Aleph Middle Eastern Eatery
A fun evening and a great way to experience family style eating.
Love the food! Enoki mushroom shawarma!!!!! This was our second visit: we had to come for dinner after loving our first meal here which was brunch. Super friendly service and very helpful in ordering the right quantity of food for our group. It’s really quite noisy and it was very warm inside.
Yes, I would. Lighting could have added to the ambience. Quite bright later in the dining experience.
Best Mid East food in Vancouver, consistently, by a long shot. Great every time.
Excellent food and cocktails - lots of options for vegetarian. This is my third time and it is very consistent. Love it.
Amazing food and very cool atmosphere. Cosy seating and great share plates.
Great food. Must try the Silk Road dish!
Great food! Great service! Casual atmosphere and has everything you need for a bite and drink out with friends! Will definitely go back!
just amazing. best middle eastern food in Vancouver
After hearing rave reviews from friends, I decided to try out Aleph and was disappointed. The selection of options were ok and the food was good, but not phenomenal. What I do really like about Aleph is that they're a great local restaurant started by a husband/wife who had a beautiful vision on their offering. The space is beautiful and quaint and the food was good.
We celebrated my birthday at Aleph and it was delightful. We arrived before our reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. The staff were very attentive, even as the restaurant filled with the dinner crowd. Though I expected to love the halloumi sandwich most, it was actually the Silk Road appetizer and the flatbread that blew me away. The potatoes were a little underwhelming, but overall it was delicious, fun, and memorable. Dessert was great - especially the olive oil lemon cake with pistachio ice cream. Don't miss that! We will definitely be back.
Overall our experience was good. I was not too fond of one of the dishes we ordered but the others were tasty.
Every dish had lots of flavour. Beautiful space and good service.
The food was amazing!! I will definitely be back
It was very stylishly presented exquisite food
Amazing food, terrible service. We had two servers and it seems both of them thought the other was taking care of us and as a result, neither did.
We were never asked how our food was, if we wanted another drink (we did), etc. Food took forever to arrive (frustrating, but we understand great food takes time) and no apologies or explanations were offered. At the end of our meal, we had stacks of plates on our table and were ready to leave but COULD NOT get either server’s attention for our bill, to the point it became comical. It’s a tiny room - how could neither of them see us waving every time they walked by? They weren’t frazzled or crazy busy - it just actually felt like we were being intentionally ignored. It was bizarre.
Ambience - it’s a cute and small room, however we were seated right under a speaker and it was LOUD. Like, we could not hear each other talk and it became frustrating.
The good news is my companion had been there before and said the music was nowhere near that loud and the service was great. So hopefully this was just an off night.
The better news is the food was so spectacular that I still left with an overall positive impression and would even give it another chance. Everything was beautifully prepared, fresh, and delicious.
Rarely would I recommend a restaurant where I’ve had such poor service, but given the amazing meal we had, I’d say give it a shot anyway.
Delicious food and great service for our anniversary! Thank you!
Excellent food and service. Tables around the edge are a little rough to maneuver, but doesn't outweigh the dishes and kind server. We had the shakshuka and savory panckaes - superb!
It's a great little place, highly recommended
Super flavourful dishes, friendly service, they even accommodated splitting the grilled cheese sandwich 3 ways!
We have already been recommending the place. This is one of my favourite cuisines, and its done exceptionally well. Zhoug my god. Great and diverse cocktails list. Servers were also wonderful, but could have had another one on the shift to handle the volume of guests more attentively. Love chef’s philosophy, and we are sure to return.
ADORE everything about this restaurant, people, food, ambience, heart, food... did I mention the food? Even the drinks are special. The only drawback was the noise level. It was difficult for four people to hear one another speaking -- we had to lean in and speak loudly. Other than that glitch, it's perfection.
Delicious. So much flavour, such unique combinations, and easy to eat healthy.
We both loved Aleph! We will be back, soon I hope.
Not great seating but cute place.
So, so good. If I lived nearby I would definitely be a regular.
Delicious!! Highly recommend for a vegetarian restaurant.
The food was amazing and I was able to make resos for brunch! Turmeric hollandaise and the shakshuka were so good.
Flavours were fantastic. Room is quaint but nice. Service was a bit slow but very pleasant. Overall a great experience.
Never disappointing. A healthy, flavourful meal where each dish makes you say "MMMmmMMmmm". My husband and I have been here 4 times and each time have brought different family members and friends with us.
Hi! I went to aleph for my birthday dinner on May 19! My mom called to kindly set it up as a gift for me and she had nothing but good things to say bout how she was handled over the phone! Thanks for the amazing dinner and for being nice to my mom!!!
Food is exceptionally tasty and flavourful. Tons of vegetarian options. Service is friendly and attentive. Setting is trendy-casual. Overall highly recommend.
new age spin on lebanese cuisine. so yummy! would definitely recommend everyone to visit.
Amazing flavours and so many delightful vegan and vegetarian dishes.
