I have come here in the past for some drinks but this was the first time my wife and I stayed for dinner. This place is extremely affordable considering how much food you get for the price you pay. Even our appetizer portion size was 3x the size that we were expecting. Looking forward to coming here again.
Great service and delicious food. Will be back!
Wonderful service and very good food. Close to many venues in the 3rd ward.
Server was polite and nice. Food was very good. We were seated right away with our reservation. Drinks were delivered fairly fast after ordering as well as appetizers but the main course took quite awhile to come out. Server popped over to say it was on it's way but it took another 20ish mins before it was. We were there on a Saturday night but it wasn't crazy busy. I def would go again but just wish it was a bit faster with service.
Slow service. Sat with empty water glasses almost the entire time. Food was good. Restrooms are gross.
Beer was great. Food was just okay but service and atmosphere were really good
The menu used to be rather varied. It is now a very limited menu.
I was thoroughly impressed with the service and food. Would definitely come back.
We had dinner here before the Bucks game. Great prices and great food.
We ate here before a Buck’s game and really enjoyed the food and beverages. The food is really a cut above bar food and the beer and drink selections were excellent. It was a quick and easy walk to the game.
Great place, great location, great menu for the whole family!
Prices on the menu at the restaurant were higher than the prices on the menu on the restaurant's website.
Wonderful experience. We came here after the theater and sat overlooking the river. The place was busy since it was a Saturday night. Pub food. Our order took a while but the waitress and manager both apologized and offered to bring us something while we waited. The bar was noisy but the dining area is somewhat separated from it so we could converse. Altogether a nice place.
Great atmosphere. The manager who checked in on our table was engaged and clearly cared about our experience. Well done.

Nice dinner before a concert. Menu needs to be upgraded from just pub food to match ambience.
The place was empty which was surprising because it was opening night for Hamilton. Once we got our food we knew why, Buffalo wings with jar sauce and very unimpressive main dishes. Likely won't go back. Too bad because location is great right on the river
Good service, great food. Would definitely eat here again.
Nice location on the Milwaukee River. Sports bar ambiance. Service was fine. The flat bread entree was very good. Don’t order the Shrimp & Vegetable stir fry as the title is very deceiving with what you receive. A pile of white rice, not cilantro lime rice. Swimming in the spicy sauce were a few mushrooms, lots of onions, a few red peppers, and a ton of RAW carrots! No other veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, snowpeas, other peppers, etc as one would expect with a stir fry. At least cook the carrots. There were 7 shrimp. Very disappointing. Will not be back to eat. The beer selection was nice.
Good beer selection and good atmosphere. However, the food was below average at best. The ribs were not palatable, the "chef" should know better than to serve ribs that are as tough as leather. Definitely not fresh and undoubtedly microwave heated.
Told the server, she acknowledged that she'd say something, I doubt that she did.
The menu is now very limited.
Pre-concert dinner and drinks
The location is very good. The noise level is way too high to have a nice meal with any conversation. The waitress seemed very stressed and unsure of the menu. Three drinks that we ordered they were out of, and two things on the menu. The food was average, although it did cone out quickly. This place has an identity crisis. While I believe this place has a lot of potential, it needs some direction. I feel like it doesn't really know what type of place it wants to be. Is it a trendy restaurant, a sports bar, a microbrewery, a club for the college crew? I couldn't tell. The bathrooms are a hot mess and are shared with the adjacent game room bar. The womans bathroom was filthy, and the men's was straight up flooded with standing water throughout. They did comp one of our cocktails for the items they ran out of, but considering our bill was well over 100 dollars, I expected better.
They were not ready for large crowds. 4 salads took 1.5 hrs toget.
I took my sons here for their birthdays. I wanted to try somewhere new that was fun, thinking the river view would be a great atmosphere.
Our waitress was pleasant and attentive, the beers cold and tasty, & our curds and buffalo cauliflower delicious! The southern chicken sandwich & shrimp stir fry were tasty.
