We sat at the bar. I personally have never seen this level of mixology in DANVILLE before. These guys were as good as Flour and Water in the city. The food was very good. I had the chicken dish and was fantastic. Best chicken at a restaurant in a long time. I met the owner and was quite obvious her passion for it to be best restaurant in the area. She’s got the right formula and will be back very soon. I hate bourbon and had the mixologist make me a bourbon cocktail and loved it.
Maria C. Very attentive & made great suggestions.
We enjoyed HH & will be back again.
Bartenders definitely made tasty drinks!
It was a nice place to celebrate a birthday! Food was creative, and very good.
Perfect venue for getting together with friends. Lunch included delicious salads, the gem salad with prawns and the mixed salad with a perfectly cooked piece of salmon. Soft serve deserts with whiskey caramel sauce were so good!!!
The owner, chef, manager and staff are always welcoming and make every dining experience special.
Albatross continues to be our favorite restaurant!!!
Albatross was wonderful. The food was superb, the ambiance was great and the wait stafc could not have been better.
Went for brunch on a Saturday, excellent service outside @their dog friendly patio. Food was very good, altho it looked like they had started to plate my husband's dish on my plate. He had a chicken lettuce cup salad with noodles and carrots and somehow those ended up underneath my quiche. If they had replated my dish on a clean plate would have been much better.
Ovwrall it was fantastic. The two salads we had - caesar and buratta - were only average.
This was our first visit to Albatross. We had a great time.
The food was bland and not much flavor. We brought our own bottle of wine and had to ask twice for it to be opened. We ordered appetizers and when they came out they did not bring plates to put it on. We ordered a salad to split and when it arrived it came with the main course dishes and was not split. We split the salad ourselves while our food sat on the table getting cold.
One and done for me. service and ambience are nice, but if the food you are served is not as good as what you can prepare at home, you probably won’t return.
The food was fresh and delicious. The house made ice cream and tiramisu were amazing!
Celebrating our anniversary and being a previous customer, we were each presented with a glass of Brut for our celebration. The owner stopped by for a short visit also. We enjoyed everything about the restaurant, food and staff. A great evening!
It was lovely! We enjoyed dining outside and the service was excellent. The avocado hummus is delicious (the herbs & micro greens on top make it!) and I’d say we all thought our lunch sandwiches were very good, but not spectacular. The bread was nothing special—just a sliced wheat. I suspect that the more exciting dishes are on the dinner menu or at least from the lunch entree section. I definitely will go again! It’s an excellent place to meet friends—great atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurant decor-warm and inviting. Lots of meat choices and my family said the flank steak was well prepared. Birthday treat of ice cream and salted caramel was so good. Server was attentive; however, other staff members just didn’t seem happy to be there but in all fairness, it was a Sunday evening of a long weekend. Will try the restaurant again during a livelier time.
We went for brunch. There are many selections from sweet to savory. Servings are good size for the price. We will go back for dinner soon.
Food was excellent, service was disappointing, wine list is challenging if you don’t like taking chances.
Not much to recommend here. The menu is very limited, and there was no imagination in the dishes. The Caesar Salad was good, but everything else (three entrees, an appetizer, and another salad) was very ordinary. The service was less than attentive...it was a full ten minutes after the dishes were cleared away before we were asked about dessert. The music was loud and inappropriate for dinner service. Dinner for three, six dishes plus two glasses of wine, was almost $200. A $5.00 charge for two Parker House rolls only added to the lack of value here. There are better options.
It is a somewhat limited menu, but our flat iron steak was delicious. Waiter great.
We were greeted by the owner herself as we entered, and had a wonderful mean on their outside patio. A nice range of food options available, wonderful cocktails and everything tasted amazing!! Highly recommend.
Fresh food seasoned masterfully. I loved every bite.
Food was great but there was an issue with it coming out very late. We got the app comp’ed but we waited over 30 minutes for entree. Food was so good we’ll be back
Fabulous experience. Great ambiance, delicious food, delightful host and great service. Our favorite place to dine from now on.
My first time trying this restaurant and was excellent service and food. Thank you, Zack for an excellent service. I loved the food and ambiance, too... great for everyday dining.
The menu was a bit pretentious. Did not serve soda, so it was either water or virgin cocktail.
Great food but the service got pretty poor towards the end.
