Service was extremely slow. We were never checked on after the appetizer were delivered to the table. Therefore we never were able to order an entree.
We love the place. Food and service exceptional as always, and when you walk out, you feeler cooler than you did when you walked in. Bonus: Art on the C3Lab walls is outstanding.
By far the best new place in the CLT to dine. Great staff and the chef is amazing!
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and its presentation is sheer art. Cool atmosphere! Of course, it helps that you walk through an art gallery to get to the dining room. Wonderful place to take friends & family.
great place for a date or just dinner, good options for vegetarians.
Food and beverages were tasty but service was mediocre at best. Of the 7 meals served, three of those served had to be returned to the kitchen as they were either not served as ordered or were simply wrong. Additionally one mimosa and one salad had gnats in/on them. When the salad was returned to the table, they had not put the chicken on it and diner had nearly finished the greens before the chicken came from the kitchen.
No apologies made no adjustments offered.
Great experience and ambience. Our reservation was booked for ten. Unfortunately, it rained so we weren’t sure if most folks were coming as we were a few minutes past our reservation time. We were seated for four because that’s all we had confirmed but had three more show up. The hostess was very accommodating even when the 3 extra arrivals showed up 30-45 mins later. It was the first meetup for our group so our late arrivals felt bad for showing up past our reservation time. Next time, I’ll list it 15 mins earlier and make the reservation 15 mins later. 😉
Great options for all dietary restrictions. I follow a vegan diet and everything I ate was delightful.
First time coming here and all of the food was incredible. Their selection of cocktails was great too! You’re able to walk around and look at the art that is for sale with your cocktail or drink or choice. We had a great time and will be back. Highly recommend!
Really neat space. The cocktail list was fun and unique. The food was pretty good and worth the price. The location was nice and the fact that there is an art gallery attached is something different and fun. Great place, will come back.
What an exciting place to eat. There is a terrific display of art that willbe up through July by some of the most well-known artists in Charlotte, including Marvin Espy, Tony Griffin, Felicia can Bork, Miriam Durkin, Eva Crawford, Dylan Chorneau, Katherine Kesey, and Arthur Rogers. I had trout and it was superb, others with me had pasta, Caesar’s salad and a mushroom dish. People were streaming in for dinner and our table knew 5 people who came by to say hi.
Food and atmosphere was fantastic - the Bartender(s) were also very friendly, prompt and informative. I would say the server we got was not "top notch" but was overall rock solid and will 100% be going back / recommend.
Cocktails and small plates were lovely. Mushroom Trip in particular was absolutely spectacular. However, the in house veggie burger is deeply unpleasant in both flavor and texture. I normally prefer house made veggie burgers to mass produced ones, but this one made me wish they had Impossible or Beyond instead.
Service was slow but high-quality. Food and decor are excellent.
Some of the best food I've ever had. The portobello hash was life changing. Sweetest servers too! Get there early if you want the Japanese pancakes - they sell out fast.
The space and the food were wonderful. The service was a little rough, but it seems it was more based on being new and dealing with being so busy out the gate than attitude; they were all very nice. My biggest comment is the outdoor seating is a wasted opportunity. It’s no where near as special as sitting inside... seems forgotten. Since that space doesn’t have a view or some other special attribute it’s even more important they should have made it more a vibe... it’s basic and an afterthought.
The service and food was great. The staff was friendly.
Amazing experience. Chef made a special d and g free dessert for us. First class all around.
It was my birthday and everything was amazing! Love the atmosphere and food was awesome!! Had the “had a hard day” drink…so good I had several (if you like tequila)
Honestly, just bad. You can tell they are hoping for a certain crowd, but I don’t know who.
Coffee served cold, and bitter. Had to ask for cream and sugar. Had to ask for spoon. How do you offer such a catered allergen experience then put down just cream and white sugar? Doesn’t line up, like you don’t care.
Food was just bad. Grape tomato salad features 1.5 grape tomatoes and enough micro greens to smother a rabbit. Flavored heavily with salt and other salt. Micro greens were everywhere. I’m guessing they own a micro green farm and are supplying themselves.
Overall, take a cold vegan egg sandwich to west elm and you get the same experience.
Celebration dinner was perfect! So great to have options for vegan and omnivores! Highly recommend
Became plant-based 2 weeks prior. This place was enlightening and a totally pleasurable experience. Highly recommended even for my non-plant based friends. My wife's scallops looked amazing!
I was excited to finally try this place and they had patio seating. The inside was interesting. We sat on the back patio, which basically overlooks a ditch and the back of condos. The menu did not have a lot of options. We tried the fried artichokes and they were good. We also tried cocktails. They have very complicated cocktails. Both of ours were not very good and were tiny for the price. After the artichokes there really weren’t any other small plates that looked good so we paid and left. It was fine but won’t be hurrying back.
Great service and food
Japanese pancakes are to die for. The menu was vegetarian and vegan friendly as well as had great flavor profiles. Service was fantastic and ambience was very New York.
Absolutely loved the vegetable forward menu!! We shared 4 small plates and had dessert and each dish was delicious! The fried artichokes are a must.
My new favorite! Delicious, seasonal, and outstanding service.
We enjoyed what we ate however we have always found that every time we visit this place, we are told some items on the menu are not available which disappoints us. Maybe they need to figure out their supply chain to ensure items on the menu are actually available.
I love the area this is in and I will definitely be back, although there was a hair in my waffle & I never got one of my mimosas I paid for..
First time dining here. Delicious food, great atmosphere!
Everything at alchemy always make our experience so special
Food and drinks are prepared with love and passion. I mean common! Does it even get better than that!?!?
They set the bar☺️
Our food was good- not amazing but not bad either. They claim to be vegan/vegetarian forward but their first small plate is a beef filet dish. The portion sizes were definitely generous for small plates but we still felt that everything was overly expensive for Charlotte. Everything, including the drinks, was $2 over what it should have been which adds up. Cocktails averaged $13+ and a HALF glass of wine was what I would expect to pay for a full glass elsewhere. This isn't RH rooftop. The ambience doesn't demand those prices. One of the dishes, elote, was meant to be eaten with your hands (which should be warned about upfront). You could feasibly eat it with a knife but they don't provide sharp enough ones. I don't want to be eating anything with my hands at a feasibly "nice" restaurant. And lastly, the service was lacking. The two (2!) hostesses told us they were short staffed up front but there were 3 servers who were also acting as bartenders for 7 tables. I don't think we should have felt as neglected as we did. We sat with empty plates on our table for 10+ minutes and even after we requested the check, the plates were left sitting there. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back. It's a lot of money to spend not to be blown out of the water.
Excellent for a birthday brunch with friends. We sat on the patio which was quiet and serene. All of our food was amazing, as usual.
Brunch with family from out of town
We decided to come to brunch at Alchemy for the Japanese pancakes, as this is the only place we could find in Charlotte that offers them (there may be others, we were just unable to find others). We ordered the pancakes, which were amazing, but also tried a couple of other dishes, the steak and eggs and the Portabello egg in hole. Both dishes were amazing. My kids prefer meat options, and there was definitely something for everyone. I will definitely be going back to try some of the more "exotic" vegan/vegetarian options.
Service was a little slow, our wines were mixed up, but the food was amazing. I would definitely go back again.
We ate at the bar. Josh was the bartender and he was amazing. Great drinks and food recommendations. Locally sourced. Vegan/vegetarian friendly was a big win for my wife.
First time out to restaurant since COVID started.
Really great place but bad timing when I went. The music was strange and loud, the server was awesome but not supported and our food took 45 minutes.
