   Exceptional as always! We visited this time on a Sunday, the roast dinner was exquisite.

   The food was great We was rush with our food I know we only have the table for 2 hour but with in 1 hour they had given us a start and a main I had to tell them we are not ready also service charge should be a option not a mandarin add-on automatically to the bill

   Been Alec’s several times and this wasn’t my best visit. Ordered Mojitos to start off with, wasn’t made with the right ingredients had to be sent back, I don’t believe this to be acceptable when you’re changing £15 a cocktail. Food overall was ok, we both had fish and was very quickly brought up. My partner did have bad belly in the night, don’t know if it’s linked.

   Just because the 5 stars should be given to truly exceptional venues, food and services but Alec's is really close to the fifth star on every account. Truly amazing!

   I was disappointed with the food, portion size was not very good and all sides had to be added to your order for example you had to add chips and peas to your battered cod it only came as the cod only, had to ask waiter staff a few times for drinks and they also forgot a couple of times, overall the restaurant has a nice atmosphere however the food and service let it down plus prices of the food for what you got wasn’t great either this surprised me following all the good reviews on the website, I will not be booking another reservation anytime soon

    Went for the Valentines Dinner, very very busy, had to wait a while for our table so had a drink upstairs and then finally whisked to our table. Starters were lovely, main was good and dessert was great. Great set menu, only issue was price, we thought it was 70pp but it was acc 115pp. Not very clear on the website which was dinner and which was lunch as it was one PDF/page.
