We understand that it was busy, but we were there early on a Saturday evening at 5:00 pm and were ignored most of the visit. My filet mignon was ordered medium but one medallion was basically raw and I pointed it out to the waitress. Another waiter came back to me with my plate and said “you had a problem with the steak?” As if I had to defend myself. There was no compensation for the poor meal and 2 other meals were not up to par. Will not go back.
The food was delicious and had beautiful presentation, however the restaurant was beyond crammed and chaotic. They have tables so close together you can’t get out without asking another table to move for you. Also, we felt like our server was more concerned with flipping his tables rather than customer service (the table next to us said the same thing), which is why my husband and I normally sit at the bar. We will definitely do that next time.
The lasagna was Amazing!!!!!
Pre-theater dinner. Partner's ravioli was cold on the inside though the sauce was hot. Disappointing. Garlic bread with pesto dipping sauce was a hit! Could eat that all day!!
Always enjoy, one of my favorite places!
It's all about the food. Wonderful place for lunch or dinner with perfect service. It is just one of those magical places where everything seems to happen as it should without much fuss.
Terrible. I ordered the venison salami. They threw 6 tiny slices of venison on top of dry, unseasoned arugula and slammed the plate on the table before me.
The place is a joke.
Chicken Marsala sauce had no flavor and was a coagulated mess. Recommend going to Modo Mio in Newport coast if you want American Italian food
The food is always delicious and we've tried many different dishes. It's always super busy but the staff are always so friendly and there's always a great vibe...perfect setting for date night or a large family dinner. We visit every time we're in town!
We usually love this restaurant. However, we were served poor quality and cold food. We felt that meals were priced higher than their value. We were charged excessive amounts for adding extras to the meal choices as well.
Food was very good however server seemed rushed and food came out at different times. Also we were there for a birthday and the birthday dessert was brought out before we had even finished eating our main course. Still - we enjoy the restaurant and will be back.
Our family visited Alessa while on vacation in Southern California. The atmosphere was great, service fantastic and food delicious!
Timing of service was off a bit. Good food and great area
The service was terrible. I had a reservation and we were seated promptly ... and then forgotten. Took almost 20 minutes to get water and put in a drink order. My food arrived before my glass of wine. After the meal, my waitress disappeared again and I had to finally ask another waitress to close me out. The food was decent but there are many places with decent food that provide much better service. A disappointing night out
The food is always fantastic. We have never had a bad meal - ever!
Celebrating my friend’s birthday at Alessa’s restaurant. The whole experience was great. The food and drinks were delicious.
Terrible response to a small dispute over the bill ($4) as we were being charged a "surcharge " for a "home-made pasta" substitute that my husband agreed to pay when he selected it, but then had to send back to the kitchen as it was so gluey that he literally could not eat it. They offered an alternative and he was satisfied with that but they still charged him the "home-made" surcharge. When he complained, our waitress brought someone who didn't seem to be a manager but a male member of the staff who was very rude and basically said, "you ate it you pay for it" ...creating a scene on a busy Friday night that ironically kept us seated at a table that they needed much longer than we would have liked to stay. We were there with friends who we were treating and it was very awkward...we will not be returning.
Bronzino was excellent and the pasta was succulent.
Meeting up with family friends, food was great
Alesandro delivers perfection!
Food came out about five minutes after ordering and bolognaise in tomato sauce with barely any meat.
We love coming here and eat here often but we didn't have the best experience on this particular evening 3/16/19. Our food was simply OKAY. I ordered the spaghetti verde but the pasta wasn't cooked enough. I've gotten this dish many times and love it but not on this day. My husband ordered the risotto with shrimp and also said it was just okay. Plus, I ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc NZ and received chardonnay. After my first sip, I mentioned this to the waiter. Instead of correcting the error he told me it was the correct wine and that I was wrong! I KNOW the difference between chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. When I asked if I could see the bottle, he said the wine bottle had been thrown out. When I asked for the brand name, he mumbled something I couldn't understand so I let it go. At the very least, I should have been comp'd the glass of wine but was not. This is normally a great place to eat with fantastic food and service.
Great by the glass wine selection, able to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergy. Everything was great. Very attentive waiter. We did feel rushed.
Great location, delicious food and excellent service. Nice selection of Italian food. Not inexpensive but not unreasonable. After all, Laguna restaurants generally are expensive. It’s a high rent district. Only complaint is that the background music is too loud
Food was good . A bit loud - tables are toooo close
Excellent food every time.
Great food and the service was outstanding at dinner. Went back for lunch the next day and same great food and service.
As always, Chef Pirozzi does not disappoint! Fabulous food and drink for all. Alessa is our favorite restaurant in Laguna! Of course we will be back again!
Good food. Yummy dessert (warm chocolate soufflé) which I rarely get but definitely worth the treat. Service was more than acceptable. It is somewhat noisy but no different from the other Laguna Beach Village restaurants.
Always fantastic food and service!! Love this place!
The food was fabulous! The service less than desirable but there was a huge party there and the noise level
Was unbearable! I would try it again because the food was sooo good
Service was very poor. They didn't seem that busy but our server took so long getting back to us I wondered what we'd done to insult her.
Food lacked depth and character. Very bland and just really had no taste. Sorry to give a thumbs down. Service, however, was great.
Everything was very good. Food was good as well as the service. Was a little taken back by the price for 2 pasta dishes 1 desert and a split of champagne and Arnold Palmer. $100 included tip. Very basic pastas. But it was good. and again our server was very good.
Alessa continues to be my favorite restaurant in Laguna. The service and food are outstanding.
Alessa is truly one of the best restaurants in Laguna. Whenever I have company, I always treat my guests to a dinner at Alessa❤️. Yummy!
Great restaurant in every way.
We have been here so many times. Not as good
Best Italian food my wife and I have ever eaten. Bread and dipping oil was delicious and truffle oil pasta appetizers were incredible. We fought over who got the last one.
Really fantastic meal!
