Amazing meal and service. Alicia was such a great server! We celebrated Dad's retirement.
Outside seating, kindly moved us to shade, from mid day sun.
Protocol for safety in these times was great. Being relaxed and able to briefly enjoy outside dining is a real skill. We are thankful.
Was great! You pay for it.... but A&H always delivers a great experience!!
A busy satisfying night at a great restaurant.
Tight service, creative and yummy food. Really tasty cocktails.
At our table we had a couple of hours that felt like the better part of a normal life.
Wonderful time. They easily modified a few dishs to satisfy my partners dietary needs. Server was wonderfully nice, and bartenders were knowledgeable.
Our server, Talia, was just outstanding.
Great place to celebrate a special occasion! Enjoyed ourselves
My only suggestion is to have all meals come to the table at the same time. The wait staff made a mistake and one of our party had his meal greatly delayed. However, the manager was sure to help and he also provided some assistance with the bill as a result. This was quite appropriate and much appreciated.
It was a wonderful meal and great service! Perfect way to celebrate my staff
Our waitress was so kind and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. She described this restaurant as family-style and similar to Barcelona Wine Bar’s tapas dishes but larger portions; I didn’t think the portions were significantly larger than those of Barcelona. It was a very classy and esthetic vibe and the cocktail I got (which I didn’t think I’d like but took a risk) was SO delicious. It was called the Daisy Cutter; it has grapefruit infused vodka, elderflower, pomegranate, lemon, and rose. I loved our salmon and Brussels sprouts. The patatas bravas were very average.
The food at A & H was great as usual. However, there was significant delay in being served our drinks and 2 out of 3 main courses. I'm sympathetic to the idea that there might have been a staffing shortage in the kitchen (which wasn't stated but since my entree was a steak, i have to assume this accounted for the delay. It was almost 90 minutes before i was served the entree, and although the waitstaff apologized graciously, it didn't seem up to the standards one reasonably expects. Same problem w/ a glass of wine and an iced tea--we'd finished the appetizer course before drinks appeared, including 2 rounds of potatoes braves. The staff did offer a free whoopee pie for a birthday dessert, which was kind, but the delays were still disappointing.
Very nice environment and friendly staff
Overall this place is super meh. First we had to wait almost 30 minutes to be seated even though we had made a reservation. Second, we were stuck in a corner of the restaurant, and usually i'm fine with that but after waiting almost 30 minutes it was a bit rude. Although we asked our food to be staggered as it came out they brought out our main course while we were still eating appetizers. We had to stop eating our appetizers so our main course wouldn't get cold. I would love to say that the flavors made up for it but they just didn't. Everything was very meh. Lastly, dessert was awful. The smoked chocolate bread pudding was just WAYY too smoky and felt like I was eating charcoal. I love dessert but ended up just eating the vanilla ice cream off the top. Overall, NOT worth the price at all. Way overpriced for what it is.
Food was good and enjoyed the small plates concept but although we asked for the courses to be space out many came at the same time. Our server was okay but not very engaging
Great food (except for the carbonara - can't really recommend that one), service is very slow - maybe due to covid.
Best restaurant in boston. Extremely innovative and delicious
Amazing food in a very safe outdoor atmosphere! Easy to reserve and easy to find.
No heaters outside
The restaurant felt a little sleepy, mostly because they were adhering to COVID occupancy restrictions. The food was all large portions and tasted good.
Nice atmosphere, located in the heart of Cambridge. Food was very hit and miss. Corn cakes were an unusual hit, as was the Focaccia and pasta dish. Beets were over seasoned and the bread pudding desert was inedible - due to an overpowering smokey flavor. All in all, a nice place but be sure to ask your server for recommendations to avoid the misses. The hits are quite good.
A & H are making the sidewalk setting work well. Thoughtfully set up, and everything arrived hot (food) or cool (white wine) as appropriate. Food was tasty, in responsible portions, and take out containers are paper.
Wonderful food! Loved the Brussels - literally some of the best I’ve ever had! Potatas Bravas were good too! However, disappointed at the drinks and onion dip - would definitely skip next time. Overall good, service was just okay.
