Midway meet up location with friends from NJ and DC area. Valet parking $10...a deal. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Margaret is a gem. There were six of us tucked away in a cozy corner which in case we were a bit talkative (!) didn’t disturb other diners. We tend to laugh a lot! Bar choices/wine list - excellent. The food never disappoints! Good variety of appetizers and entrees of pastas, meat and fish courses to choose from. Portions generous enough to take home left overs. Looking forward to our next get together!
Phenomenal meal and service
Sadly we had to return both dinners due to high Salt Content. They of course did not charge us for the dinners.
As per usual, the food was most delicious, and well prepared. The staff is always helpful and made great suggestions as per specials and beverages. I prefer to sit in the bar area, which is intimate and attractive. Since I've moved to the county I haven't had the chance to be there as often as I'd like, but it certainly is worth the longer drive.
First time here. The owner, Aldo, made us our favorite, Cacia e Pepe. Not even on the menu. Had dinner at the bar. Great experience!!
A lovely romantic restaurant with very nice food but overpriced cocktails
Very good food-foie gras was on point! Service was great as well! Very accommodating, we had a reservation for 7 but 3 cancelled last minute so they seated us at a table for 4. One of the couples ended up saying they’d make it and they moved us to a bigger table no problem!
Excellent place for a special date. Quiet and romantic. Staff was attentive and the food and wine were great. Not cheap, but good value for your money. We'll be back for the next special occasion!
I/we have been there many times. This was another fabulous meal. Great atmosphere. Not loud but still has a bit of a vibe. Food is quite good. The wine list is not huge but has many selections that do not break the bank. We had a quiet table in an alcove, there are a number of these. It feels like dining in my den. Love it there, it is my "go to" place when I want to relax, have great food and wine, and go home smiling.
We come to Aldo's second year for Easter Brunch. We love it. Hope Aldo continues to have Easter Brunch with more selections.
Good food. Beautiful space. We had a Russian waiter (don’t know his name) who was really wonderful. Would recommend.
Service and food are great! Risottos and pastas are amazing! Tiramisu is highly recommended! I will come back
The food was delicious with excellent presentation. The service was exceptional as well.
Usually make a stop at Aldo's every quarter. Always enjoy the food, regardless the season.
There are a lot of things a restaurant has to get right to make it a great experience. Aldo's got a 5 out of 5 on every moment of the dining experience. Outstanding! We will definitely be back. Great food. Great Service. Great Experience.
Our last visit to Aldo's 2 years ago was amazing, but this time there appeared to be problems with the service and the kitchen. The server seemed to be fairly new, was difficult to understand and not as attentive as I experienced last time. Also, one couple got the pasta duo, and it arrived cold and had to be sent back. This was a Saturday at 6:30--it was full but not unexpectedly so.
Our first visit to Aldo's was exceptional. The food, service and atmosphere were wonderful! We will definitely be back!
Excellent food with good choice. but service was less than excellent
We had a delightful dinner and dining experience. We will return! The wine list didn't live up to the preformed expectations from reading reviews: too many ridiculously priced big names (who buys these?), they didn't have the Fiano from Campania in stock, nor the Pinot Grigio we requested. Being an Italian restaurant of some repute, they need some more moderate Italian reds and whites that they can recommend because those wines are readily available - I know from personal experience. We ended up with a Pinot Gris from Oregon which was very good, but not Italian!
I took my husband here for his birthday and he loved it. The valet parking was wonderful and the service was amazing. It was a wonderful night.
Celebrating a wedding anniversary we made plans to dine at this Baltimore gem. Greeted by Margaret at the entrance we were made to feel immediately part of the family which set the tone for the rest of the evening. Enjoying a pre dinner drink at the bar with regulars the bar has an inclusive and comforting old world feel. Loved it. Seated at a cozy, elegant, and quiet table we were very impressed with the decor and the ambiance. Our waiter David picked right up where Margaret left off covering the specials for the evening and knowledgeably helping us pick a very nice bottle of wine. We enthusiastically recommend the eggplant parmigiana appetizer which is as good as we have ever had. The pasta trio is a very nice way to sample the restaurants homemade pastas which we thoroughly enjoyed and plan to come back for as an entree. The veal chop and the veal Francese were another win for Aldo's. With no room to taste the dessert offerings we were pleased to be offered a glass of Aldo's homemade crema di limoncello which was really good and new to us. Deserving of the five stars we and others have given it this is a very fine restaurant, with great staff, great food and where we will certainly return.
