Food was delicious as always - fantastic pastas and the tripe is so so so good. Oh and don't get me started on the macadamia milk panna cotta!
Service was unfortunately a bit of a let down in our last visit. The entrees came pretty quickly but we had to wait quite a long time between entrees and the pastas, and then the meat dishes (around 15 to 20 mins), so we didn't finish all our mains until almost 8pm. Since our booking was from 6pm-8pm, we were being rushed through dessert and had the bill placed on the table when desserts were served. The waitress was pretty rude about it, despite it being the kitchen's fault for not serving the dishes fast enough! Oh and we spent a good 10 minutes trying to flag her down to process the credit card transaction.
Despite the poor service, everything else was great and I'll definitely be returning :)
Loved the cosy atmosphere. The food was authentic and delicious.
Loved it..delicious pasta and I think the best martini i have ever had. Didnt enjoy the zabablione-perhaps a little too far from the original for me
Too warm in there. But has a good vibe. Could give more space to bigger groups (being a late, table we did end up having another table for us)
Great restaurant! Food, service and atmosphere were brilliant. Would definitely come back.
Fantastic . Genuinely great service and quality food . No issue with portion sizes
Alberto is cool in a way with its fit out and music but had a grungy feel with its carpet and poor waiter staff. I question the training level of the waiter staff and why we had 3 different waiters serve us throughout the night.
The first 2 dishes were nice but we could not finish the saltimbocca as it was finished with a sweet glaze that seamed all wrong.
Overall we felt we should have went somewhere else.
Among the best restaurants we have eaten at-the sensational, lip-smacking food along with the knowledgeable and super efficient staff made for a really great meal experience!
We had a very enjoyable lunch on Saturday. Friendly staff. The food is very good. One comment though - It is very inconvenient the restaurant not having a telephone. We were running late and wished to advise the restaurant but was unable to as there was no telephone. Whilst looking for a number on Google my mobile number had been captured - I ended up getting calls throughout the weekend asking to book a table at Alberto's Lounge! Very frustrating and disappointing. Now trying to get my number off Google site as the contact for Alberto's Lounge.
Best Italian in the country.
From every angle.
Food. Booze. Service. Fit out.
The service was impeccable, atmosphere outstanding and most of the food excellent. The pasta was perfectly cooked, but there was no need for so much sauce - the crab texture and flavour was lost in the white wine sauce. Otherwise highly recommended.
Amazing gelato. Friendly staff and very helpful. Delicious food. Expensive but a great treat
Great place to eat very nice food and drinks professional stafg
Amazing food, great night out. Service was fantastic.
Trying something new
Great fit out and hideaway location, very secret Sydney. Staff were welcoming but not over friendly or familiar. Food, sadly, was a bit hit and miss in our opinion. Small plates were delicious, bigger plates the flavours were balanced but we the fish over cooked and the Bolognese meat was powdery. We had the Tiramisu, again lovely flavours but the marscapone was frozen, which we found didn’t work with the other elements. Big suprise was a very palatable espresso.
Outstanding in every way. Wonderful ambiance, awesome food and a wine list to due for. Don’t tell too many people about this gem....
Great authentic Italian in a relaxed vibe with enthusiastic professional staff and good wine list
The food was very satisfying, moorish and comforting.
Ambience, atmosphere hit the spot.
Service as good as you can expect these days, not adequate but sufficient.
New fave spot
Can’t wait to come again
One of the best dinners I’ve ever had! Still fantasising about each and every dish
Excellent night! My wife said it was one of her favourite meals ever.
Would strongly recommend.
Everything was exceptional!
Highly recommend Alberto's Lounge! Great vibe and intimate with delicious pastas and a wide range of wines to choose from.
Beautiful food and fantastic service from Sean for our biannual girl's lunch. Sean managed to recommend a wine to a disparate group of women - some of whom don't drink wine - that made us all very happy until we got kicked out.. I mean, it was time for us to leave him in peace.
Thanks for a wonderful dining experience, Alberto's is now on my fave restaurant list.
Great atmosphere, food and service. Highly recommended.
Great food - table a bit squashed for 5 of us - but obviously packed and popular restaurant - great ambience rerminds us of restaurant in Europe ! good for winter as a cosy feel and smart cute service !
I know it’s winter, but the room was seriously hot. Staff should be aware of who orders what when serving. Main portions were quite small. Food was good.
A wonderful evening with everything just perfect
A quick dinner before a movie at the Golden Age Cinema. Food was fabulous - excellent flavours, good choices on the menu, extensive wine list and the bread was great. Excellent service, very flexible (literally and figuratively, as the space is small) - friendly and helpful staff.
Can’t wait to make another booking!!!
Great waiter/ great manager/ great Somm tahts about it thanks guys
Amazing experience plus beautiful food. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves food and a groovey atmosphere.
I never write reviews but Alberto’s is 110% worth it.
Absolutely stunning food .. professional service and perfect negroni.
great value to be found in the wine list. food prices creep up on you v the portion sizes. service was a little hit and miss. flashes of brilliance, and flashes of inattentiveness. wouldn't deter me from going again though.
Lovely food. Waiter Sean was very knowledgeable with wine and food selections.
Tone down your expectations when dining at Alberto's: this is an osteria pretending to be a ristorante.
The place looked great: small, slightly hidden entrance takes you through a cinema-like corridor / waiting area to the dining lounge, including italo-cinema posters and a small bar to have your drink while you wait. The lighting was great, as was the art-deco like design of the place. They managed to create a good feeling of coziness. Unfortunately, the coziness of the place gets drawn out quite literally by the very loud music.
Food-wise, I went for some antipasti, pasti & deserts. The olive oil, burrata and olives were of great quality! The pastas, however, did not manage to convince. The mushroom gnocchi were not bad in consistency, but a single flavour dominated the dish: porcini. The pork sausage rigatoni were a bit bland, lacking in complementing flavouring. Both portions were small for the price paid, given their average quality.
Our desert consisted of a French cheese and a "tiramisu". The cheese was noticeable cheap, but probably good by Australian standards. I expected the cheese to be served with bread, but I was not disappointed with the home-made sea-salt-encrusted crackers that it came with. They were interesting and went well with the cheese.
Then there was the "tiramisu". I hope there were no Italians working in this establishment, because I fear their brothers and sisters would surely revoke their nationality after trying the tiramisu à la Alberto: vanilla ice cream sprinkled with Milo powder. I dug around hoping to find any base, but couldn't find more than a spoon full.
Service was okay, depending on the waiter. We had an older waiter who served us great. His younger counterpart, unfortunately, was too preoccupied prancing around with his golden chains and chatting with his mates, so our wine came after our antipasta and we never got our limoncellos.
Overall verdict: an okay dining experience, but definitely not worth the money.
Amazing atmosphere (don't go if you are claustrophobic). Food was reasonably priced and deliciously memorable. Service was attentive despite the restaurant being very busy and at capacity. Music was loud, energetic, made you feel like part of the scene. At one point a Boney M song came on and the whole restaurant sung along to it. Can't wait to go back.
There is nothing not to love about Alberto's. The space is cosy and beautiful. The atmosphere and ambience is spot on. The food and wine is divine. The service is very professional but still friendly.
Amazing fresh homemade pastas and fantastic service ! Dessert menu also great!
Delicious food and the service was attentive and staff friendly. Only slight downside was it was rather noisy and it was hard to carry conversations in this cozy place. But would go again!
