A literal gem in Baltimore. We had heard nothing of the restaurant and didn't know what to expect but were absolutely blown away by the quality of food and great service.
Bottom line: EXCELLENT food, wine selection, service and ambience. I was in town for a conference and selected Aldo's based on reviews highlighting fresh and local sourcing and proud family history. I was seated at 5:45 on a Friday in early March. I was one of a handful of early dinners on a Friday night. Wine list was beyond extensive. Risotto with mushrooms in demi-glaze appetizer was spot on and delicious. Sea bass was fresh, grilled with pesto and finished with a lemon garlic sauce under the broiler and roasted tomatoes. To end the meal, I offered the tirami save found it to be the best I've ever had in 40 years. A complimentary, house-made limoncello was delightful. Service was impeccable.
Our 12th wedding anniversary. Wait staff was amazing, food was outstanding and the wine was superb
Aldo's was a first-time visit for the four of us. We got what we expected: the menu was authentically Italian, the food was very good, the service was excellent. We appreciated the overall lack of blaring music: the room was a little loud but it was conversational. We were also allowed to linger and did not feel at all rushed, which we appreciated. All in all, we will go back and try other things ont he menu. The chicken marsala was good, the fish was good, the dessert (apple tart) was small but good.
Very classy and nice ambiance. Outstanding food! Loved it and would definitely go back!
Great food, ambience and service. We brought our 9 and 11 year old boys to experience the best Italian food in Baltimore and they made it 3 hours with no iPads!!! They loved the food and each got the $26/person pasta trio with Carbonara, rigatoni a la vodka and linguini with clams (only thing they weren’t crazy about). We also got lobster risotto for 4, the filet with foie gras and mushroom demi which was immaculate. Desert was also a hit with tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and lemonchello profiteroles. The profiteroles were one of the best deserts I’ve ever eaten. It was a great family dinner that made some great memories with our kids leaving the iPads in the car for a change. Worth the $400 + $100 tip to have such a great evening.
Menu very interesting. Staff friendly and attentive.
Well pleased with the food and service, as were my guests
The food was very delicious. Every course was great. It was the best Marsala I’ve ever had. The service was impeccable. Great date night or special occasion place.
Food is excellent!! I would definitely recommend this place.
We had a wonderful meal at Aldo's!
My husband and I were over the moon with our appetizers and entrees. All were beautifully prepared and presented. Our server was amazing, I asked him to make my entree selection for me, and after asking me a few thoughtful questions he did, and I couldn't have been more delighted with his selection.
The wine was perfect with our entrees and the cream limon cello was the true icing on the cake. We will be back for our next special occasion.
Everything was amazing. Service was top notch. Ambience was great, quiet enough to have a conversation without yelling. We had chicken Marsala, linguine with lobster and spaghetti with clams. Everything came out piping hot and tasted delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Service was great, the waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable
First class! We have been patrons there for a long time. We don’t get down there often enough. Again very soon!
We stopped in to Aldo's on the way home to DC from a regional sports tournament. The food was extraordinary, the service was absolutely outstanding, and the hospitality was off the charts. This is precisely the kind of restaurant that Washington DC lacks which you can find from time to time in medium sized cities. Modest, somewhat old-fashioned in appearances, but progressive and formidable with cuisine and absolutely charming in terms of service.
$270 for canned gravy (sauce) and canned clams. Not to mention we ordered a good bottle of wine, the waitress brought out a cheap bottle, we pointed out that it was the wrong bottle and they told us “this is what the distributor replaced the good bottle with”.... save your money, stay home and eat spaghetti O’s and Boone’s farm, you’ll be more satisfied.
Incredible food and service! Worth the occasional splurge.
Amazing meal, service and menu. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Little Italy.
Service was great! Food was amazing!
Food was very very delicious, server was courteous
The ambiance was amazing. We really enjoyed the appetizer and main course. Wine was overpriced but we purchased a bottle.
The atmosphere was dynamic as the layout of the classy but modern design of the restaurant really set the tone of a romantic evening. High quality food and quick service made this an enjoyable experience.
The best romantic restaurant in Baltimore Maryland. Love the family owned atmosphere. Great staff. Great wine. Great food. Best Tiramisu in the US.
