Ale Asylum Riverhouse Milwaukee
Went to Ale Asylum Riverhouse prior to a concert at the Fiserv. It was not crowded or loud, which was nice (the other restaurants closer to Fiserv were on about an hour wait, so this may be a lesser known alternative which is still VERY close to the Fiserv). We had a flatbread appetizer and truffled eggs, delicious. We also had some delicious Ale Asylum Radlers. We split a chicken sandwich which was great. Ordered another beer which never arrived, and by the time she returned, we had to go to the concert. All in all, very good.
We were disappointed with the experience during Downtown dining week.
So my husband sent a review.
We were given a gift card and decided to try it again.
So Glad we did!
Any place can have an off night--It is a mark of a good restaurant that they fix the problems!
We went on a very busy night before a concert. We had made a reservation and we were seated almost immediately which was great, most places around there didn’t even take reservations. Food was delicious. Only reason it was not 5 stars is because the waiter forgot our appetizer (he brought as soon as he could but that was just before food came out), and it took a long time for the check to show up even though he knew we had a time we had to get out of there. He was friendly though and food and cocktails were delicious!
The WORST waitress ever! Food was wrong & bad. Drinkers were terrible. Great location but man they have iissues!!
The view overlooking the river is outstanding. Their portions are huge. Drinks were great and very reasonable not to mention a huge beer selection. Our server (can’t remember her name but she’s from Louisiana) was awesome. Super attentive and knew all of the menu.
I originally went to Ale Asylum for the Downtown Dining Week options, but the menu had so many appealing offerings that I hadn't previously been aware of, we ended up getting a handful of different dishes. All we very high quality and well made. I'd highly recommend!
Perfect almost-summer evening! The atmosphere (outside on the patio along the river) was wonderful and the food was amazing! But the best part was the Riverside Radler, which is going to be my new summer beer of choice!
We came Downtown Dinning 2019.
First,I parked in the assigned lot for $3 parking but was charged $11! The server talked down to us when we tried to explain this to her.
My Reuben rolls were good but were sitting in so much grease that I had heart burn all night. My fish was good but the orzo was only seasoned w oil. And the strawberry shortcake was phoned in w SaraLee poundcake. The meal was ok. But the service was not good. I do not plan to return to this restaurant- even though my friends deviled eggs were awesome. It's not worth it.
Stopped in before Bucks’ game with reservations. We were sat right away, food was good and beer cold. The only issue was the large gaps of time between the server checking in on us during our time there. She missed out on two more rounds of drinks. If they were busy it would have been more understandable however the restaurant was not even half full.
Waitress shared too much personal life
The only miss - and I’m speculating - they decided not to honor their happy hour... Bucks playoff that evening.... please - you advertise a happy hour - then honor it...
Been to Ale Asylum a number of times. Solid beer list, food is good yet basic. I'll be back.
Fun place, great beer, and food. Overlooks the river and is an easy walk to Fiserv Center.
Great service great food and drinks enjoyed the ambiance our waitress was very attentive.
I ordered a pork sandwich. It was completely flavorless, tasted like cardboard. I dont know how that is even possible. My husband ordered cayenne battered chicken and waffles with bourbon syrup. While it was edible, it didn't have any of the advertised flavors which he was disappointed about.
I knew the restaurant and neighborhood was going to be busy before a concert at Fiserv Forum, so I used Open Table to reserve a table for 5. We made a good choice!
The menu isn't too big, so they do certain things very well, including appetizers (cheese curds, chicken tenders, giant pretzels) and sandwiches (crispy chicken, hamburgers). The hostess and waitress were very friendly and great at handling the large crowd.
Great food, great service! We had dinner at Ale Asylum before seeing P!nk at Fiserv. Our server was friendly and efficient, and the meal was well-paced to enable us to enjoy conversation and dining with plenty of time to get to the concert. Would highly recommend the apple old-fashioned -delish!!
This is our go to for a fish fry. Go early, though because they do sell out!
This is our go-to for dinner spots before events at the Fiserv. Great food, drinks and service.
