Went for restaurant week. Nice menu discounted wine excellent service
Exceeded our expectations! Service and food great. Definitely will go back.
Always eat here when in town! Best Little Italy restaurant. Always bring friends- always a hit.
Shrimp scampi and fettucine is good as main course. Apple tartar for desert.
The food was excellent and the service was very good. It was a little pricey.
We had a really nice experience. They were a little slow in getting to us for drink orders initially (we hadn't realized it was Restaurant Week; they were busy). After that it was a nice, relaxing meal. The food was outstanding, and both our waiter and Aldo himself were very personable. Great evening all around.
From the moment we walked in the door the service was impeccable. We were greeted by Robert who was fabulous then seated at a beautiful table for two. Our server, Eugene was excellent as was all of the staff who made sure we had a great evening. I had the chicken marsala that I am still dreaming about and my boyfriend had fish with a tomato caper sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and highly recommend this place to others.
The food is delicious, sauces tasteful and light. Portion sizes are perfect - not enough to over fill but enough to enjoy!
Went for dinner with a friend. Fabulous choice for a more upscale dining experience in little Italy. The service left nothing to be desired, everyone was friendly and attentive.
A lovely restaurant, very good food, and excellent service. We will definitely eat here again.
Wonderful service and excellent food! We went for the 1st time during Baltimore Restaurant Week and we’ll be going back.
We were not great eexpenders so they did not gave us a great services; food quality varied amng our plates, pasta was very good.
We really enjoy dining at Aldo’s, but this last time was not up to par. I had GF pasta with the clam sauce for my entree. Well, this was just WAY too salty. I didn’t send it back. The GF eggplant was delicious as were the GF meatballs. My husband enjoyed everything but his salty pasta entree, which he left.
Small tables are a bit wobbly
Aldo's is one of the nicer restaurants in Little Italy. It has a nice sophisticated atmosphere with a simple but hard to pick menu offering a wide variety of tasty options.
Service was great from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave the restaurant, not just your table.
They catered to my request to have a single rose at the table with an understandable charge for this.
Food was hot and fresh, great tasting notes. Would recommend the lamb.
There was something happening with the lights that caused them to dim and brighten, I'm assuming a power draw, but that was enough to become annoying.
I would say expect to spend $150-200 +tip for a couple, with a drink, app, main course and desserts.
The food was a more frills than flavor, servers came by to bus table one toom nay times while we ate, made us feel like they wanted us out of the place asap--even though it was pretty dead in there by 830p
Worst experience ever. Went 12/24. Started ok but I didn’t care for my entree. No one check on the food till the busier came. I told him my comments. He then told the server. Server comes out & tells me the chef stands by his preparation- I never said it wasn’t prepared correctly- I said I didn’t like it. He then tells me he was afraid to tell the chef my comments. My boyfriend ordered a cannoli & they bring out tiramisu. Server blames the back brings out the cannoli then places a fork in front of me to “share” the other dessert. Guess he forgot I told him I was allergic to gluten & I ordered GF pasta for the entree.
We pay $240 incl the mandatory 20% tip & our coats to leave. It then goes down hill even faster. My mother’s cloves were missing. They were inside deep pockets with a flap covering the opening. My BF coat was on top of mine on the same hanger. Do you think the fell out? No possible way. We went to the bar for a drink when we 1st got there. Nothing at the bar. And I know I took off my gloves & put them in my pockets as I entered because it was a cold night out.
A very rude & condescending server stepped in to try to find the gloves. He even refused to look at me & attempted to dismiss me by not even trueing to look at me and answer my questions. He looked at my BF looking for him to step in which he did not. My BF knew I had thins under control it was the server who was loosing his cool & raised his voice at me so loud other patrons were looking at him.
Manager had to finally respond the the server’s scene - he had to tell him to stop & walk away. It was that bad.
The gloves that can never be replaced are gone. Someone there stole my Mom’s gloves. Manager said he’d do something to make it right. Nothing was done. I grew up in Baltimore & dined many times in Little Italy. This was not Little Italy. Spend your $ elsewhere.
Food was delicious. We ate in the side room which was cozy and quiet. Tiramisu was the best we have ever had. Love the homemade Lemoncello.
Aldo’s is known for being a very high-quality restaurant. Our family has eaten there periodically in the past. On this occasion, we were let down by the quality of the service and the overall value delivered for the price.
Our server was attentive, but was unfamiliar with most aspects of the restaurant including available liquors, available substitutions to the menu, and general knowledge about the preparations. There is quite a variety of wine available, however the pricing is extravagant with no selections under $60.
