The food and atmosphere is great here, such a delightful dining experience!
Lovely ambience, spacious outdoor seating, phenomenal food and presentation, and wonderful and attentive service. My party of 7 was here for Sunday brunch—we will be back!
Great atmosphere. Great food and amazing drinks. Wonderful service. Highly recommend going here for dinner and drinks!!
Excellent service, delicious food prepared with finesse.
Another great experience. This time brunch. Loved the peach & tomato salad, chicken & waffles and chilaquiles. Oh, and the Bloody Mary! Server was friendly and recommended the chicken & waffles. The owner was seating guests. We will be back.
excellent service and delicious chicken n waffles!
We don't come here enough - Albatross has a lot going for it, a solid menu which includes both entrees and tapas, as well as appetizers, a good drink selection. You'll pay more for less interesting food elsewhere, for sure. All-in-all, it's a fair value for the portion sizes, quality, and especially for the interesting twists and surprises you can expect in most of the items that you might order here.
Also, wide variety of gluten free options, clearly marked, was unexpected and a real plus, if that's your thing.
Delicious menu choices in a lively atmosphere. My companion and I ordered oysters, corn chowder, peach and tomato salad to start and enjoyed every slurp & bite :)
We were torn between a main plate each or sharing "smaller" plates, so we ordered four small plates including the halibut ceviche, mussels, short rib and lettuce cups. The plates did not disappoint and were more than enough for us both to skip dessert.
The service was superb; our server was the most charming, engaging, and helpful soul <3
I did notice that the support staff seemed perplexed about placing plates, i.e., they did not think about removing items no longer needed at the table and were a bit timid about moving tings to make more room.
All in all, this is a lovely restaurant that I cannot wait to come back to try more yummy dishes!!
We had the shrimp and grits, steak sandwich, BLAT and side salad. All were generous portions and excellent fresh ingredients. Attentive server, great experience!
I love this place. The pork chop and oysters are dynamite. I didn’t realize the owner was there because she looked so young. She was super sweet and She’s doing a great job running the place, even being short staffed.
The service was a little slow. Food took a while to come out but everything was delicious.
This was my second visit. Menu is okay and pricey. Post pandemic it seems to be par for the course to have less than optimal service level. Our waitress was sweet and apologized for delay. But the amount of time to get food was in excess of an hour and it wasn’t necessarily worth the wait. I will not return.
Wonderful service and wait staff…loved the menu choices. Everyone enjoyed their meal
Everything was great - food, service and ambiance.
First time at Albatross and we had a great experience. I wish I could remember our waiter’s name, he was extremely helpful and friendly. Food was great and so was the ambiance. Even though I never mentioned my friend’s birthday, our waiter noticed it was her birthday and brought her ice cream and a candle. It was a very nice touch to end our meal. Will definitely be back.
The service was excellent but the food quality was poor. Both our dishes lacked seasoning, and were not prepared correctly. Expected much more for this price point and in Danville. Would not go here again.
The Duroc pork chop was divine.
The halibut was just OK.
Aour meals were delicious and the service was great/ We ate outside and it was lovely
Wow. Excellent food, great service, nice atmosphere. The fried kalettes starter was maybe the best kale I've ever had, and I eat a lot of kale. My partner and I brought both sets of our parents here, and it was quiet enough for good conversation, even with a birthday party at the table next to us. Impressive!
Always a great time. Excellent food. Staff goes out of their way to make an enjoyable experience
We had dinner at the bar and received outstanding service. I believe the bartenders name was Todd.
Food was good but the service was very slow, and they kept forgetting or messing up our brunch order.
We a a very patient and helpful waitress, she helped guide us on drink and food choices, since we were indecisive! The food was delicious, and it was very pretty inside the restaurant, with great decor. Our waitress was explaining to us how the menu changes often, which we thought was great! We will definitely be back!
Everyone loved their dishes but the star of the table was the green goddess gazpacho. A beautiful soup both in taste and looks. Staff was helpful in getting us situated on the patio, getting us covered by umbrellas on the 100+ degree day. Will return to Albatross soon!
Great ambiance inside and outside. We sat on the patio which was lovely. Food tasted great. My daughter and I shared the steak and eggs and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Server and hostess were both friendly and provided great service.
