Have been going there since it opened. Consistently one of the best restaurants in Boston. Innovative menu and amazing service.
This was our second time there. The first time the service was outstanding but what we had wasnt anything to keep me coming back. This time service was insanely slow but rather than do entrees we shared a bunch of plates between the three of us and walked away so happy. Every dish we had was great! Highly recommend doing it this way! What we had:
1. LA QUERCIA PROSCIUTTO
2. CHARRED HAAS AVOCADO
2. SPANISH OCTOPUS
3. SWEET + SPICY CAULIFLOWER
4. NEW ENGLAND BEEF CARPACCIO
5.JONAH CRAB HASH BROWN
6.FRIED GREEN TOMATOES
I am now a convert and cant wait to go back as its a short walk from where we live!
I had some worthy of going back nibbles at the bar. I loved the fried squash and sweet and spicy cauliflower. Will be ordering that again. The hostess was great, the woman bartender was great, the man bartender was weird and had no effect, which is weird for a bartender. He brought down my rating, but otherwise, this is a great place. WIll go again. Look forward to going again and trying additional menu items. PS Already told many of my friends!
Loved having brunch at Alcove! The grilled cheese and charred avocado were literally unbelievable. Service was great, best bloody mary mix I have ever enjoyed! The hay straws were a nice touch, but difficult to use with a bloody mary, I still drank it all thoroughly however! Thanks Alcove, can't wait to come back and try dinner!
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant! We'll be back!
Fun atmosphere and good service, but no dish was quite as good as its description. Sweet and spicy cauliflower was twice as saucy and half as crispy as I'd like; beef capacio was too salty (and I like a lot of salt; too little protein in the octopus and lobster salad; etc.
Attractive restaurant , interesting menu, tasty food and nice service, but very noisy and difficult to carry on a comfortable conversation. Bottom line: I enjoyed the Alcove and I would return, but only with one person who could sit close to me - not with more than one person as it would be pretty impossible to hear them talk.
I had a wonderful experience at Alcove. Our waiter was amazing! Very friendly and personable. He also provided great recommendations on how much to order. The food was delicious and definitely reasonably priced. My friends and I sat outside on a beautiful night with a beautiful view! Definitely going back to Alcove!
One of the best meals I've had in awhile. The Berkshire Pork Chop was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, helpful, and prompt.
Amazing - this place is for foodies. The oysters were fantastic. Peach gazpacho- yum. Charcuterie tray high quality and generous, pickle tray so tasty, then the bone marrow- OMG. Cocktails are creative and right on Warf between two bridges. Service was exceptional- and best of all - great value.
Great food and awesome view!
Great food, very nice restaurant, service was excellent as well. We ordered a lot of things that were fried but they were super good and not heavy
Hidden gem in the city!
Loved the view from this attractive restaurant. Our waiter was lovely and didn't seem to mind that we ordered 6-7 small plates instead of a few meals in order to try whatever sounded delicious! The food was really very good. We didn't try dessert, but will when we visit again next time!
Nice place in north station, the food was great and the cocktails even more. i sat in the outdoor patio to be more relax in a quiet atmosphere.
Amazing! New favorite spot in the city!!
The service was stellar, the menu innovative and my daughter thinks this might be the best restaurant she’s been to. We will definitely head back when in town.
Very nice. Can’t be In a rush though because the food seems to take awhile to come out.
The service was not up to snuff. We sat outside, which was awesome. Solid food/location/feel. I heard the service gets worse the further you move from the bar. Our experience affirmed that notion. That being said, will definitely go back and will try to sit at the bar!
Amazing, every mast detail! Loved the squash, beef carpaccio and salmon. Brownie sundae to die for!
Great view right next to the TD Garden on the water ... very good service with some great plates to share.
Had a great time before Khalid concert ! Awesome place for something nice before any TD garden event
This restaurant is easily the best one I've ever dined at. I have been here four times and every time, the service, food and ambience is grade A+. I dined here on August 10th, 2019 at 5pm and we ended up sitting in the lounge area instead of a table because it was so inviting and the lead bartender (Chris? He had red hair and a beard) was super friendly and welcoming.
