I made my reservation many months ago and requested a waterside table and a larger table since the tables for 2 are extremely small. I was not even close to the water view, couldn’t see it at all, and the table was so small that our plates wouldn’t fit on the table without letting the server take our salads and bread plates.
The waiter was serving some larger parties next to us and received most of his attention. He would stand between the table next to mine and the larger party and leave not checking to see if we needed anything or if everything was okay.
We would have stayed for desert but we had Bruins tickets and at the pace of the waiter we agreed we’d get it somewhere else after the game.
I use Open Table quite often and have been extremely impressed with the accommodations, but this restaurant was a huge disappointment and we will not return.

My husband and I ate at Alcove before a Celtics game. The view and ambiance were beautiful, and service was attentive. My husband thought the brioche bun on his burger was dense and kind of dry, and my salmon meal could have been a little more filling but it tasted great. Overall, food was very good and so was my cocktail, would definitely come again!

Not only is this place great, but the bar staff did my taxes for me while I drank Mojitos. I will be spending me king-sized refund on an endowment to fund perpetual Shishito peppers for deserving millenials in the West End!

Phenomenal all around! The service was outstanding, even the owner was frequenting the tables and chatting. The food was fresh, different and exciting, made it very difficult to not order everything on the menu. Cannot wait to return.

Our server understood why we didn't eat the dessert - way too smoky s'mores cream puff and took the cost off our bill. Small amount, but big gesture.

We would have like the music to have been turned down a bit - it's hard to carry on a conversation.

Apart from that, it was good and I do plan on coming back.

The place looks lovely, lots of daylight in a pretty location. But what I didn´t like is that at 1pm they only had a brunch menu (which wasn't very diverse either), when online you can see lots of pictures of all kinds of food but the choice was VERY limited. No regular lunch options. Also, the reservation times were pretty limited but then there were lots of empty tables all afternoon.

Service was horrible. But everything else will make us go back! Server seemed to be intoxicated and just simply care free about everything, including order accuracy. The overall fluidity of the restaurant worked well though. Food was superb and beautiful. The ambiance was so chic and modern, while hanging on to some class. Recommend going as long as you don’t have the server we did!

Very pretty restaurant and the food was yummy! Parking can be an issue so it won’t be somewhere I frequent often but I would go back if is easier in the area. No kids menu but they were willing to make a few things in smaller portions for my daughter which was nice

The front end people are the nicest in the world, even with the needy Millenials who swamp the place after work!!

The bar staff are professional and attentive and not pushy. They also speak several languages and can perform acapella standards with surprising competence!!

Food seemed a bit to over the top. Sometimes the simple ideas bring out the best flavors. I also was quite dissapointed with the pork belly poached eggs, way to much qunioa and not enough pork belly.

Food was excellent.

Service (for such a nice restaurant) not good. Although they were very attentive (we had 3-4 people checking in ALL the time), it was too much. I hate when waiters are constantly interrupting your conversation to check if you need anything or to reach across the table and top up a water glass unnecessarily. I much prefer when they know to just make themselves available if you need them.

Worst part was when the server was clearing the table after my husband was finished eating, picking up every little thing that could be cleared while I was still finishing my meal - so disruptive. She also asked us what we wanted for dessert (while I was still eating my main dish) - I really don't like when servers do this. There is nothing that makes you feel more rushed. I also don't know if I want / have room for dessert until I finish my main dish. Ideally servers don't clear the table until EVERYONE is finished eating. I don't know why that's not common sense.

Food was excellent though. Very interesting and delicious veggie options.

We stopped by Alcove before going to a concert . My husband ordered the burger and I ordered the sweet and spicy cauliflower and farro risotto, My husband enjoyed his burger but we both found the cauliflower to be overcooked and over spiced. The farro was also a disappointment. As a vegetarian I was happy to see it on the menu but I was disappointed once it was delivered. It tasted oily and heavy. We’ll be back for drinks and the view-restaurant looks up at the Zakim bridge but maybe not the food.

I cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant and our dining experience overall. I brought my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day and everything was phenomenal. The lighting was incredible, the food was scrumptious, and the service was beyond accommodating. Would absolutely go back for any of the items on the menu, but especially the Rohan duck!

Food was average at best... $47 for a awful cut of steak that was seasoned very well and cooked perfect... just a very bad tough fatty cut! Mac and cheese side is $9 and was a bowl of flour and sticky starch! The burger and fries were good... great location... $11 for a canned hard cider! Considering all your options in this area, this place is overpriced and just not worth it!

Very good small plates. Excellent bar. Top notch Negroni. Wines by the glass were not exciting, but good choices for sherry and wine half-bottles. Got quite louder after 6:15