First visit…. Yep, I’ll definitely return!!
We sat in the front patio in the shade for a lovely embience. Enjoyed the cool jazzy music too. Started with the lettuce cups, I could make that a meal, so flavorful, fresh and plentiful.
I had the halibut and licked the bowl clean…. So very good. I loved it…. Coconut milk sauce and black rice!
My friend had the short ribs…. She liked them but would order something g different next time.
My only comment t was the service started off slow, took almost 25 minutes to get our drinks I’ll give them a break as there was a large party of 18. I look forward to returning and trying something néw.
We were served by Dori who did an excellent job. Thank you Dori!
This was our first time here. Great menu, good consistent service, and food was excellent. We had 7 people in our party. Asked our server what some of the popular dishes were and ordered the top three : the glutton free fried chicken, the braised short ribs and the appetizer Kaletta. The rest of the party had mussels, Halibut, the Poke, and hanger steak. There was not a single plate left with food on it. Fantastic meal.
Excellent food and service! Love the new menu! Dined outdoor on the patio and it was wonderful.
Maria is an excellent server. We will ask for her whenever we go there.
The food was fantastic, the service was excellent. We really enjoyed our dining experience!
Food was great but service was lacking. My wife ordered a burger which was far from cooked to requested temp. They did offer to recook the burger, but the replacement took about 20 minutes to come back. All in all, drinks and food were very slow to arrive, dirty plates were not cleared from the table, waiter did not come to check on us, and I assume that sensing that things weren’t going well, we were only offered a check and not dessert.
We ate lunch indoors today at about 11:15. We ordered the Poached Eggs which came with a mixed green salad. The eggs were beautifully cooked. The mixed green salad was a weird thing to serve with it. We also ordered the burger with bacon. The burger was exceptional. The bun was perfect. It was served with french fries and the tiny probably House made pickles. I added bacon and it was magical. We also ordered a side of bacon for $5. This was because, typically, a bacon burger is pretty light on the bacon. The side of bacon was four thick slices of fantastic bacon, some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered iced tea. This is an odd comment, perhaps, however, unlike many restaurants, this was fabulous. Too many places put a lot of ice in it and let it get watered down, where it is just pale fluid. This was well brewed tea and I was grateful. All in all, was an exceptional experience and meal. I will be back.
Service was very very slow. I think it was the kitchen.
Reservation for 6PM and we left at 8PM and didn't get desert. Main entrees took about 45 min to 1-hour to come out.
Food was excellent but just took too long and we had 2 young kids with us,
We are regulars and love the place. Keep up the good work.
I know pandemic created real issues for small businesses to hire help. Our waiter was new at this restaurant, and he didn't know the questions I had about the food I wanted to order. But he was very good at finding the answers for me repeatedly. Rest of the workers are equally polite. Their outdoor seating arrangement is very comfortable. Food is tasty. Albatross management is doing a very good job working their ways back to "normal".
Meh. The food was okay but not awesome. It was clear that the special twist to each dish was “trying to hard”. We had the muscles to start which were not bad. They tasted like pizza since they were in red vodka-like sauce with pepperoni cubes. Also we’re talking about 6 muscles total. I had the short ribs which were okay but had a weird Mexican twist with cilantro and lime. My husband had the fried chicken which was tasty with an Asian sweet glaze which was unexpected. We decided to skip the dessert. The service was slow and sporadic. We had a reservation and our table wasn’t ready for 15min too.
Overall, we enjoyed each and every one of our dishes. Our server was diligent when it came to checking on us. This is really not a huge complaint, though we had to remind the bar folks about our drinks at least 2-3 times. One thing I will say, make it a point to review your check in detail. They did not overcharge us, though it was busy and somehow credited our bill almost $200, which was an oversight on their part. In the end, all was corrected.
We ate here for Mother’s Day brunch and it was excellent. When they forgot the truffle fries, they brought them at the end of the meal but didn’t charge us, which was nice.
We were somewhat disappointed last night when we had dinner for three and ordered the bread service($3) which was only two pieces. We asked for a little more bread and they charged us again! After spending over $160 we felt this lacked the class that was appropriate for this level of restaurant. We felt the most classy thing to do was give us some more bread. Is there a bread shortage or am I missing something.
