This was our first visit to Alavita and it was excellent from start to finish! Every element of the experience was what we hoped for based on the many positive reviews. Special thanks to the folks that prepared our food and to Steve and Casey for their exceptional service.
Reservation was for birthday, called to see if online reservation went through along with note for birthday occasion. No birthday recognition. Food was delicious, wished to have information when asked about menu items.
We should eat here more often. Every course was excellent, from the bruschetta and artichoke appetizers , to the cavatelli and cod main dishes and a very nice chocolate dessert. Nice wine selection as well.
I would normally recommend this restaurant, but the food was more expensive and not as good as previous occasions (bring back the spicy red sauce cavatelli!). Not only that, but there were multiple occasions in which our waiter ignored us to talk to bartenders. I had to ask for my check from another worker there. We went there because we almost always have a 5 star experience, but this was 3 stars at most...
Excellent food, service, and beverages! Would definitely recommend for a date night or business dinner.
Service was fantastic. Food matched service.
The menu has been updated with several new items, which helped keep it fresh for my wife and I. Our server made excellent recommendations for wine pair with each of the courses. We moved to Boise in 2015 and Alavita has continued to improve since then and is now a very good Italian restaurant. We really enjoyed our evening out!
Great food and service! Love the new menu items and definitely recommend the black ravioli! Tina provided great service!
Birthday. Manager paid for the bday cake! Very nice gesture. Always enjoy the service. Thank you.
Amazing food and service!
Our table was ready when we arrived. Immediate service! The server was very informative even though it was hard to hear. Our guests were very impressed with the excellent food! Our second visit and it was equal to the outstanding first visit!
Housemade pasta was delicious. Service was excellent.
I always enjoy my meal at Alavita! Tonight we had the server recommend pasta entrees - the Tagliatelle with spicy sausage was particularly good but everything was outstanding. Can't wait to come back!
Consistently wonderful, delicious food. The servers are always the friendliest and knowledgeable of everything on the menu. My favorite restaurant in Boise, ID.
Great food and service. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Kerry the managers was friendly, active and making sure all her customers were well taken care of.
We have been enjoying a dinner out at Alavita occasionally for several years, but this time one of the dishes we ordered was not up to par. The marinated olives were good, the pork chop with polenta was excellent, but the gnocchi with chanterelles and green beans was only okay. They should have just left out the chanterelles because the three or four little pieces of mushrooms in the dish were limp and tasteless. I mean, it’s chanterelle season for goodness sake! I expected some sautéed, meaty, browned chanterelles to grace this dish. The horseradish sauce went surprisingly well with the green beans and gnocchi, but didn’t work with the mushrooms - maybe that’s why they seemed tasteless.
I won’t give up on them yet because of their track record, but I hope this isn’t a sign that their quality is going downhill.
Fantastic time with my parents on their visit
Alavita is always a favorite of ours. The staff is always attentive and knows the menu well so they are always willing to help us with a selection. The wine list always has wonderful wine. All of this and the bill is always reasonable. We always start with the Burratta. For the main course we love their Papperdelle. And we always end with the Affogato.
I was disappointed that my reservation didn't qualify for Open Table points. This has never happened before and I haven't been able to get a reply / reason from Open Table.
We were showered with good vibes from the minute we arrived! Busy, busy, Friday night and our table was waiting for us with open arms :) Chef even came to the table and introduced himself, how lucky were we? Wine selection was awesome and took advantage of a wonderful Italian wine we are familiar with. Appetizers were divine. Great night out with friends. Still salivating over the house made bread sticks!
Excellent food, service, and drinks. Happily recommend.
Excellent food and service. A little on the loud side maybe because of the more centrally located table where we were seated.
Delicious food and prompt courteous service. A great downtown Boise restaurant with a distinctively northwest take on Italian food.
The food was excellent. The lobster in the ravioli was cook perfectly.
This is my wife wife and Is go to date restaurant. Fancy but not too fancy and the food is absolutely amazing. We’re never disappointed.
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
We had a great meal and memorable experience.
Thank you all!
Excellent, friendly service. The food was amazing. Great little restaurant.
Raviolis needed to be warmer but it is a very quaint spot with fresh food and good people!
Kerry (I think the mangers name) and her staff are really very good. Wonderful experience, great food, fun surroundings, great cocktails and wine selections. I will keep going back.
Wonderful, imaginative Italian food from starter to dessert and paired with a solid wine list. Continues as one of my Boise favs.
Service great, food had too much oil. Tried a couple of dishes, felt like I was drinking straight from bottle of olive oil. Great if you like it, but ...
Even though we arrived early, our table was ready for us. The wait staff that helped us were all friendly and courteous and our waitress was outstanding. The food was and always is outstanding!
Our table of four ended up doing a small-plates evening. Everything was delicious. Drinks were tasty and interesting. We had the meat/cheese/veggie combo (the coffee aioli was amazing), grilled artichokes, and a few more cheese combos.
A tasty evening in every way. We'll be back.
Once again we enjoyed our dinner, brought company too.
We were a little underwhelmed with the food but liked the restaurant and service. The black ravioli sounded so good but came a little undercooked and under-seasoned. I will say the fresh angel hair was on point and something we’d have again.
Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Love the decor and setting. Meatballs were top notch, but the king crab app lacked an identity. Everything very fresh.
I really wanted to live Alavita, as Boise needs a decent Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, I can't. The service was solid, but the food was wanting. The bolognese was scrapped from the bottom of the sauce pan, the seafood/crab raviolis was cool/cold, and the sausage pasta dish had way too much oil in it... Desert was fine
ALAVITA is consistently the best nouveau Italian in Idaho, a favorite for special occasions and just date night to get away from the kiddos 😀
The food was divine and our server was very knowledgeable! Will definitely be back!
Great as always!
