantity of the portion. $33 for Mashed Potatoes that was nothing more than Mashed Potatoes…no added truffle or lobster or anything considering what other caliber restaurants do with sides. The bar was also not timely in making drinks. Dinner for 4 with tip was over $850 and while I’m not shy to an expensive tab, for what I paid…there are SEVERAL other places in the city with better service, appreciate us as patrons and regardless of COVID, provide better dining experiences than Alexander’s. Our food was not bad, steaks cooked as ordered and sides, while very small portions for the prices, tasted fine.
We dined here during our trip to San Francisco. Alexander's is always a wonderful place for dinner. Great steaks and drinks. Can't go wrong. Never less for some reason, if I had to choose, the location in Los Angeles is the best. Don't know why. The San Francisco location is amazing. But LA is flawless.
It was our first “fine dining” experience and needless to say, it took us by surprise. We were able to enjoy and appreciate the time, effort, and quality of food that was presented to us. Our compliments to the chef and his crew, as well as the staff for welcoming us and making sure our dining experience was pleasant.
We went there to enjoy some delicious pieces of steak and our expectation was met. We tried their most special (and most expensive) wagyu beef and 18oz prime rib. Both of those were amazing. Their sides and starters were average though. Higly recommended if you’ve been craving some delicious steak and wagyu beef!
Great food and super friendly service. The drinks are fantastic and definitely get the soufflé for desert.
Got seated at a very small table in the back of the restaurant… very uncomfortable, sevice was very slow. Took 3 hours to have steak dinner. Our drinks took a little hike to come out also. Server was nice but very slow.
Not much on the menu, was disappointed with the sides
What ruined the night was when another customer started to smoke his e cigarette in the restaurant right next to us. The crew seen it happen but did not ask him to stop.
That was very rude and inconsiderate
Not as good as other top steak houses
Great food and drinks and service
Food and service was outstanding. Went for my wife birthday and we both really enjoy the experience.
Its was a nice restaurant but the food didn’t mean my expectations in my opinion it can be different for anyone els but in my experience it was not what me and my family expected the mash potatoes with truffle was probably the best thing there
Pink Panther cocktail
Bone in rib-eye
Bone in New York
All the above were absolutely outstanding.
Would not order the chanterelle mushrooms or blue lake beans again.
Paired steak with their 50/50 merlot-cab by the glass and it was delicious, went amazing with the ribeye.
This steakhouse is one of the best I’ve ever been to.
Highly recommend for a great dining experience.
Great place to spend a quiet birthday dinner. Waiting staff was very attentive, chef provided several free dishes in honor of my request for something chocolate for my partner's birthday. Both of us would rate this in our top 5 eating experiences.
Always an excellent experience
Perhaps the best steaks I have ever had and the wine list was fantastic.
Steakhouse with EDM Music 😂😂 it was very interesting
Defiantly recommend getting the chefs tasting menu!
T-bone is amazing. Recommend dry old style steak!
Food and service was excellent. Staff was super welcoming and appreciated the overall kindness and attention to detail in celebrating my husband's birthday.
The service was a step above excellent. Quick, unobtrusive, and efficient. Every small detail was taken care of with a touch of elegant professionalism. And most importantly: we experienced a wonderful dining atmosphere. Definitely coming back again next time when visiting from the East Coast.
We had a wonderful experience at Alexander's. One of the manager's came to our table and introduced himself. The staff was very attentive. We will be returning.
all dishes in the tasting menu are very salty, except the main course rib eye caps, which they provide different salts but allow us to decide how much to put on, turns out it is the only one we can really taste it the whole night, because the salt did not overwhelm it. Having said that, they actually put in every effort to make each course using variety of ingredients, too bad the over-salt kill their hard works.
Wonderful food. Smallish portions and very pricey
The restaurant itself was very worn down and did not come off as premium at all considering the price. On top of that the menu was very small and the quality of the food was far below what I would expect when I'm spending +$100 per person.