Great view and location, very busy but I had reservations so we did not wait for a table. Very busy waited long time with drinks and meal. Staff friendly and the food was excellent. It was very noisy and difficult to hear others at the table.
Overall good food and beer. However, we got the absolute worst table in the house. It was back by the dock entrance - a very small table for 2 that was near stairs that went down into the bar. People kept rushing by our table in a frenzy. On top of that the doors to the dock were open even though the hostess stand was in the front of the restaurant. It was very cold and windy on Saturday and people kept coming through the doors. I had to eat dinner with my coat on it was so cold. Some joker tried to open the doors because apparently he was hot and nobody else in the bar mattered. When my husband asked our waitress to close the doors she told one of the other employees that it wasn't her it was them pointing at us. Thanks for throwing us under the bus! I'm sorry it was way too cold and windy for the dock doors to be open that day. If the hostess stand is in the front why are the doors open in the first place? Stupid!
It was the night of a very busy concert so they were incredibly busy. The staff were crazy busy and it took longer time for our waiter to get to us but we chalked it up to the busy night. Food was good and beer was tasty!
Service and food was awesome. We were on the lower level and the noise was a little loud.
This was overall a very pleasant experience. The house beers were tasty. The food was very good- our group had fish fry, Greek salad, burgers and falafel sandwich. All of the food was great tasting and well plated. I highly recommend the house chips! We would definitely eat here again.
Good food and great service .
Great food and service! Seated immediately. A little loud if you are looking for conversation. Overall great experience.
Food good. Very busy
Good selection of food and appetizers for many lifestyles. I enjoyed the selection of beer.
the menu was great looking. execution was...... just ok. Everyone agreed their entree was...... fine. Great beer and whisky options. Terrific. The food just didn't rise to the same level.
We went there on Valentine’s Day before heading to the PAC for a show. We had made reservations but there was no need. It was very quiet! Our server was nice and attentive. We both had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was on the verge of over done and the waffle was so-so. The best part of the meal was the cheese platter. A nice assortment of unusual cheeses.
Dined here before a Bucks game on Saturday. The place was hopping when we arrived as many Marquette bball fans were there after their afternoon game. My friend and I had sandwiches (mushroom melt and blackened salmon) with fries (one regular and one sweet potato). The food was really good; much better than expected. It took a looong time to get served but they were packed. I was super glad that I had made reservations AND that I had used the SpotHero app for a $10 parking spot in the lot outside the door. A really great spot before an event at Fiserv Forum...
On a very busy evening (between a MU game and a Bucks game), the staff was able to accommodate an additional table for 7 , in addition to our reservation for 7. This allowed my friend from Ohio to treat her son (MU student) and his friends to dinner. The service at both tables was fantastic, and we just couldn't be more appreciative of the staff to work with us on the additional table. Kudos! We'll be back before and after future games!
We arrived and was seated immediately. Service came quickly so I could order my brown ale beer which was excellent. She return and we immediately ordered.
It seemed a very long time to get a salmon sandwich and my date a special hamburger. The noise level was extremely loud. A great place for millennium age.
I may or may not return due to the high noise level.
Definitely will keep Ale Asylum in the rotation when I’m back in the area.
Food was good enough, as expected for a bar/restaurant like this. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they ordered.
Service was very good, no complaints.
Steak was either not thawed correctly or not cooked long enough. Was cooked on the outside, very raw on the inside. It was mostly gristle, spent most of my time cutting it off. Could not eat the inside after a few bites. Will not eat here again.
Good food, good location, great service
Fun vibe here. Drinks are good. Food is so-so. Our service wasn't good, but other tables had good service.
We had appetizer of the wings. Wings were meaty but I was not a fan of their version of buffalo sauce. I had the burger which was good. Ordered it medium-rare and came back less than rare. Had to send it back and I hate to do that, not knowing what happens to it when I send it back. Hubby had the salmon which was really good. This place is really close to Fiserv which is why we chose it. I'd give it a go again!
Good beer, good food just a little loud to have a dinner conversation
Food good. Prompt service with questions and concern.
Asked for s window seat and got it! Burgers we’re delicious. Great variety of salad greens!