This restaurant had the potential to be good - a great ambiance and a friendly server - but was overall a big disappointment. The food is overpriced and not good. The quality of the ingredients does not feel fresh. The drinks were $16 and tasted watered down, lacking flavor. I wouldn’t recommend this spot.
Alden & Harlow has easily been the best restaurant I've been to since pandemic restrictions have eased up. The service, vibes, and food was all great.
The grilled rosemary focaccia is a real highlight. The bread is crispy and flavorful all by itself but that honey/root vegetable/ricotta dip was a revelation. It's hard to describe how incredible this dip is - a must order dish.
The Ora King Salmon was another incredible dish. Salmon cooked perfectly and every garnish complimented the dish so well. The butter, crepe, and vinaigrette along with the salmon made for a perfect bite.
The chips and onion dip was a nice starter to snack on. Same with the Patatas Bravas, crispy and not super starchy. The pickled corn cake was also tasty. Sweet, salty, and the popcorn adds a nice crunch.
The burrata was my least favorite dish. The biscotti was super dense and with the strawberry and burrata just didn't work.
Great Birthday dinner, socially distanced with great food.
Outstanding food and service!! Went for brunch, looking forward go to dinner soon!
The plate was so small I was hungry after. It should of been advertised as an appetizer. I had the salmon. Could just about get a bite in and it was gone.
LOVED the special burger
Great for vegetarians!! Delicious, creative dishes and cocktails
Service was slow, food was okay. My salad was 20 minutes behind everyone else’s food. Food came out cold. Prices too high given all of this.
Very good service! Food was terrific with all shareable plates! Nice ambience!
Food was great and fast. Had Brussel Sprout appetizer and 12 oz steak as well as creme brûlée shared between 2. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. I especially liked the mushroom fritter things. We we left in attended for long periods of time, but the staff was terrific when they did come around.
TLDR: everything here is great, it’s just expensive.
Wonderful service, our waitress was very attentive and walked us through the way that this restaurant operates. She had great recommendations for both food and drinks, and we had great conversation with her. That being said, this place is expensive. I would recommend coming with more than two people because these plates are meant to be shared. Ordering three entrees and splitting them between 4 people seems like it would be amazing. The cocktail I had, a blood orange mezcal drink, was delicious but I don’t think I would order it again at $16. Beer was good, my girlfriends wine was good. The potatoes we got were spicy, cheesy, and delicious. The chicken special was moist and flavorful. Everything here was great, if not a little pretentious. My only major complaint was that it was pretty loud inside, but we got used to it quickly.
1) had to ask to move tables twice because the initial person ignored the request
2) ordered the broccoli. Was so spicy that we couldn’t handle it. Doesn’t say spicy anywhere in the description. Then had an overwhelming taste of lemon. Left the dish untouched and server had nothing to say about that
3) ordered a Diet Coke no ice. Got a Diet Coke with ice overflowing
When charging these prices, you cannot forgive the above issues
The food was excellent, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The service was very slow, although the waitress told us it was her first day. Overall, great.
Good food options, very pleasant service. A bit pricey, but hey, it’s Cambridge. Execution is a little off on food as in undercooked and/or cold dishes.
We hadn't been since the beginning of COVID but tables were spaced well and as usual, the food was incredible! Great service and a beautiful space. Highly recommend it!
The unique combinations of flavors and presentation were outstanding!
We loved everything and wish we had room to order more.
Can't wait to go back!
I didn’t expect the outdoor seating to be out of the sun and not have any heat lamps— definitely plan for this before you reserve outdoor seating. Other than that, our server was awesome and we had a great experience.
This place is really cute but the service was absolutely awful. It took forever to have a server come over, our appetizer showed up after one of the entrees, and one persons entree showed up after everyone else at the table had nearly finished their meals. The manager seemed to imply that the food just came out whenever and I shouldn’t be anything but patient. As if I’ve never been in a restaurant before where they can actually coordinate with the kitchen. Really disappointed
