Our dining experience was fabulous. Food was wonderful and our server was attentive. Always a good spot!
Great food, innovative. They tell you plates are small, however the portion size is generous.
We sat outside due to preference apropos to where we are in the pandemic, and were seated at a wobbly table. Whenever we asked our waitress for something, like a wedge to balance the table, she disappeared for a long time and forgot we needed somethings. We asked another waitress to help us because we had drinks that would have spilled. She was not at all knowledgeable about the food or drink menu.
Overall food and drinks were generous, and I took some of it home.
We always love the food here!
We had mixed up the reservation time and arrived late (30 minutes :/) but they still happily sat us.
This is a lovely restaurant with great ambiance. The cocktails were delicious, and presented beautifully. However, the “focaccia” was more of a soft garlic bread, not truly what I think of as focaccia; the seared tuna was cooked well but bland, and the Brussels sprouts were average. The pasta dish was good, but overall we were underwhelmed with the food.
Food was just ok, service was slow with drinks and food…very haphazard with flow of dishes and forgot an entree —never ordered.
Disappointing and significant drop off from 3-4 years ago.
Though the drinks were excellent
Great place to do a Boozy brunch with friends. Try the Brussels sprouts and eggs Benedict
everything was great
server was very nice
Wonderful evening. Tremendous service, exceptional food, an absolute class act.
Excellent food, kind and friendly waitstaff. Would consider a little overpriced, but its in the heart of Harvard Square and we’re coming out of a pandemic.
We were so pleased with everything about our experience at Alden & Harlow. The food was inventive and delicious, the service was top notch and the dining room was lovely. We can’t wait to go back!
This place was incredible. Portions are generous for the price in my opinion and had a great variety of stuff without an overwhelming menu.
We got the brussels sprouts (must try), the steak tartare, and the mackerel. All of them were so unique and delicious it was hard to not get more!
Between 2 of us, 2 "apps" and 1 "entree" were more than enough!
Cute outdoor atmosphere. Coke was flat. Water was served Luke warm on a 95 degree evening…. A little ice wouldn’t have hurt. Daisy cocktail was good! Tuna was amazing, so was the onion dip. The secret burger was pretty good but not jaw dropping based on its reputation. The ribeye was really good. I didn’t personally like either desert but I know people who loved both so it was a personal taste. Overall a good experience.
Wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu but did not check back often enough for refills and we waited about 15 minutes after we were ready to leave before the bill was brought. Food was very tasty, but portions were on the small side.
great kale salad. I ordered a plain, medium rare burger and it was charred on the outside and almost too rare inside. Hard as a rock. I'm writing because I would like to see this place flourish but those kinds of inconsistencies/errors will not help in this goal. our server was sweet and efficient.
Fun place , food is not the same as before tho !!!
Same dishes but not consistent!
Was looking forward to the experience after reading the reviews, but it was really disappointing. Had beets and cauliflower caesar to start. Caesar was good (lots of dressing, so that could be toned down), beets were inedible--so salty that we sent them back. Second course: salmon and carrot bolognese. Again, the sides for the salmon were nearly inedible because of the salt content. The bolognese was fine, but the sauce was gloopy and overall the whole meal was extremely disappointing. The outdoor dining is fine, but nothing to write home about. We won't go back.
Food was outstanding, service was fantastic
Amazing food, amazing cocktails!
Special shout out to our waitress Christine on her first night.
Toonoisy to carry on much of a conversation.
Inadequate lighting to read menu.
Alden and Harlow never fails to provide a wonderful dining experience. The food is phenomenal, the staff is great, and the outdoor dining set-up for summer is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Outdoor patio had so much machinery noise- some kind of machinery from a neighboring building as well as screeching that I assume was the T below.
We really like the food here, the rabbit was delicious and the burger was scrumptious. Our waitress was very friendly and charming. Drinks were good. The only problem was that it took a long time for the food to come but we were made aware of that beforehand.
