Alan Wong's Restaurant
Our flagship restaurant in Honolulu has been recognized by numerous awards including those for "Best Tasting Menu", "Best Wine Program", "Best Service", and "Best Desserts." The culinary team is always striving to create new dishes that speak of our Farm to Table commitment, and our staff strives to make your romantic dinner, special occasion, or visit to Honolulu a memorable one for every guest.
One of the best meals we’ve had. The attention and service from the staff was superb and they really went above and beyond to make our anniversary special. Highly recommend.
Food was good but not exceptional as we had grown accustomed. Also staff mistakenly took entree order and had to wait for proper order to arrive. Also appetizers arrived before our drink order. Not a great experience.
Wonderful meal. Too 10 experience. MUST DO if in Waikiki
Amazing food, delicious drinks and great service! Alan Wong’s exceeded all of our expectations. Thanks for a great night!
Erin, our server was very attentive and made my anniversary dinner with my wife, a very pleasant experience. The food was very flavorful, the restaurant vibe was very laid back. We will be back! 🤙🏽
You just can't go wrong at Alan Wong's!! Took my wife there last night to celebrate our 21st Wedding anniversary, our first anniversary celebration since returning to the islands after 13 years away and what better place to do it. We started off with the "NEW WAVE” KUALOA OYSTER SHOOTERS, as they say, "Broke da mouth!!" The local oyster was excellent!! We also had his version of escargot, wonderful! Next we had the "HAWAII ISLAND GOAT DAIRY CHÈVRE, ROASTED BEETS Salad", the absolute best taste of the night!! Neither of us are goat cheese fans so we were a little skeptical trying it but we are so glad we did. Whatever they mix with the goat cheese is a mystery to me but it was fabulous!! Our entrees (we had three of them!!) were all very nice from the PAN STEAMED OPAKAPAKA, SHORT TAIL PINK SNAPPER and KEAHOLE LOBSTER SHRIMP LASAGNA combined with the SEARED DAY BOAT SCALLOPS RISOTTO, we were happily stuffed. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Chardonnay with our meal as well. But that didn't stop my wife from getting her all time favorite desert anywhere, “THE COCONUT”. Not only is it visually appealing, the taste is out of this world. She would go to Alan Wong's just for that!! I had the WAIALUA CHOCOLATE “CRUNCH BARS” topped off with some Kona Coffee and Olena Blend Herbal Tea for my wife, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Yup, my bill was pretty big for the two of us, but the Service throughout was excellent and the food is as good as it gets on island. We will return again and again, regardless of the occasion!! Mahalo to the entire staff for making the night so wonderful for my beautiful wife.
Awsome food and super Shaka service. Valet parking was very resonable.
Amazing food, I highly recommend eating here!
Phenomenal food and service!
We’ve been eating here since 1995 and it is always perfect in every way!
This was not our first time dining at Alan Wong's and it won't be our last. Everything is perfect from the attention of the servers right through the dessert (desserts are incredible). Our dinner was delicious. We both had two appetizers instead of an appetizer and a main dish. They were actually too much - the portions are a grand size and next time we will share the appetizers instead of each of us having two on our own. The ahi stack is wonderful and the poki dish just as great. The ambiance is lovely. Definitely a restaurant to visit when on Oahu!
Their service was superb! Food was delicious and flavorful! Highly recommended.
This mainstay of upper end dining never fails to disappoint. Starting with great service, excellent quality and superb presentation, the whole experience is almost perfect. The weak link is that the bar had slow service and they had to come back to the table 3 times before I knew they were out of 2 of the 3 call gin Martini’s I ordered. That’s just not acceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. Otherwise, a flawless meal.
The service was top notch, space is tired, needs to be refreshed, main dishes were excellent 2 of the 3 appetizers were just ok, cocktails were not great
Obama's favorite restaurant in Hawaii is not ours (and we love Obama...) Undercooked, wet risotto, mushy clams, vaunted tomato salad with a decidedly sub-par tomato, bland scallops... nothing was really good except the wine for which we cannot give them credit... Service good but a bit self-conscious. Wanted very much to like this place but disappointed. Next time, will eat at The Pig and the Lady twice...
A Fabulous experience, will return on our next visit to Honolulu. Darrin was perfect waiter, attentive but didn't try to find out our life history. Great team.
Absolutely delicious food and great service! Everything came out very fast as well.
