Our waitress was nice, but the "hostess" was anything but hospitable. She was actually quite rude. The restaurant was relatively empty when I arrived for a 6:00 reservation (probably around 10% full) and she sat me at the table in the farthest back corner of the restaurant. I asked if we could sit somewhere closer to the front by the windows. She gave me a nasty look and asked why I wanted to move. She finally said she had to "check." After a couple of minutes she came back and grabbed the menus and told me to follow her. It didn't get any better from there. The food was just okay. Wouldn't go back.
Loved the food, great flavors, great fresh ingredients.
Food was put together in interesting ways, always a fun experience to try different things! We got 5 plates for two people which was enough but it depends on what you order and how hungry you are. Cocktails were very strong and good.
My guest loves the fresh fruit side dish on the brunch menu. She always orders that and was again delighted with it as her main course. I find the spicy Bloody Mary's to be delightful. Almost all of the menu delights my taste buds. Service was friendly, helpful, and timely ... as always.
Incredible food with tapas style brunch options. Great overall experience
Great Birthday Brunch for my mom and myself. The food was outstanding and our server was attentive.
The food was amazing -- so many great flavors. And the service was just right.
Souper agréable entre amis. Nous avons partagé plusieurs plats, et tout était délicieux. Cuisine créative. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant.
Food creativity is excellent for basic brunch gare
We were told things would come out in the order they were ready. Our bad. We ordered all at once and got slammed. Table next to us only ordered a few things at a time. Good strategy. Kale salad was truly amazing. Manager was great. Would definitely return if we lived here...go for the kale.
Always a good bet. Excellent food and amazing bartenders. I would call the bartenders 'cocktail enthusiasts'.
Delicious plates well-prepared and presented but not for the faint of wallet. Too noisy for a quiet evening out.
Delicious food and excellent service! The dishes were all fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. I will definitely come back!
More entrees that are not so unusual such as pasta, more chicken dishes, etc.
Wine was expensive, given the single serve quantity. No pinot noir available by glass.
Service was really good.
Enjoyed the scrambled eggs and pig's tail the most. We arrived right when they were opening so we were able to convince the hostess to move us from the dark corner to the atrium section with natural light. Excellent food.
imaginative and creative food...delicious!
small plates are both more fun and healthier!
Had a fantastic brunch with a friend. We tried several of the brunch items from the menu and all were fresh and delicious! They came out at a good pace. Wish they offered espresso options. Only option was coffee which was priced high at $4 . Had to call server ro request refill, which was then filled only half way. Server did not come back to ask if we needed more coffee or water. Excellent food, ambience and location. Would return again for brunch with the family.
Food was delicious. Great orange wine list! Knowledge staff.
Always solid, consistent and yummy. Would recommend.
Perfect for a tasty, relaxed, shared plates dinner in Harvard Square.
We’ll be back!
Fabulous meal. Definitely will return. Kale salad & halloumi beet salad were stand-outs for me.
3/5 dishes were great and 2 were similar and less exciting. Drinks great and ambiance lively but on loud side. The food is innovative and exciting but not always hitting Mark
Great food and drinks. Like the eclectic small plate menu.
Great restaurant for a chance to celebrate a special occasion. Food was outstanding and distinctive. Plates were just the right size to share. Although the restaurant was busy, service was punctual and courteous.
Great great food
The food was outstanding. It took them a very long time to bring drinks and I just ordered beer.
Sever was very attentive to our vegetarians. Much appreciated.
We travelled from Canada and had booked a night at Alden & Harlow after some online searching. It did not disappoint! The food was incredible, loved the laid-back atmosphere, and the overall feel of the place. One of the best meals we have ever had! Do yourself a favour and order the brussel sprouts.
Family brunch for Easter. Food was good but the three Easter items did not appeal. We (family of 4 with 2 children) were seated by the bar and it was too dark and noisy. Not great.
Had a great Easter brunch/birthday meal! The servers were so kind, even adding a last-minute extra seat to our reservation. They even remade one of our dishes after someone came a little later than expected so that that person could have a hot dish! The food itself was delicious and the drinks were well thought out and were the perfect addition to the meal.
Overall a five star meal beginning to end. The food is very creative and bursting in flavors. My family of five had a memorable Easter weekend experience. We each ordered a personal plate, and shared three others, tapas style; roasted potatoes, hickory smoked tails in grits, and the pickled corn pancakes were all to die for. The secret 8 oz burgers were also as advertised, outstanding! Would recommend you make reservations or get there early because this neiborhood gem filled to capacity quickly. A friendly staff, headed by our server, Aaron, who provides very good service, complimented the exceptional food.
In town for the weekend, and found this place on the Philly 50, and was looking for both a Small Plate restaurant and an excuse to hit Cambridge for a few hours. The menu had many choices on it both for meat/fish/veggie options. For two persons, we were stuffed with 5 plates.. which doesnt always happen at a tapas portion restaurant. The veggie options tend to be much larger then you would expect which is nice and healthy way to fill up while eating good food. The wine selection was varied, and for the most part was reasonable in its starting end. The wait staff was very attentive, and the bussing was almost "too attentive" since sometimes I felt like I wants one last lick on a plate and boom they were there to take it. We sat in the section which I can only describe as the 'wall jungle' and at 6'2 it was a bit annoying since I could feel the plants on the top of my head if I sat up. It was a nice table in the corner, but if your tall stay away from this location. The food was very good, the flavor profiles were fun but not always complex.. in some cases could be overwhelming one way or another but this is by no means a insult just an observation as we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The best part was the check. For 5 plates, wine, etc the price was VERY reasonable. That alone makes everything taste better IMHO when you can get a good meal at a reasonable and fair price. Suggestion would be that the pork belly come with a serrated knife, since the crispy of the skin side was almost impossible to cut without one. Great neighborhood hotspot, and worth the trip if you haven't tried it yet. Some reviews I think are a bit overly critical, at this price range you can't compare it with a 3 star Michelin... for what you get for what it is... great choice for a dinner out.
Great food and vibe!
The food was so well balanced and fresh. The service is is outstanding, relaxed but attentive. Prices are in line with what you get.
Nice location and great food for brunch. Because items come out when ready, we had our eggs well before the grits were done which we were hoping to eat together. But overall the food was great and we'll certainly be back!
The service was excellent. We were celebrating a birthday and our server brought over ice cream for the birthday girl with a candle. It was the perfect way to end our birthday brunch.
Wonderful as always. Delicious food, great service.
Excellent creative food. Servers need some education in wine. Ordered a bottle of white and they just left it on the table to get warm. Also the server had no idea to describe what the dessert wines were like.
Food was excellent; wait person was charming and helpful. Atmosphere is fun and location is great for Harvard Square. It was a unique experience for our out of town visitors.
Only hesitation is that it can be on the pricey side, depending on what you get. One of the plates sounded like a full dinner but was not more than the smaller plates (pork belly) at twice the price. That particular one was not worthwhile. But other choices, including pancakes (great to end the meal, like a dessert), latkes (out of this world), several vegetable dishes were all yummy.
Went here with business colleagues, great food and service.