We have been to this place now three times. Very creative menu and interesting wine list. We like it a lot.
I was eager to try this place. My lunch companion had the Reuben and it fell apart as she struggled to eat it. She liked it enough though. For me, the iced tea was fabulous. The rest, not so much. I had the burger with fries. The bun was any store bought sesame seed bun and very inadequate. The flavor was OK The commercial bun, though, took away a lot. The fries were fairly blond and the only condiment offered was standard ketchup. The server was lovely, as was the venue. I am not likely to go back though.
First time visit....
Everything for our party of five was really good, except for the size as my main course. I ordered the only special of the night available, which was a 10 oz ribeye steak. The flavor was amazing and presentation on point, however the meat was only cut 1/4" and clearly not 10 oz. This was extremely disappointing and not a $40 steak! I didn't feel like addressing with the food server, since we were in a celebratory setting, and everyone was very happy.
Would I return? Yes, everything else with regards to drinks, food, ambiance was very good. I'd definitely give them another chance. Just note that some of their dishes vary in size, and although good, may not be worth the value for what you pay.
Outstanding food and service. We will be back.
Ordered skirt steak and salmon. Salmon came out raw and the skit steak was very tough. The pairing with the sides were as if the chef is trying to hard. I don’t think we will be back.
Father's Day was a busy day and we had a reservation but took an hour to get served. We were going to leave but food came as we were about to stand up. The restaurant made up to it and that was really nice. We went back within a week because we wanted to try the famous pork chop and service was back to normal. We like to support Albatross as the first time we checked out the restaurant, it was the chef who greeted us. That was really nice and they know how to do good customer service if they fail to do what is expected of them.
Anyways, I am not fond of sandwiches but I ordered the Truffled Turkey Sandwich, it was so good. My son had it too and he agreed. I had the Poached Chicken Salad in one of our visits. It wasn't that great. Some restaurants can make a salad really good though. My husband had the Hanger Steak, he said it was good. My husband also had the pork chop the next visit, he said that he wishes the meat was more tender. He had better pork chop's in one other restaurant in Danville.
I had the mimosa, it was more of an orange juice and just a tinge of alcohol. Not a fan.
We would still go and try the other dishes in the restaurant next time.
We went for drinks and dinner or small plates. The food was good, just very small portions and our server was very pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, the service was very slow (it took us almost 3 hours to eat a very simple dinner). It was possible that we were moving slow and enjoying each others’ company, but we weren’t checked on too frequently. I will go back, because the food is that good.
Halibut and Salmon were excellent; something very hot/spicy in the succatash (would'nt order that again); did not like the black rice.
It is always so great to go to Albatross. High quality creative food, unique cocktails, warm hospitality and beautiful environment always encourage us to go there. We also love the owner, Mehrasa, she is a great lady with passion and love to her customers.
We were really excited to try this place, but very disappointed. They had plenty of tables available, but wouldn't seat anyone because the kitchen was overwhelmed. I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but it took over an hour to get our food. The only reason we got it in the end is because I asked for an update/said we wanted to leave. Service was poor as well. Definitely won't be back!
So accommodating! They were overbooked on Father’s Day and handled the situation calmly and with great service. Will def be back!
Great food, friendly staff and amazing service, perfect ambiance.
I've only been here once before since it's a fairly new restaurant. It was nice and quiet during a weekday lunch however, I figure for Father's Day I wanted to bring my family back so I made reservations in advance. The menu items to select from were minimal. The service was lousy and our waiter was very inexperienced, not knowing much about dishes when I asked what was the make up of a particular dish. It was $24 and for me to order an item he didn't know anything about, it was too risky. We ordered açaí bowl and thought it would come before our brunch, however, it came after the first two dishes were brought out (there were four of us). There was a lag between the third dish and the final dish for my husband, came almost 5 minutes later but we all started to eat without him. We asked for our açaí bowl to be brought back to kitchen since it was a soupy consistency. There was no attention given to us except when we had to flag someone down to ask for ketchup, which never came, more water and the bill. No one checked in on us, no one told us our food was on it's way and I think waiting 45 min from time we ordered to eating is just way too long. The table behind us with smaller children were also complaining. Overall, since the price point of this restaurant is beyond average, I won't be coming back and wasting my money on mediocre food and bad service.
Another wonderful meal at Albatross. Thank you for a special birthday dinner for my husband and our family.
