Wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Great evening out at Albatross
We loved our food! The lamb ragu pasta was amazing!
We were celebrating a birthday and opted to sit outside. iI was very comfortable and the service and was excellent. We have been here before and will continue to go back. Tho, I didn’t have one this time their Spritzer is my fav.
Easter brunch was lovely and delicious
I rarely write bad reviews but definitely feel I need to on this. I understand it was the First Easter Sunday that the restaurants were opened since Covid but this restaurant was so Under Prepared. First we had to wait over 20 minutes for our table which was not 6ft from the other tables. (They did move it only after I asked) 2nd how do you run out of brunch stables-ie: French Toast & Pancakes, 3rd wanted to change the poached egg on the crab cakes to over medium but was told we couldn’t. Speaking of the crab cakes they were extremely dry, 4th we order Deviled Eggs with Sturgeon Row..they came without the row, 5th order a plain egg for my grandchild which never came....truly hope they can turn around their kitchen & service staff...it was the first time in over a year my whole family was able to go out to eat for a Holiday and it was so disappointing!
For a busy Easter Sunday, the staff did an excellent job seating us and servings us. The food was excellent and we can't wait to come back for more.
We loved the outdoor dining area, it was nicely set up and comfortable. The food was good but it took 45 minutes from the time we ordered until our food arrived which was way too long, especially since we were seeing others who arrived after us get their food. Our waitress was very nice and very friendly but forgot a number of items we had requested (avocado, coffee, steak knife) and we had to remind her. All in all not a big deal, our food was good and the atmosphere was upbeat and pleasant. Perhaps the wait staff could just be a little more careful to bring items that were ordered and/or requested.
Service would’ve been better but they repeatedly forgot to bring us utensils and napkins. Had to ask 3 different people until they brought it to us and this is already after all of our food arrived.
Excellent restaurant with staff that really cares about their customers. Great food.
We had a lovely Easter brunch!
Our server Victor was pleasant and very attentive. The food was great, the only thing I didn’t like was sitting outside on street next to passing cars but unfortunately sitting outside is the requirement due to Covid
Would definitely go back
We had an amazing Easter breakfast. Food was outstanding. Service was slow, forgetful at times, but well meaning and friendly and helpful when they were there. Owner even came and personally apologized for the slow response. No complaints, will eat breakfast again!
Easter brunch was great!
I was pleasantly surprised to find it not that busy at Noon on a Saturday. We had a reservation prior to be safe. Since it was Easter weekend they had a condensed menu, but still a great selection. I throughly enjoyed my shrimp and grits. The grits had such a great flavor, shrimp were huge and tasty. The chipotle? Or whatever sauce was on top was a bit much, but still good just wish it had less.
Mimosas were really good- a good balance of juice and champagne. Great atmosphere and great outside seating option.
This was my second time dining at Albatros and it confirmed what I thought the first time: I will be back! The staff was lovely, attentive and knowledgeable, the cocktails were good and looked gorgeous and the food was copious and excellent! I highly recommend it!
My wife and I were celebrating our youngest son so we were just a party of 3. We love the outdoor ambiance of this place so we asked for a table just outside the front door in their very nice front patio.
It was a perfect evening. It was not cold nor very windy so we were very comfortable. We started off with two appetizers - Truffle Fries and Brussels Sprouts. Both were really good. The Birthday Boy had the Hanger Steak. I had the Fried Chicken and my wife had 2 Hot Small Plates but I can't remember what they were.
The steak was tasty, tender and perfectly grilled. My Fried Chicken was excellent - very moist inside and crispy on the outside. Service was also excellent.
We had a really fantastic meal and it was fitting for our Birthday Boy!
Outdoor dining under a tent structure with heaters. Service was friendly and prompt. The salmon and burger servings were generous and tasty.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere! Can’t wait to come back!
I'd return now that I've been once. High chair dining meant that you'd be near the bar and that was not a preference but the hostess was quick to relocate us and I appreciated that because for a birthday dinner - the bar scene was just to noisy. Waiter/waitress was a little confused with which table was theirs, but that must of been because of just re-opening from covid.