Perfect spot for brunch in the neighborhood. The food and cocktails were outstanding. The prices might be a bit higher than some of the more casual spots in the area, but it is worth every penny.
Had the best meal of my life!! What a perfect way to spend my anniversary!!
Alden & Harlow consistently has unique delicious small plates that my wife and I love sharing. Great drinks. Exceptional service.
Awesome food!! So nice to sit outside. Food came out fast. Awesome mezcal drink. Big portions;) people nice
Do Not go if you are looking for a decent glass of wine. Not available. Also, no chicken available on the menu. Skip the cauliflower Ceasar, mother of god it was swimming in a heavy Mayo-like dressing. Thank you- NEXT
Incredibly friendly and attentive staff, and the food and cocktails were superb
Good food, great cocktails and ambience. Recommend for a nice night out with friends or even a date night.
It was a beautiful night and the food was incredible!
I have compassion for restaurants recovering from the pandemic however, none of what I experienced were related.
Waitress was rude, ignored us, never checked on us, never brought us drinks, and failed to acknowledge that I didn’t touch my food because I was served a completely raw burger. I ended up with no food because our waitress was nowhere to be found. I sat there growing I’ll over looking at the most foul looking raw meat in front of me.
Very disappointed in the food and more so the service. I have had a few great experiences here in the past but will not be returning.
This was our first time at the restaurant and everything was incredible. The service was great - our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy without being loud. I will definitely return.
Always a great meal and good time. Never disappoints.
The food options were excellent. We tried several dishes and they were off the hook. We were so impressed with how much flavorful food was and the drinks were on point. I loved the fact they specialize in vegetarian dishes, and it shows they know the stuff!
Came here for my boyfriends birthday and it was perfect! Amazing drinks, friendly staff, and i mean seriously awesome staff. Really pretty spot, highly recommend!
Good variety of food. Not too many choices on desserts. Server very responsive.
We were there for a Mother's Day brunch. We heard good things about Alden and Harlow and we're excited to try them out. The place looked nice and they even had a photographer to capture the special day... that was the good. For the bad... we ordered 3 entrees and one appetizer, it took 20 mins for the first dish to arrive, the hamburger (ordered med, came med-rare)... then 6 mins later the 2nd dish came out (Seared Bluefin Crudo that was fine). Another 5 mins past and we tried to flag our waitress (or any wait staff), but couldn't find her (or see anyone else) since we still had two dishes and our waters needed refilling. After another few minutes, I almost decided to get up to get someone, when our waitress happened to pop up at another table. We pointed out that we're still missing two dishes, she commented that she would check the kitchen. She returned to fill our waters and said that it be just a minute for them to come. About 3 mins later she served our appetizer (Brussel Sprouts, meh) and we reminded her that we still had the Steak & Eggs Benedict coming. Seriously, another 6 mins past, the other two entrees now devoured before the 4 thinly sliced steak & eggs benedict arrived. As she placed the entre down, she commented that the steaks are the hardest to cook and took the longest... OMG, please DON'T BS us.... just tell us the truth. We're fine if there was a mistake or error, things happen, BUT don't lie! Those four pieces of steak were sliced thinner than sashimi. We calculated that it took 45 mins for us to get our last entre from order to arrival and not only did it took so long, but the rest of the dishes were served ONE AT A TIME spaced 5-8 minutes apart There was another party (3 + toddler) that were seated across from us about 10 mins after we were seated... They got their meals ALL at the same time BEFORE we got are 3rd dish (appetizer) and left before we got our bill... we had to flag the waitress to get our check. It was like she was avoiding us.
Amazing food - the flavor combinations were unusual and perfecto! Great service, very friendly staff and while it was a bit expensive, spot on for a celebration!
Food was OUTSTANDING! Service was slow, which was disappointing. Every table around us seemed to be wondering where their food was. It would've been nice for the server to check in more often, taking orders when we were ready to make them, letting us know why things were taking so long, etc. But we would go back: this was probably the best meal we had during our stay in Boston!
Atmosphere was cool, but very dish we ordered was extremely salty.