This is where things went downhill...
My son’s chicken nachos were awful, the chicken had a disgusting aftertaste, almost like soap. His girlfriend’s dumplings undercooked and hard The 2 orders of bacon mac & cheese, dry, bland and almost flavorless- so disappointing!
Since it was my son’s birthday, and he didn’t want to be embarrassed, he told the waitress his food was okay. We did tell her the dumplings were hard and undercooked. She “comped” a birthday dessert for my son.
I spent $140.00 for food not worth 1/4 of that. I will not go back and have already shared my experience with family and coworkers.
Amazing food, GREAT service and he can’t beat the view right on the river. You can either sit outside if the weather is nice or inside with great river views. This was our first time here and we will definitely go back! Mac n cheese is a MUST TET!
Went to Ale Asylum Riverhouse prior to a concert at the Fiserv. It was not crowded or loud, which was nice (the other restaurants closer to Fiserv were on about an hour wait, so this may be a lesser known alternative which is still VERY close to the Fiserv). We had a flatbread appetizer and truffled eggs, delicious. We also had some delicious Ale Asylum Radlers. We split a chicken sandwich which was great. Ordered another beer which never arrived, and by the time she returned, we had to go to the concert. All in all, very good.
We were disappointed with the experience during Downtown dining week.
So my husband sent a review.
We were given a gift card and decided to try it again.
So Glad we did!
Any place can have an off night--It is a mark of a good restaurant that they fix the problems!
We went on a very busy night before a concert. We had made a reservation and we were seated almost immediately which was great, most places around there didn’t even take reservations. Food was delicious. Only reason it was not 5 stars is because the waiter forgot our appetizer (he brought as soon as he could but that was just before food came out), and it took a long time for the check to show up even though he knew we had a time we had to get out of there. He was friendly though and food and cocktails were delicious!
The WORST waitress ever! Food was wrong & bad. Drinkers were terrible. Great location but man they have iissues!!
The view overlooking the river is outstanding. Their portions are huge. Drinks were great and very reasonable not to mention a huge beer selection. Our server (can’t remember her name but she’s from Louisiana) was awesome. Super attentive and knew all of the menu.
I originally went to Ale Asylum for the Downtown Dining Week options, but the menu had so many appealing offerings that I hadn't previously been aware of, we ended up getting a handful of different dishes. All we very high quality and well made. I'd highly recommend!
Perfect almost-summer evening! The atmosphere (outside on the patio along the river) was wonderful and the food was amazing! But the best part was the Riverside Radler, which is going to be my new summer beer of choice!
We came Downtown Dinning 2019.
First,I parked in the assigned lot for $3 parking but was charged $11! The server talked down to us when we tried to explain this to her.
My Reuben rolls were good but were sitting in so much grease that I had heart burn all night. My fish was good but the orzo was only seasoned w oil. And the strawberry shortcake was phoned in w SaraLee poundcake. The meal was ok. But the service was not good. I do not plan to return to this restaurant- even though my friends deviled eggs were awesome. It's not worth it.
Stopped in before Bucks’ game with reservations. We were sat right away, food was good and beer cold. The only issue was the large gaps of time between the server checking in on us during our time there. She missed out on two more rounds of drinks. If they were busy it would have been more understandable however the restaurant was not even half full.
Waitress shared too much personal life
The only miss - and I’m speculating - they decided not to honor their happy hour... Bucks playoff that evening.... please - you advertise a happy hour - then honor it...
Been to Ale Asylum a number of times. Solid beer list, food is good yet basic. I'll be back.
Fun place, great beer, and food. Overlooks the river and is an easy walk to Fiserv Center.
Great service great food and drinks enjoyed the ambiance our waitress was very attentive.
I ordered a pork sandwich. It was completely flavorless, tasted like cardboard. I dont know how that is even possible. My husband ordered cayenne battered chicken and waffles with bourbon syrup. While it was edible, it didn't have any of the advertised flavors which he was disappointed about.