Overall it was a nice dinner and food was good.
Service was very slow. For example, it took about minutes to get a glass of wine after ordering it. Food service delivery was also slow. The restaurant may have been impacted by more people going out to eat after some easing of covid restrictions (good for the restaurant) so I'll assume part of the slow service can be attributed to that.
We ordered the pork chop and lamb shank entrees. The pork chop was overdone and I had to ask the server for a sharp knife to cut it. I like garlic a lot, but the both meat and the roasted vegetables had an overpowering garlic taste. The lamb shank was tender but sat in a pool of liquid with too much grease in the dish which made it seem less appetizing.
People had good comments about this restaurant and I was anxious to try it. I was disappointed in food for its value. I'm not sure I'd go back, at least not before going to other restaurants first.
Took my family and had a great experience. Friendly staff and Vegan choices as well throughout whole menu. Outstanding wine selection. Highly recommend.
Amazing food, unique flavors, great quality
The food is always a hit at this spot. The service seems to miss on something or another.
Hoping they get it together, as it would give them a solid dining destination.
Another hidden gem in Danville. The inside is beautiful. The service was great, the music, and food. We came here to try their brunch. I didn't care for the shrimp and grits but my husband loved it. I'm just not a fan of red sauce in grits. The salmon benedict was awesome.
They need much more practice post reopening. It was 50 minutes, and 3 requests. to receive an order of tepid truffle fries on which I tasted zero truffle. 45 min from order request we received entrees which were also lukewarm. Note it's 1 piece of chicken for $22. Asparagus and garlic soup delicious, but spoon was delivered 5 minutes after soup.
Food was great. Server was very friendly and helpful. So beautiful sitting out on their patio
Had lunch there with a party of four. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was great! Would definitely go back!
Great service and delicious food!
Good adaptation during Covid-19
Food was great. Service was ok. Didn’t seem to have the most knowledgeable staff in terms of the food, wine, etc. Not super attentive - we wait d forever to get a second drink and it took forever to come. We ordered soft serve and there were three toppings that came with it but we were told we could only order two. When they came there was like one tablespoon of each of two. Can’t imagine why they couldn’t give us the third tablespoon of topping it was so small. Also, Music was weird, it’s a modern place but they played 100% oldies all night and late night it switched to alt rock. Not sure what the vibe intention was but it didn’t fit. Will give it another shot but definitely room for improvement aside from the food which was pretty good.
The service was great. Food was wonderful. Please don’t forget to mention all ingredients. Even chives used for garnish should be mentioned. 😊
This was an exceptionally good experience - there were three of us. We started with Truffle Fries, Seared Brussels Sprouts and Chicken Lettuce Cups. I had the Braised Lamb Shank and it was really good - tender, tasty and served on a bed of really delicious Polenta. My wife had the Seared Salmon on a bed of Black Rice. Our son (his birthday) had the Hanger Steak and he was very impressed with the detail and quality of the food.
For dessert, we had a Bread Pudding and I have a Soft Serve Ice Cream topped with Olive Oil and Sea Salt.
The only slip (very minor) was there was no complimentary dessert for our Birthday Boy event though the birthday celebration was noted on the Open Table reservation.
Everything - service, menu choices, presentation, ambiance was all perfect!
One of first nights open after most recent re-opening in the area. They were a bit overwhelmed, but managed well. Food is great - much improved from last time I was there. Will go again and hopefully in more welcoming times for all of us.
Food was outstanding, but service was not good. Our server did not know how to answer any of our questions (and we only had a couple) about the menu. Still had a great night, just feel like at a restaurant like this the servers should be more informed about the menu.
Appetizers we're excellent. Main entree’s not so much.
Every visit yields some of the best food and service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. This place is exceptional in every way.
Very nice - baby behaved himself too!
Wonderful restaurant! Great food accompanied by delightful and attentive service. Enjoyed a delicious outdoor brunch on Saturday afternoon. The chilaquiles were amazing!
