   We did the smaller tasting of 3 wines. There was a great Chardonnay, a superior Sparkling Rose’, and a very good Pinot Noir. Paired with the charcuterie, a most enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

   This review is for our wine tasting, not food tasting. Albatross does offer a couple of food options to accompany your wine should you choose. We were warmly greeted at the door, and happened to be the only visitors that afternoon. Our wine host was warm, friendly, funny, and he educated us about the differences of Albatross. Their philosophy, way of harvesting, and "don't-mess-with-the-grapes-much-if-any" way of wine making are unique to the industry. The back patio area is gorgeous, and we sat outside where it was clean and quiet. My husband and I elected to split a library tasting, and the pours were very generous. We headed home with two bottles, and will make Albatross a frequent wine tasting destination.

   Came to take my partners grandparents here. I specifically booked the cottage to sit out on their patio but it was occupied by what we were informed was a wedding? Either way we got sat at a high top table with elderly grandparents who struggled to get comfortable next to boxes… it was not what I had hoped for. The gentleman leading our tasting didn’t seem knowledgeable about the product and it was honestly quite a boring experience. Pretty embarrassing considering this is not what is shown on website. We drove 20 mins out of the way to go there versus their tasting room closer into town but it was honestly not worth it.

    Great Ambassador, Kylie is amazing and extremely accommodating, knowledgeable and humble. Wines were okay, kind of uneven in quality. some very, very good others not so much. We loved the 2018 Beton Chardonnay, the 2020 still Rose, the 2017 reserve Pinot and the 2018 Owen Pinot Noir. The 2020 Pet Nat is fun because of its' smoky nature due to fire exposure, I can see it with BBQ. Other Pinots need time in the bottle to fully express. Fun experience.

    We've visited once before and love the wines—so we were excited to return, however we received a seemingly new tasting room host this most recent visit who clearly has never worked in the service industry. He kept picking up our wine glasses off the table to pour or would rest the opening of the wine bottle to the edge of our glass to pour. That may not seem like a big deal, but during Covid it made us feel pretty uncomfortable. He also would pour the wine and then walk away—sometimes not even telling us what we were having and then didn't smell/taste a corked Pinot before serving it to us in our flight, which is tasting room 101. If it was his first day there, that's fine—then just tell your guests instead of winging it, only to leave your guests feeling disappointed by the experience.

    This is our first time at Albatross Ridge Tasting Cottage. The tasting room in Carmel by the Sea is one of our favorites. So happy to see it open in Carmel Valley so that we could do some wine tasting after hiking at Garland Ranch. Lovely patio that had a very relaxed feel to it on a Friday afternoon. Fantastic wines. My husband and I each did a different tasting so that we could try all the wines. The server and I apologize that I can't remember his name was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and poured the wines in the perfect order for us to taste. The two chardonnays were very different, but we loved both! The estate Chardonnay was probably the most interesting Chardonnay we've had. The two Rose were again very different. Both good, but like one better than the other. The Pinots were all very yummy and we enjoyed the vertical tasting of the 2017 and 2018 Estate Pinot. We ended up leaving with 8 bottles, 3 of the estate Chardonnay, 2 of the other, a Rose and two of the 2018 Pinot. We are looking forward to enjoying these over the next year. Can't wait to come back.

    Have been a fan of Albatross Ridge for several years. The new Tasting Cottage in Carmel and Valley is lovely; obviously, the same designer as the very swank Tasting Room in Carmel by the Sea. Even more adorable than the Cottage, however, was Nicole -- wanted to adopt her!

    I can’t say enough great things about Albatross’ wines and the people that work there. The outdoor ambiance is amazing and they have a way of transporting you to another level of happiness. Their flight options are fantastic and their cheese and charcuterie boards are on point!! My absolute go-to whether friends and family are visiting or just need a quick getaway.

    We had a server Juan Carlo I believe who was super friendly and really made our tasting experience more enjoyable. The backyard is very cute with picnic tables. We ordered snacks with wine and everything was really yummy! Will definitely come back!

    The man that was serving us that night was so incredibly knowledgeable and kind! I can't recall his name, but he was a pleasure to be served by. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be stopping by for another bottle!

    No appetizer pairing with the wine was available due to Covid so I could only rate one star. Beyond that, this was their first weekend open after the SIp was recalled. Awesome staff, awesome wines. I will recommend them to any of my friends. Straight up Great Service, atmosphere, etc

    We had a 5:30 reservation and the table we chose to sit at had leftover wine glasses and water glasses. Our waiter seated us without cleaning the table and sanitizing before we sat. He poured us our first flight and then removed the leftover glasses from the previous patrons. We were never offered water. For $25 a tasting, I felt like the price was not worth the experience.

    I wasn’t sure how to rate our experience because they were not open, we had a reservation but there was no one at the tasting room. I tried to call ahead of time but there was no way to speak to a real person. Disappointed since we drove 15 minutes but we ended up at Boekenoogen which was very good.

    This restaurant is relevantly new to the Carmel scene and I think that is why it had so much availability for resos during our stay. It turned out to be so good for brunch, we came here twice!

    Very excited to visit the tasting cottage for the first time. The wines were outstanding, as always, and AR keeps adding additional wines to their selection that are great. The setting is great, and can't wait until everything can be opened up and things get back to normal! Thank you, Jon Karlo, for another outstanding tasting!
