Shortened menu available from 2:00pm to 5pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
We were very happy with the food and service.
Rarely have I paid so much for so little food. It was delicious, but felt fussy, and the portions frustratingly small. The service was great, and the place is beautiful. It just may need some adjustment to feel like you're getting value.
We loved our meal at Albatross, the drinks and the food were excellent! The chicken was moist and very tasty and the fish was very interesting and delicious. Interesting/unique appetizers and salads, as well. Our server was busy but attentive and the only drawback to this dinner was the noise level inside the restaurant. It was difficult to hear each other speak across the table. Perhaps in warmer weather the outside tables will offer an area for those who prefer a less noisy ambiance. This new business is definitely worth a try!
Fantastic brunch menu!
Interesting menu and really good service. Very attentive wait staff. Liked the entre but not the desert. Nonalcoholic drinks very good.
The food and service were outstanding. The owner oversaw the entire operation- real hands on. The variety and quality of the food was especially worth noting with many unique dishes offered.
Amazing food! The owner is delightful, adorable, friendly! Great Atmosphere!
My first time dining at Albatross. Food was good, not great. Service was good, as was the atmosphere. Music was a bit loud. Doubt I’ll be rushing back any time soon.
We had a reservation for 7:30 pm and we arrived on time and were promptly seated. First time to the new establishment and we thought the setting and ambiance were very nice and were hopeful. The restaurant had a small and seemingly manageable crowd. Unfortunately, it was 15 minutes before anyone had even taken our drink order. That was disappointing. Someone had brought us some water and a gentleman did come up to us after about 10 minutes and said our waiter would be with us soon. However, after 15 minutes I got up to let the hostess know that we had been there for 15 minutes and not even a drink order had been taken.
The waiter apologized and gave us a complimentary serving of bread and spiced apple butter. That was thoughtful. While the menu is somewhat limited, the trout was very tasty. The service improved.
I only mention this because you are a new restaurant and I think candid and early feedback can help to nip potential chronic issues in the bud before they become bigger issues.
The meal was very good the service has room for improvement.
Wonderful overall! Probably quite noisy when very busy but food excellent!
Lovely decor, amazing food. We went for business lunch and had great experience. Service quick and accomodating. Highly recommend.
Just opened for lunch service, Albatross excels again. The “Grilled Cheese” sandwich with soppressata and a fig and juniper jam was delicious. The Meyer lemon tart with meringue was a perfect end to a wonderful meal.
I had the pleasure of meeting Albatross’ owner, and in talking with the chef who shared his passion for creating dishes using the freshest foods representing the coming of Spring.
Three of us had the fixed price option and were impressed with the presentation and quality of each dish. Very pleased with our experience there.
Great food choices. The Hanger steak was excellent. The tables are a little close together but overall, the restaurant is worth a visit.
It’s a little pricey for the Danville area, but a nice departure from the typical fare. The food may be more eclectic than other places, but it’s quality. The main sellng point for me is that the owner is extremely personable, and it cascades to the employees. I’d highly recommend it for dining, appetizers, or drinks, as long as that continues.
This place had nice environment, however the food was so so. The small eggplant dish that I ordered was pretty hard in texture.
The main course (lamb ragu) has a cold rice.
So I don’t know if that’s how it supposed to be. The cocktail was good.
Some great dishes. Others just okay. Choose wisely. Great setting.
Low quality ingredients, high price for the dish(steak) High priced cocktails(sur-charge to shake and serve up) $16. Nice wines by the glass.
The pastrami is excellent. The octopus lack of flavor. It was nice until new patrons next desk talk with loud voice and just bragging and boasting
Had a great experience dining at this restaurant. The food was amazing as well as the service.
Great addition to Danville! Delicious flavors, amazing service and an overall wonderful dining experience! I highly recommend it.
Last minute decision to go for a late brunch. Only a few patrons left upon my arrival. Food and drink - crab frittata and passion fruit mimosa - were outstanding!!!!