We had a lovely time celebrating my son's 13 birthday dinner at Alan Wong's from the beginning to the end. Our waiter, Michael really took care of us. The four course menu was tasty and delicious. And of course, the Coconut desert was the highlight to conclude a perfect night.
Amazing food, superb service which was attentive but not hovering. Attended to our special dietary needs with such grace. Lovely ambiance and quiet enough to have an easy conversation. Best of the best.
The food was amazing. Our server didn’t come across as confident in his ability to serve us or answer our questions.
My favorite in Honolulu, food outstanding and impeccable service. Visit each time I visit Honolulu.
Because of many recommendations, I visit this restaurant to have dinner during honeymoon. The quiet ambience and good mountain view make me happy during dining. I choose a full-course meal with wine pairing. The served meals are delicious and harmonic with paired wines. The most delicious menu was cooked lobster and shrimp wrapped with lasagna with cream-source. It was fantastic and making harmony with white wine which is served. And the restaurant gave me a occasional coconut sherbet dessert to celebrate our honeymoon. I will never forget this experience and recommend this restaurant for visitors who came hawaii to their honeymoon.
Thank you to Darren. You were such a wonderful waiter!
Alan Wong’s is absolutely fantastic every time. 😊
It’s always a treat to dine at Alan Wong’s if for nothing else but their Pineapple Shave Ice dessert! The fish is always good too!
Outstanding service and food. Perfect place for a special occasion
Great very very special occasions or with special guests
A very enjoyable evening. Fantastic service. The culinary highlight was a surprise: the "tacos" we shared as an appetizer. Superb and highly recommended. We both enjoyed the steamed opakapaka, creatively served with pork hash, but could have done with less of the broth in which the fish were seemingly still swimming. The desserts were sinfully good.
Delicious meal and impeccable service! We had the menu tasting and enjoyed every course. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful course for first two dishes worst for the rest
Truly outstanding as always! Alan Wong's remains our favorite on the island and go to spot for special occasions.
Great food and service!
We loved the seafood cake generously seasoned with lemongrass & served with a delicious remoulade sauce, it was a nice change from every restaurant's crab cake. The seabass was cooked perfectly with a lovely crisp skin. Chocolate dessert wafers and cookie completely satisfied our chocolate craving.
Engaging wait staff catered to us.
Side note...in my opinion $7 mandatory valet fee + tip, an even $10 is rather high for parking where the valets aren't required to trot very far. Compare the parking rates & distance the valets cover at the Kahala Resort.
I dined at Alan Wong's with a dear family friend who lives in Maui. I have visited Alan Wong's over the past 20 or so years and it has been constantly exceptional, from the time you enter to the time you leave. Pleasant ambiance with excellent service and cuisine. We had the pre-fix dinner menu. The twice cooked kalbi-ribs was tender and tasty. The small chocolate crunch bars for dessert were yummy. This is one of my favorites, Highly Recommended!
Had mixed feelings dining at Alan Wong’s after being away from Hawaii for a couple of years. The service was great as usual, but the food did not impress as it has in the past...probably because there are so many great restaurants in Hawaii now and I had high expectations for Alan Wong’s. The decor of the place has not changed and I viewed this as a positive.
Much ado about nothing. Poor wait staff. Food average at BEST. Odd feel in restaurant. It’s time has past
Alan Wong’s is one of the best restaurants on Oahu. The service, food, and ambiance were perfect. The AW experience is consistent. We will go to AW when we return to Oahu.
I was a big fan of the Pineapple Room and with its closing I was very excited to visit Alan Wong’s main restaurant. However I didn’t catch that it’s most recent reviews were not that good. Instead, I looked at the volume of positive ratings. Little did I know...that the restaurant is in decline. The restaurant itself is in an office building on a iffy street. Not a big deal. Dining room was ok. My husband and I ordered the tasting menu. Our server Troy was very inattentive and we had long waits between courses and our drinks were late in coming. The foie gras sandwich appetizer was light and flavorful. The cold bisque soup was too salty. The next plate, the shrimp lasagne was horrendous. The pasta wasn’t cooked through and the shrimp was gummy. The next plate was a monchong in a ginger sauce. It was overwhelming over spiced and it burned my mouth. Finally we had the short ribs which weren’t very flavorful. Desert was tons of overdone chocolate without anything to balance it out. In past menus I could see that this fish had been changed out from opa to monchong and the desert used to come with ice cream. Now the restaurant is trying to save money and live off its past accolades. Terrible waste of $300 for two.
We had the tasting menu and it was amazing