Only issue when we arrived and advised hostess we had a Open Table reservation for 2, she informed us they didn’t accept reservations for only 2. Fortunately there was a table available. Otherwise it could have been a long wait. Should be noted at Open Table.
Aldo’s was amazing—everything went perfectly from the timing, to the waitstaff, it was just great.
Real quality Italian food. Top notch, caring service. Great experience.
Food was good, but not especially memorable and expensive. The service was spotty and the wine list was very disappointing. Virtually nothing under $70 a bottle. With so many other great options in Baltimore’s Little Italy, I probably won’t go back.
The menu notes fresh clams however I was served canned clams. I came here for for fresh and live clams used in Linguine in Clams, however I was served a dish where the meal was on par with Olive Garden. Unless the chef cooked and unshelled over 100 cockles before reintroducing them into the pasta this was definitely canned.
Perfect as always
Delicious and delightful old fashioned Southern Italian. The pastas, including gluten free, were outstanding. Eggplant Parmigiano was superb. It is a restaurant that is splendid for Family dining which you should add to your list! Can hardly wait to go back!
Number 1 Italian restaurant in the Mid-Atlantic area. My wife had the Ossobuco and I had the Tuscan grilled veal chop. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious. The prices may seem high, but once you taste the food you will be glad you came. The waiters are excellent. They are very knowledgeable about the wines.
Very nice, intimate atmosphere. Took my girlfriend here for a Valentine's Day date. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, Rigatoni alla Vodka, flourless chocolate cake, and glasses of wine. Every bite we took, down to the bread and olive oil was simply to die for. My only point of contention was that we were seated away from the main seating area which had open tables and were brought to the back of the second floor right next to an eyesore of an open storage closet/walkway. Aside from that hiccup, the waiters were friendly and my date went amazingly well. I will be coming again.
The food was excellent, and was served (suspiciously) quickly. My date ordered the lobster risotto, which she absolutely loved. I had the pasta with vodka sauce, which was also really good. Dessert on the other hand was a little lackluster, the tiramisu being a little too chocolatey for my taste, and the chocolate mouse was simply decadent to a fault.
The restaurant is dated as far as the decor. The service and the attentiveness was excellent. We ordered the eggplant tower and the asparagus soup, both really good. My husband who is also an executive chef commented that the chicken in the chicken Marsala had no seasoning not even salt & pepper. He said the Parmesan rissotto did not have enough Parmesan. It was really plain risotto. My filet mignon was cooked too done for me especially because i had asked for medium rare. I sent my steak back 2x, and each time the steak was medium well. The waiter said that the chef said "that's his version of medium rare because the steak is thin". My husband said that's unprofessional and not true. He said you cook it either medium rare or you don't and it had nothing to do with how thin the steak is. If it's thin, then you don't cook it too long. I was disappointed because I really wanted the foie gras with the truffled mushroom sauce that came with the steak. That's the only reason why I chose this restaurant for our Valentines Day dinner. I ordered something else which was the linguine and clams along with the arugula salad. It was good but I have had better. I'm not overwhelmed to come back.
The ambiance was amazing and so so nice. It was quite and you are treated like royalty. The food was very good and they have a great wine selection as well.
Even though we had a reservation, we waited for 25mins or more to be seated.
Bad experience, food was average and service was poor.
Would never go back
Wonderful food and service!
Overall a great expierence. The whole staff from the busboy to our server was attentive to our needs. Great atmosphere amd great food.
Service was terrible. It was Valentine’s Day so no necessarily the best time to judge a restaurant but I was pretty disappointed. some of the food was pretty good, the wine was ok and the service was fair at best. And there was a 20% gratuity added to the check. As a former server, I can appreciate this gesture by management, however I feel that the service suffered because of the guaranteed tip. I’d like to assume it’s not always so poor. For $260, I expected a whole lot more quality for 2 people. Do not waste your money.
A great experience once again. This time, our anniversary dinner. The veal dishes were perfect!
The service was great and the food was wonderful .