I do dine out a lot but I don't normally come her for a feedback unless I find it very necessary. And this time, I'm came here to give a two thumbs up for the wonderful lady who made my Valentine's Day evening very accommodating, despite the hustle and bustle they had that evening. And don't get me wrong, I do love Italian dish and this restaurant lives to your expectation. However, it's not just the food that makes a restaurant great, but the service as well. And for some people like me, I give more value for the service. And this one wonderful lady called Margaret took care of me before and after I arrived at the restaurant. She managed to set flowers on the table on a short notice, sat my guests though I came late, picks the phone and communicate well on a busy evening, helped valet my car. And she was doing all this while politely taking care of a long line of customers. Every restaurant needs one or more of such employees. So, I THANK YOU for your service!
Well, besides that, the host who took me to my sit, the Coat Check person, and our waiter were all pleasant. And we all enjoyed the food. I was proud of my choice! ;-)
Hope to see you soon!
We were there on valentines day, we had limited options for time so we dined early so it was quiet and extremely nice. Dinner and appetizer was excellent, the dessert was good, its unusual when dessert is the least favorite part of the meal. The service was very good, no complaints but the food and atmosphere were the better part of the evening.
amazing experience as always; we feel like we are with family when we are at aldo's; another great job by S@@@ the owner, and B@@@ the server.
We celebrated a wonderful, pre-Valentine’s Day dinner with friends. The service was outstanding, as was the meal. Can’t wait to go back!
If I could, I would give it 11 out of 10 stars!!! But since I can’t, 5 stars all the way.
Drinks were made to perfection. Food from the apps to the dessert made for one of the best dining experiences I have every had. HIGHLY recommended you check out Aldo’s whether it’s a special occasion or for a night to go out and eat. Will definitely be going back.
We had a private room. The service was impeccable. I was contacted in the morning to confirm our reservation and to alert me to a map of driving directions that was available. I mentioned on the call that a member of our party had a pepper allergy. They went out of their way to make it possible to safely eat all the appetizers meant to be shared on the menu. It was a level of effort to accommodate that we have rarely encountered. Every dish is made to order. The food was truly exceptional. The server was so professional. We will certainly make this our new restaurant for special occasions in Baltimore. I cannot say enough about the quality and exceptionalism of this restaurant.
One of the best dining experiences of my life. A party of 8 and we were seated in one of Aldo's little corners/rooms for a semi-private night of perfection. Our waiter, Joe, gave us a small tour of the wine cellar and upstairs rooms, and capped off our special dinner by bringing us each a glass of homemade limoncello (so delicious my daughter bought her own bottle). And we were even lucky enough to have Sergio stop by for a short conversation. Sure, this is a higher-priced meal, but the food was worth every penny and the experience was priceless. Thanks to Sergio, Joe, and everyone at Aldo's!
As always wonderful food and excellent service!
Aldos is the best Italian restaurant in Baltimore!
Excellent service, and the dessert menu is amazing-highly recommend the chocolate mousse.
We went during Restaurant Week. The menu for Restaurant Week was very similar to last year's menu, but we did not mind. The food was good. The service was slow but pleasant; I think they got very busy on the last day of Restaurant Week. It is still one of my favorite restaurants for special occasion dinners.
Service and food was excellent as other visits. The ingredients were simple, high quality, and executed with perfection.
Service was very slow especially for a fixed menu
After order entrees it look 1+hr to receive food, others around who were seated after us got their food first. At one point we were given the wrong food and taken away. Not sure what happened there
Gratuity was included for two people @20% ??
Waiter walked by and shattered a glass and didn’t clean it up for 15min.... pretty dangerous imo
Perfect! Outstanding menu, courses served professionally and well timed with piping hot mouth watering delivery. Make reservation today!
Fabulous first time dining expect! David took wonderful care of us. All good and drink was beautifully presented and flavorful. We will be back.
Absolutely as good as I remember it to be. We dined early just after they opened and had a small quiet room up front to ourselves most of the evening. The waiter was attentive without being bothersome and his suggestions worked out well for us. WE look forward to returning once again.
Excellent birthday dinner. The food was very good and our Waiter (Joe) was excellent.