Server was somewhat distracted so not that attentive. I was surprised as there were only 6 or 7 patrons still dining. Best guess is that he was tying up loose ends following brunch service.
Manager, Brett, very pleasant and charming.
Albatross is definitely a go to place!
What made this evening 5 star for me was the bartender, yes the bartender! She was attentive, friendly and professional. She made us a blood orange gimlets with gin that was so delicious. Our table was ready and so she had the drinks sent to our table. About 20 minutes later she came to check on us and see if we liked them with the gin (we were on the fence about gin). Great service!!!
Menu was inventive and the flavors were so good. Stunning interior,
Excellent food, very good wine, excellent service, comfortable ambiance. Great for foodies and special occasion. Both entrees were world class: scallops and lamb. Desserts also tops: lemon tart was the best. Chocolate (Valrhona) also delicious. Worth traveling to.
Creative cuisine perfectly executed....this place is a gem.
The food, the ambient, the service and everything is a Michelin star style and quality, you have to catch here before it gets the star very soon.
Albatross was foodie fantastic
We were a large party with a couple of children
I would not recommend the restaurant for children
The food & service was fantastic
Excellent Service from start to finish. The menu choices were interesting and different. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and delicious. This is definitely a new gem of a restaurant in Danville.
Excellent food and drinks were priced right. Tables are close together that’s probably the only complaint
This, our first visit to Albatross was very enjoyable...there were four of us and two of us were celebrating our birthdays. Fabulous space and energetic ambiance. Understanding the restaurant industry and what it takes even after two months of being open I give Albatross some leeway here as it takes awhile to develop a rhythm between the front and back of the house. Upon entering the receptionists (2) seemed totally slammed and not particularly welcoming. (It was a Thursday night). Although all of the servers were very courteous there seemed to be a fair amount of confusion over the course of the evening who was doing what...drinks and food orders took awhile. They eventually got with the program as the evening progressed and there were fewer diners. But, THE FOOD...was outstanding!! Every dish, every bite full of flavor, impeccable ingredients and creativity with know-how...from appetizers to dessert. So go with the idea of not being in a hurry and enjoy every bite!
Fun new restaurant in Danville with interesting food and wine from around the world. Service was slightly over enthusiastic and interrupted our conversation too often But, still an excellent meal and a fun vibe even if it was a little pricey.
The server was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. The prices are a little high - I spent $33 for mimosa and lunch main course.
The Most amazing restaurant experience ever I had. The ambiance and lightening was just amazing. Foods are super healthy and delicious. Me and my wife drive 1 hour from San Bruno to this place per my best friend recommendation and I'm so happy we found this place. I’d love to meet the owner and chef someday to tell them how amazing their business is.
We enjoyed the ambiance and the food was so delicious. Every item was above our expectations. Will definitely go back!
We loved everything - the beef cheek meal and the octopus were outstanding. We loved the squid ink pasta too. fun and innovative menu - probably my only complaint is that they charge $7 for a tiny bit of bread and butter - that is not necessary! Just provide it! That was the only thing that detracted from the otherwise perfect meal that 6 people of varying tastes all enjoyed
Everything about this place says 5 stars.
Outstanding service starting the minute you walk in the door until you exit the place.
Food is absolutely delicious.
Great restaurant with good food, good ambience and great service.
Outstanding! Menu unique and flavorful. Service attentive. Great ambience. Owner very welcoming and concerned about your experience. Cannot wait to return.
This was our second time back. It was delicious. The only difference was that the octopus was not as creamy consistency as the first time. But, it was still exceptional. We loved the hangar steak and the Brussels Sprouts and black rice served with it. Didn’t even need a steak knife to cut it! We had the poached pear again for dessert. The presentation is changed from the first time, but even more scrumptious.
Server was very knowledgeable about preparations.
Can’t wait to go back.
