Once one of Melbourne’s first ever banks, Albert and Sydney is now a smart, yet relaxed cocktail and wine bar and becoming a popular function venue in Melbourne.

A nod to its name, located on the corner of Albert St and Sydney Rd in Brunswick, Albert and Sydney is perfect for after work drinks, a night out or for larger milestone celebrations and has a regular line up of DJ’s from some of Melbourne’s most talented artists. Formally Albert St Food & Wine, you can still count on the excellent food we’re renewed for except in a sharing style. Our menu is designed to be shared with friends and colleagues, from snacks, to share platters, chef specials to larger format style dishes.

We went a not so busy time, so lacked some ambience and waitstaff were a bit vague on service (sorry, true) but very pleasant! Food was nice, a bit cold though. We did go expecting a more upmarket experience... not sure if the restaurant changed hands recently and we perhaps didn't realise. Overall a nice exp, but a warmer environment could of made it much better.

We eagerly returned to Albert and Sydney haven't been here in a while unfortunately were greatly disappointed. On arrival we were sat down and quickly ordered some starters before diving into the drinks and mains menu. The starters we got our starters which weren't as good as the menu described but we dealt with it. Unfortunately when the starter plates were put down the waitstaff promised to come back and take either a drink order/main order and took 40 minutes to come back. The staff were more into the Music bingo which was on, and while it was great customer friendly fun on a Friday night customer experience is still important not staff involvement in the entertainment. My partner even had to go to the bar to ask for a napkin because staff were nonexistent. It was at that point that we just wanted our mains and wanted to get out of the venue. The mains were a mere memory of what they used to be at the venue, now, overpriced and underwhelming.

An amazing experience that was completely unexpected from a Google search! Amazing food. Service was exceptional and we ordered every recommendation without disappointment. Will be back for sure!

Live locally and took USA visitors to the Schnitzel Special and Happy Hour. All five of us were well fed ...some having the Schitzel Special. The wait staff (especially the new girl from Vancouver ) were friendly and attentive. The guest having the express martini ended up giving a few of us a taste. Loved it.

Had a fabulous Mothers day dinner at Albert / Sydney - love the vibe, the staff and the atmosphere - one of my favourites venues at this time!!!