The cocktails are delicious and I've tried a different one every time. The food is phenomenal and again, I've gotten something different every time. It is a great place to share food easily and they are always prepared. I had a server once (Claire) who was one of the nicest people and so sweet and on top of everything.
I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. I worked as as server and in restaurants since I was 15 (I am now 22) so I absolutely appreciate the level of excellence and elevated service that this restaurant accurately and efficiently executes. I am blown away every time I dine here. Please go here!
The food was average, but that could not improve upon the poor service. It was as though our very presence was an annoyance for the staff. Do yourself, and the staff, a favor and don’t bother going.
Very nice terrace. Service was quite slow. Food is good but does not meet expectations from the menu.
Oysters were very good! A bit disappointed by the 'formaggio melt' which is actually a grilled cheese... The beef carpaccio was good but really too salty. Burger was good.
Desserts are original, not too sweet, well balanced.
Wine selection is good!
We had two waiters who kept coming to us separately and asking the same questions minutes apart. One would ask if we were ready to order then we’d say no and another came less than 30 seconds later and asked the same. This continued through dinner. On top of that there were 4 other people who came to clear plates and fill waters and bring the food etc. there was never a min alone to enjoy. The food was over cooked. They said I’d get zucchini over summer squash and then put corn in my meal. The burger was over cooked. Well done instead of medium like was ordered. The waitress asked if I wanted another glass of wine and came back and filled my still 1/3 full glass instead of giving me a new full glass. I pointed it out and she filled my glass more instead of apologizing... Overall very bad experience and wouldn’t return.
Great food, but not cheap! Would be good if staff could recommend dishes with a bit more thought into what you could pair together!
Overall everything was tasty though!
Excellent food and great location. You can
Watch the traffic on the Zakim and know when it good to go home.
As always, we had a wonderful evening at Alcove. Lovely meal (just disappointed that the kitchen didn’t have any mashed potatoes that evening and that the Rigatoni was no longer on the shared plates menu (but admittedly, this is a dish more suited to colder weather - hope it’s back on the menu come fall...)). We enjoyed the service, the ambiance and the food - a lovely evening overall.
Requested a window or outside table with reservation. Mostly empty Mon night. Seated near kitchen in back. Came for Charred Avocado, but recipe had changed. Not as good. Still will come again. Just not a 5 rating anymore.
The cocktail and wine selection were great! The food, however, less great. We ordered the Spanish octopus with yukon potatoes and it came fried, which I've never witnessed before. The potatoes were undercooked and difficult to cut into. The half roast chicken was actually very delicious, however I did feel ill the next day, as did my friend who had the salmon. Could have been something else, but we both felt terrible the next day after sharing a meal together.
This is perfect for a first date or night out with friends. The menu is not expansive but the food was delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely go again.
We had an outstanding dinner at Alcove! Highly recommend the fried oysters and the charred avocado! Delish - we will be sure to be back soon!
We were lucky to snag an outside table even though indoors was the cooler place to be. It was far too noisy to be able to enjoy one another's company. Food was very good, but portions are very small. It does allow one to try many dishes.
Food and service were excellent as always!
This place is amazing! It’s my go to spot for dinner with friends. Great place to share some plates and also try some new entrees. The menu is made of local produce so it always rotating with the season. Highly recommend. They also have a great patio and right next to the ferry to the seaport.
Our first time at Alcove. A funky, new Boston waterfront neighborhood. We enjoyed all the food--great variety of tastes. Our server was very nice, thoughtful, and did not rush us at all. We had a pleasant conversation with her while waiting for our group to assemble.
The noise level in the space was a bit loud, but it didn't deter us from conversation.
My only comment is about the wine list. I found it difficult to navigate due to the names they chose for each section. And, the fine print was truly too fine--coulld be a bit more generous with the font size in the future.
Overall a pleasant dining experience we would enjoy again!
The halibut was delicious! Will definitely be coming back.
Great restaurant. Food, ambiance, people and views
Waaay too loud... but the food was outstanding-really, really good, and the service was nice. However, the noise level made it very difficult to have a comfortable conversation.
