Great experience, never disappoints. The chicken, duck, house salad, shishito peppers, sorbet, teas and S. African wine were all superb.

Food was excellent.

Service (for such a nice restaurant) not good. Although they were very attentive (we had 3-4 people checking in ALL the time), it was too much. I hate when waiters are constantly interrupting your conversation to check if you need anything or to reach across the table and top up a water glass unnecessarily. I much prefer when they know to just make themselves available if you need them.

Worst part was when the server was clearing the table after my husband was finished eating, picking up every little thing that could be cleared while I was still finishing my meal - so disruptive. She also asked us what we wanted for dessert (while I was still eating my main dish) - I really don't like when servers do this. There is nothing that makes you feel more rushed. I also don't know if I want / have room for dessert until I finish my main dish. Ideally servers don't clear the table until EVERYONE is finished eating. I don't know why that's not common sense.

Food was excellent though. Very interesting and delicious veggie options.

My first time and was worth the wait, everything was great, food delicious, staff friendly and so knowledgeable. Can't wait to return sooner than later and especially this coming Summer as their outdoor space is amazing.

Great food, great atmosphere. While the whole menu was available, their Valentine's Day specials were absolutely delicious!

I cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant and our dining experience overall. I brought my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day and everything was phenomenal. The lighting was incredible, the food was scrumptious, and the service was beyond accommodating. Would absolutely go back for any of the items on the menu, but especially the Rohan duck!

Food was average at best... $47 for a awful cut of steak that was seasoned very well and cooked perfect... just a very bad tough fatty cut! Mac and cheese side is $9 and was a bowl of flour and sticky starch! The burger and fries were good... great location... $11 for a canned hard cider! Considering all your options in this area, this place is overpriced and just not worth it!

Very good small plates. Excellent bar. Top notch Negroni. Wines by the glass were not exciting, but good choices for sherry and wine half-bottles. Got quite louder after 6:15

This is a great space and a very good location, but ultimately the quality of the food is what will get people to come back. That needs to improve.

Good spot for before or after Bruins or Celtics games. Goo quality food if you’re looking for more than fried food and burgers. Good cocktails and beer and wine choices.

The ambience of the restaurant was really nice, and the food was delicious. That being said, the place was extremely loud and the service was sub par for the price I was paying. We were hoping to order more drinks, but the waiter didn't stop by at any point during our meal, so we didn't end up being able to order more. He only came back when we were done eating and at that point we had been waiting so long that we didn't want to bother. I was hoping for a better experience because I've heard great things, but it seems like it might have just been our server who wasn't as attentive as the others. I would probably go back to try more of the food and drinks and hope to get a better server!

Great pre-game dinner. Quick service gets you out on time. Noisy though. Location right on the wharf will bring me back in the nicer weather for the outside tables and the view.

Very nice dinner! We went pre-Celtics game for a nice meal. We got there a little too early (before 5) sat at the bar for a bit - had a nice selection of appetizers they could serve plus cocktails. Staff were very friendly and atmosphere was enjoyable. It is early in the year but you can see the view will be very nice in the warmer weather. The Chef has designed an interesting menu - has nice selections of Salmon or chicken - but they also have interesting pairings and side dishes like Parsnips (I recommend them they were delish)

We gave this restaurant four chances because it is very close to our home, and it has failed to impress, consistently.

We made a reservation and were sat in the service area of the bar. I had made a note that a bar seat would be fine, but sitting with 1/3 of my counter space filled by finishing garnishes was really horrible. Not only did multiple staff reach in front of me to grab the garnish sprays and such, but I constantly smelled the olives and cocktail smells, which negatively impacted the enjoyment of my own beverage and our oysters.

Chicken, steak, burger, small plates - everything we've tried is creative, delicious and expertly prepared. And the bartenders - superb professionals all - will politely offer sensible suggestions on hair, clothing and lifestyle modifications, but only if asked.

I judge a restaurant on how they make chicken as its the easiest item to make and one that I can make at home with great skill. Alcove however has MASTERED that skill! They serve the Best chicken in the city and it's the item that I go there for. However, all of their food is outstanding!!!

Alcove is a welcoming place with very creative fresh inventive food and exquisite service in a beautiful space. That would be enough BUT it is also sits in full view of the Zakim and Charlestown bridges with lively waterside activity including the Water Taxi at Lovejoy Wharf. You can enjoy all that complexity from outside in warmer weather but you can watch the show in comfort in winter. Excellent!

I have been here for dinner and it was amazing but brunch was a totally different experience. Largely due to one waitress who was obviously having a bad day but it ruined the meal. She never brought our drinks, and had to be reminded several times. Also she spilled milk for tea all over the table and never came to wipe it up as it was dripping onto our bags! Unbelievable! She also just had a bad attitude. I also think it gets confusing to have so many people waiting on one table , other people kept coming over. I wouldn’t go back. Food great but not worth the horrible service from this woman.

Had a wonderful time at Alcove for my birthday meal. First of all the service was outstanding. Our waiter Erik was wonderful and attentive, and when there was an issue with leaving a tip (while using a gift card) he essentially refused to let us go get cash from an ATM/bring him back money, and almost wouldn't tell me his name as he didn't want to us to go to great lengths to provide his adequate tip. As far as the food - oysters and octopus were outstanding! The charcuiterie plate was amazing in terms of the meat/flavors it had, but would have benefited from more pickled vegetables for acid, and some sort of bread/cracker/starch to eat the meat with. Cocktails were also creative, tasty, strong and not too sweet - delicious. Would definitely come back.

Super friendly staff, from the welcome at the door to the servers, Knowledgeable and passionate about food and drink as well. Lively ambiance: noise level made convo at our table of 4 almost impossible even tho we were seated at the far end of the room, away from the bar area. Great for pre-game drinks/ dinner (near the TDNorth Garden).

Food was fantastic, and you don’t feel like you’re over-paying for it (in portion size and in quality). Everything came out perfectly seasoned and at a comfortable eating pace for a laidback lunch. Each dish felt unique and fresh without being a hodgepodge menu selection. Servers were friendly and attentive to our table’s needs, while maintaining space. Highly recommend trying any of the bar’s well constructed cocktails, and for food definitely the chef’s selection of house pickles (even a sworn pickle hater at our table couldn’t help but reach for more), and if you’re there for brunch the house pastries are a must.