In terms of value, the surf and turf special was $72, which was $15-20 more expensive then it should have been for what we received.
All told, $700 for party of 4, two bottles of wine, and no dessert....we left satisfied, but unsure of the value. We will return, but will consider other options first.
Having been gone from Baltimore for a little over 5 years I was able to get back to town and have an afternoon lunch with old friends. I chose Aldo's, they are only open for lunch for the Holidays and was not disappointed. Even though the Veal Milanese was no longer on their menu the waiter assured me that they would make it special for us. They did and it was as good as it ever was. Maybe the best Veal Milanese I have ever had. The service, food and overall friendliness of the entire staff almost leas to me missing my flight home. I hope it's not another 5 years before I return.
Aldo's is only open for lunch one week a year. I'm really glad my group was able to dine here. The food and service were absolutely first rate. I look forward to my next dinner visit.
What a great old school restaurant. We live in DC and had family visiting us. Decided to spend a weekend in Baltimore and could not have been more thrilled with Aldo’s. The pasta was amazing and they were eager to cater to one of our guest’s dietary needs.
Absolutely the best Italian restaurant in Little Italy. It was simply amazing!
Wild boars meat pasta was phenomenal
Eugene was an amazing host. His service really made the night special. The food and wine was excellent and plentiful. They really have a cute space and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet, romantic, intimate setting.
My family had a birthday dinner for 9 of us at Aldo's this past Sunday. For as many times I've been to Baltimore's Little Italy, this was my first visit to Aldo's. And I quickly realized I had been missing one of the best of the bunch. We had a baby with us, and right from the beginning, the staff were very attentive and accommodating to our needs. The food was excellent. I had the best veal dish (Francese) I ever had, and my fellow family members likewise agreed regarding their dishes. Service was impeccable - never in our way, but always ready to provide whatever we asked for. Aldo's has definitely moved to the top of my list for restaurants in our Little Italy.
Aldos is one of my favorite places. We have a group of 20 + that meets in one of the meeting rooms upstairs 3 or 4 times per year and always have excellent service. My most recent visit was for my birthday with my family and it was excellent. Sergio and Aldo are the best. Great place to have a wonderful meal
Always perfect! The food, service and ambiance can’t be beat. The best around!
2 steaks were not cooked correctly which was not a big deal until the maitre'd decided to lecture the guests on how they should check their steak. " cut into the center not the edge". When the replacement steaks arrived they were very underdone but the guests didn't want any more confrontation so simply accepted them but vowed not to return.
Too bad as the food was good, with 2 exceptions and the ambiance was great but sadly we will not return.
I always go to Aldo's when I am in Baltimore and can't recommend enough. Love the pasta trio because I can never decide on one thing. Homemade taste done elegantly.
We were excited about going to the restaurant, had tried to in our last couple of trips to Baltimore. The food was disappointing - the tuna tartare and our veal dishes lacking flavor. The buttermilk panna cotta was excellent. The servers were attentive; however, we got our bread and olives after the appetizer and the food overall was brought out much too quickly. The restaurant was not busy, many empty tables for a Saturday night...no excuse there. Disappointed that I am having to write a less than glowing reviews.
The food was great, every course, even dessert. It was a pricey meal, but for a special occasion you won't be disappointed. Every person in our party was pleased.
This was a great experience truly a 5 star restaurant. The service from the front door to the wait staff was just outstanding. The food was fresh and tasty. Hot and satisfying to the taste buds.
Aldos never disappoints and always delivers a memorable meal. Service is outstanding and well paced, never intrusive and friendly. Like valet parking availability. Bronzini fish perfect!
What a wonderful experience! We entertained in-the-know, New York clients. We were warmly received and promptly shown to a lovely 4 top in a cozy side room. We experienced impeccable service and outstanding food. Everyone loved what they ordered. Serious diners need to rediscover the gems in Little Italy where Aldo's is the best, in my opinion.
Great atmosphere with an experienced staff and excellent food. Would recommend to any of my friends and family visiting Baltimore.
Noisy, crowded, with slow service but with a wonderful pasta tasting menu they call "ALDO’S “DEGUSTAZIONE OF PASTA” which offers a choice of two or three different pastas (make sure you get the Bucatini ala Carbonara for the equal of Rome's best) and a terrific tiramisu. It was so filling we never got to a main course - next time!
A very nice menu that is always delicious
My favorite dining place for authentic Italian cuisine is, most definitely, Aldo's in Little Italy. Each course is prepared with emphasis on the freshest available ingredients and excellent presentation by professional and friendly staff.
Wonderful food and amazing service. I’d highly recommend!
