   Great location and beautiful venue. Food delivery needs improvement, some of our dishes were lukewarm or inconsistently warmed up.. main dishes came out very late and my wagyu steak was delicious. Hopefully in a few months all the kinks will be resolved and we will back.

   The food and drinks were fantastic so there is hope they can fix the kinks in service. We made a reservation, only to be told about 30 mins past our time, that they could not accommodate us but that we could find a seat at the bar instead and eat there. Excuse me, what?? They were apologetic, and offered a round of drinks (only after we told they they should at least comp a round of drinks). The explanation was that people got late to their reservations and oh well, there was nothing they could do. Having said that, they must enforce the 15min grace period. If you don’t show up by your allotted time, you LOSE your table. Period. Otherwise a party will have to be canned (in this case US) so they can catch up. The place was packed, which is a great thing but they need to get it together. I will go again because the food was that good, but if I encounter this type of treatment again, that will be it for me.

    Food was good with the exception of the duck. It was all fat and no meat. Once the restaurant filled up the service was really slow. They ran our credit card three times and claimed the first two wouldn’t work, but all three worked and now we have to call and get it sorted out.

    Fantastic food and brilliant ambience. The menu changes seasonally featuring local ingredients. The staff are attentive, polite and friendly. The chef is superb who knows how to highlight flavor profiles and bring out the best of every produce+protein. Best of all is the owner- Aleksander himself. He greets all his customers with a smile, always checks in on them and goes personally to tables thank patrons. He also asks for feedback and takes suggestions into account. Such a gentleman. A must go place in Philadelphia. We dine there at least once every fortnight, if not more often. Five stars!!

    My best friend and I came to Philadelphis for an overnight stay and we're given this restaurant as a recommendation. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Food, service and ambiance were impeccable. We will definitely.come back again and again.

    Wow. What a terrible experience. The restaurant temperature was oddly warm. The middle section of the restaurant was cramped beyond believe while the back of the restaurant was empty. Food was mediocre at best. Our server was good but that was unfortunately the only good part of our time at Aleksandar. It was really expensive for such a low grade experience. Philly has so many good restaurants, go to one of them until Aleksandar gets it together.

    It was my partner’s birthday so we did the chef’s tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Each dish we selected was excellent! I’ve already recommended it to a few people.

    Came here after reading an article about the background of the owner and we were really excited to try it. The drinks were great and the food was good too. However, the experience was definitely dampened by the hearing the bartender and servers complaining loudly that they were annoyed people were still in the restaurant and wanted to leave. It made things very uncomfortable as we were sitting in the bar area. It’s too bad because the decor and look of the place is great and it could have some real potential but the staff was very off-putting and negative. Management should address this.

    Food wasn't as good as I was hoping for. The duck was fatty the mustard greens were way to oily. My chocolate moose had popcorn on the side . For the price just wasn't worth it to me . I will not come back .

    Nice small spot off Rittenhouse. Tailored bar list heavier on cocktails than wines by the glass. Beet and Fig salad was tasty and balanced but wilted pretty quickly. My mate's pumpkin soup was declared delicious. My halibut was seared to perfection. Short ribs were fantastic.

    We went to restaurant Aleksandar last Sunday and we had a great experience. The restaurant decor is top notch. The food was excellent the short rib with the vanilla potato mashed potato was outstanding.

    We had to wait one hour for the food! The server wasn t to be seen at all - we had to wave and ask for some water. She said there s only one person in the kitchen. Coffee came cold. When she served my food she dipped her sleeve in it … awful service. Food was ok but def not worth it. Not going back

    Went here for the first time for brunch. It was excellent! Fresh fruit followed by short rib eggs Benedict. Amazing!! Excellent drinks. Great service! Can’t wait to go back!!

    Very expensive for what it was. Food was over salted. The glass of wine I ordered was barely 1/4 of a glass and cost $17. Overall it’s a pretty place but not worth the money.

    Poorly made Cosmo, way too much lime, very sour. No balance. Soggy Beet & fig salad SWIMMING in dressing. Tuna tartare flavor was good but again, drenched in sauce. Server was perfunctory at best. Food runner found pepper for me.

    Service a little slow to begin our meal- no one was in there really so we wondered why. It was worth the wait- ended up getting entrees very quickly and drinks were faster after the first. If they get that beginning timing down will be all good.

    My wife and I visited Alexsandar’s on 19th Street in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse neighborhood for dinner last evening. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess and led to a high top table (as we had requested on our reservation) in the bar area. The room is very stylishly decorated with interesting paintings on the walls, pleasant lighting and a large window facing 19th Street. Kelly, our server greeted us pleasantly, providing menus and water. We ordered wine and a cocktail and, then, two appetizers of pumpkin soup and ‘Philly Jawn pirogies’. Both the soup and pirogies were delivered hot and were very fresh and flavorful. We shared an entree of crab pasta which was superb. The pasta was excellently prepared with a tangy sauce that did not overwhelm the dish and crabmeat was plentiful. The carrot cake dessert was disappointing………..dry and without much flavor and it was delivered well after our espresso had gone cold. Kelly was attentive and pleasant throughout our meal and the kitchen runner brought out our food at its peak.

    Came in from out of town for work. Food and drinks was great and the service was amazing! My table had the tuna crudo, Philly pierogies, mushroom risotto and the fall version of the short-ribs. Everyone enjoyed their meal and good portions.

    We went to dinner on a Sunday to Aleksandar. We enjoyed the optional tasting menu for 95$ per person and it’s deal for a 5 course meal and complimentary warm Brioche bread. I loved every single dish that came out - my favorite being the halibut. The whole vibe and interior is exactly what Rittenhouse needs.

    The attention to detail in the flavors is accented by the color and presentation; a fantastic selection. The restaurant is beautiful with an upscale yet cozy atmosphere. From drinks at the bar to dinner at a banquette, my friends and I loved our evening. Loved meeting Aleksander and excited to see this restaurant grow.

    Very nice ambience and great for a date night. Most items on the Fall tasting menu were very good with a few exceptions. The pumpkin soup was bland tasting and the root beer braised short rib was lacking in taste and a bit dry. Otherwise, all other menu items were very tasty. Service was outstanding and the atmosphere was really nice and relaxing. However, the price point is very high and cost prohibitive from going again.
